So i will be collecting the bike tomorrow 29-05-2015 at around 11.30am , i will be doing the spot test of the bike also tomorrow itself when it comes , I wanted to ask will you be free tomorrow rachitsharma around 11.30 am ? If you can come it will be a great help as you know how to do the spot check and also check for vibrations !!!!.
      Congratulation!!!

Best wishes to your father for fast recovery.

I am really sorry, I would be in office at that time, so it would not be possible to come with you. Two things regarding the PDI:

      1. They'll tell you that they have already done the PDI at their warehouse. So, you will have to do it by yourself. But don't worry, it is just common sense. You'll do just fine...
      2. They will give you a petrol coupon for Rs 100. When you will go to the petrol pump, some weird looking petrol pump attendant will ask you if it is a "new dulhan". Then he will murmur some weird hymns and ask you for "bakshish"... I told him that I am an atheist and dont care much about mantras. Then went to a temple to do some puja...

Now next and difficult step is to control your emotions while in the run-in period. The maximum speed for each gear as prescribed in the manual is:
      1 gear: 10 kmph
      2 gear: 16 kmph
      3 gear: 24 kmph
      4 gear: 32 kmph
      5 gear: 40 kmph
      6 gear: 48 kmph

As a rule of thumb, keep rpm below 3.5k during first 1000 km. Also, remember that lugging is equally harmful for engine...

Best of luck for the D-day tomorrow!

I'm shocked to hear that too, as I and many of us would have gone for the black instead of yellow or red.
It is actually quite funny, but most people who booked those colors are most probably planning to buy an rs after maybe six months or an year. Would have taken picture of the sheet containing information but it had numbers so showroom guy didn't allow it.

Happy to hear that the machine is free of vibrations, that's the thing I was worrying about. Now I really think that have made a wise decision. Seems like the Pulsars are getting refined with every new model.

Ok Thanks for the tips and my father is fine (he is a doctor:he was the 1 doing surgery on other people ) so he was like i am too tired today (even the stitches i got was done by dad near my eye)and well go collect it tomorrow. Since i had a accident no1 is willing to let me go collect it on my own. Yeah she had asked me if i want puja done (i was like what) of the bike i was like you can do the normal stuff but i dont insist on it. Also what is lugging ?? and is the run in period of the engine 1k km or 2k km?

Lugging - when u ride/drive bike/other vehicle on high gear on low speed and engine makes knocking sound... Its harmful for engine as well as chain and sprockets....

                Nd congrats for getting rs...

Lugging is running the bike in higher gears at very low RPM. You would feel the bike underpowered and engine making tiring sounds. If you do that, it is very harmful for the engine.

Run-in period is divided into two periods: First 1000 km, keep bike below 3.5k RPM. Next 1000 km, keep the RPM below 4k.

I just got my bike !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! finally thank god . I checked the tires they didnt have a green line so i told the dealer guy he didnt reply(bahut ****all attitude hai at their showroom) then he finally said that there is no green line on the tire ,thats only there on the high end bikes .The coolant and oil lvl was also near low marker but they didnt top it up. I told the dealer dude that the green line should be there and i was getting irritated so i said it with little raised tone,he was like nahi hai sir i am telling the truth . I finally said its fine(after pursuasion from my dad who said that this is the best i can ever hope to get in terms of service from bajaj) they then started doing the teflon coating on the bike , we waited 20 mins then they put the vehicle number on my bike. When we got the first aid kit and repair kit and papers we got ready to leave (and then the lady who i bought the bike from came and she is like your leaving ??? i was like we were waiting for 2hrs !!!!!) Anyway at least got the bike. The pillion seat is bad (spent 45 mins on it and my hand were hurting) and whenever the bike stops the pillion gets a feