Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
It's not a commuter, no kick start (you mind having a broken leg by back pressure) .Originally posted by Pranav Mukul View PostHi, there's another issue that comes to my head. I apologise in advance if it's already been discussed.
Does the bike have a kickstart? Or is the electric start our only resort?
Bajaj has launched the bike only recently and it won't be at least another 6-7 months till we experience winters. I read that manufacturers are now getting done with kickstart, especially in such heavy CC motorcycles. And then what to really do in winters, or if the bike remains parked for more than a week or so? Bump-start?
Please if you could shed some light on this.
Thanks.
Hug your bike (if you buy one) and pray to FI God ...

Balancing is usually perfect on factory bikes but you can get it inspected at any car shops. SVCs usually don't have the machinery.
Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.
Car shops dont do balancing for bike wheels at least here in Delhi.
My NS pulls to right and handle also seems to go right (can see visibly as well). Tried at many shops to get the balancing done but no one is ready to do it.
I had to change the front alloy wheel, but surprisingly Bajaj is not providing alloy for Pulsar with counter weights, you need to get them balanced as well. (cheapness from Bajaj).
I am stuck and frustrated with this problem since a long time.
If anyone knows where this can be done or any solution to thsi proble please let me know.Last edited by AashishS; 05-20-2015, 05:46 PM.sigpic

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hey guys has any of the owners (or people who got test rides) managed to take the bike in the Ghat section?
If so, how does the bike behave on steep inclines?
Also does it feel strange riding with a pillion on this bike? On Ghats as well as straight roads. Thanks!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I am owning a RS200 and rode it in ghat similar situations, all I can say is that it handles really well. The ABS works very nice and the way it leans into corners is just awesome. It's also very flickable in traffic and works pretty decent untill the radiator fan turns on and makes heavy noises.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostHey guys has any of the owners (or people who got test rides) managed to take the bike in the Ghat section?

About the ride with pillion, yes it is a pain. The bike really doesn't get a good pick up which results in stalling. It already weights too much and with an extra pillion on it is kinda uneasy to ride. In traffic you will get tired with pain in your palms and pillion with hard bums.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Dint have a kick starter in my 2009 P220, dint have one in my CBR either, never needed one. But yes, you need to keep watch on the battery once in a while. On the RS, if the battery is weak it can be push/jerk started, but if its dead the FI wont function, and bike will be dead as well. But the possibilities are very rare, unless you ignored signs of a sick battery.Originally posted by Pranav Mukul View PostHi, there's another issue that comes to my head. Left/Right pull usually happens due to the alignment or steering play/coneset issues. Unbalanced wheel as far I know results in a wobbly/bumpy ride.Originally posted by AashishS View PostCar shops dont do balancing for bike wheels at least here in Delhi.

In Honda ASC they do balance wheel, I have balanced my P220 wheel long ago in Bangalore as well. If they are not doing it in your city, please find a wheel balancing shop in the open market. The Car tire shops wont do it, the lead weights are available outside too.
In ghats even the CBR kind of struggles with a pillion. On steep climbs, if you are stuck in the wrong gear/rpm your engine capacity wont help. The only bike that I have tried that shows very less power loss due to pillion was the D390, anything smaller will have a noticeable difference in the performance.Originally posted by rockstar.ash23 View PostI am owning a RS200 and rode it in ghat similar situations, all I can say is that it handles really well. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
On steep incline, the bike manages to pull in 4th gear if in good speed. I rode with a pillion (combined weight of about 125 kg) and did not face any problems on Ghats. But the pillion was not very happy with hard rear seat.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostHey guys has any of the owners (or people who got test rides) managed to take the bike in the Ghat section?

Hi
Fork alignment has been checked, Handle T has been replaced (just to check), conset everything is in order.
Handle still goes to right side, means if the handle is straight the wheel is not straight and when the bike moves the wheel goes straight but then the handle turn right. Also there is wobbling and bumpy ride as you told.
It was diagnosed by the service center that the wheel is out of balance, i tried my best to find some shop in open market since SVC dont do it but failed.
Due to this problem i unfortunately met with an accident after which i decided to change the whole alloy wheel. Aloy wheel sold by bajaj does not have weights installed (KTM ones have from factory
). So again the same problem is there.
I have searched a lot in the open market but in Delhi i think no one does it or maybe i wasn't able to find the right shop. People who do the stuff only straighten the alloy without putting weights on it and claim that they are experts in balancing.
Will apreciate if you can guide further or maybe some contacts if you have.Last edited by AashishS; 05-21-2015, 11:52 AM.sigpic

Hi
God saved me since i was riding at max 30-40kmph. Still got some scratched on my right hand and knee & had to take bed rest for 15 days.
I have put complaint on their website, lets see what action they take to solve this problem.
Have asked them to send engineer from Pune as their mechanics at SVC are useless. Else i have other plans.sigpic

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hmm, I did face this wobbly issue with the 220 quite frequently, everytime I hit a pothole the alignment would feel off. But everytime it narrowed down to the coneset in my case. Also faced this issue with the CBR, though not very frequent, most of the time it was rectified with with the balancing. Not sure if the diagnosis was right or if I was just imagining the presence of wobble or the lack of it. Its a major irritant while riding.
how are the tires ? treads are good ? have you checked the rear wheel/tire/swingarm for any issue ? I know it sounds weird but once on a ride I had to change tires in the middle of nowhere. Found a small shop selling cutting tires (worn out tires, who treads were deepend with blades). After fitment the wobble was felt in the handle bar it really felt as if something was wrong in the front while the issue was actually at the rear. Also check, swingarm bush, and the swing arm mounting bolts at the center. Also, there is a small bolt at the very end of your fork, please check if it hasn't fallen off. Even this could cause a drag to left or right and while braking you will feel each fork is moving at different rate.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Even i had a accident when learning to drive on my friends 100 cc bike (hero honda) i turned in a corner(it wasnt a steep corner) at 70kmph on gravel and the tires skid this happened last friday. My right hand skin dermis and epidermis has come off,i got 20 stitches (by my father ) near my right eye, abrasions on my knee and a minor fracture in the hip bone. My legs luckily got saved by my jeans(which got completely wrecked)even my finger nails and skin has come off . When my rs comes i will buy all the appropriate gear (jacket, jeans, gloves) and follow the best safety which is drive slow . It was so painful, luckily no perma damage other than my hand evrything else has started to heal right now and i think should be healed in another weeks time.Originally posted by AashishS View PostHi

I was going to do all the spot check on the bike (but this lady is really irritating and doesnt give me proper info at the dealership) but now i am really tired,i will just take the bike and hope it functions properly.Without telling me she already alloted the chassy number to me and sent the bike to the rto for registration without letting me do the spot check(not that i know how to do most of the things mentioned above in the list by rachitsharma)and to add to my misery the bike i wanted to buy and was waiting for 4 years which is the mahindra mojo 300 cc is now all of a sudden going to launch in the june month just as i will get my rs 200!!!!!!!!!!!. God really gives chappar fadke when he decides to give.

Font tire is new, changed recently(stock size) so no issues with the tyre.
Which small nut are you talking about i didn't understand?
Also as suggested by you i will get the rear wheel and swingarm checked. This has been coming to my mind since a few days so ill get this checked as well.
Currently i am waiting for the engineer from Bajaj to check my bike. Today i received call from the SVC and they told they will inform me further so waiting:thumbup:
Thanks for the tips once againsigpic

This is the bolt I am referring to, I am not sure if its there on the Pulsar, but I am pretty sure it should.
Hope you find the root cause soon

Good to hear that you are finally getting the bike.Originally posted by Dragonprince View PostEven i had a accident when learning to drive on my friends 100 cc bike (hero honda) i turned in a corner(it wasnt a steep corner) at 70kmph on gravel and the tires skid this happened last friday. Wait for an SMS from Mumbai RTO mentioning your registration number. Next working day after the message, you can get your bike from showroom.
Best of luck with your new ride. Good that you have decided to buy safety gear, remember that this is something you WOULD NOT want to compromise on. Be careful on the Eastern express highway and Western express highway.
One last thing about Mojo, one bird in hand is better than two in bush. I waited for 4 months for CBR refresh (after paying booking amount on 250 and being told by showroom that refresh is around the corner). The damn refresh is still nowhere in sight!Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...
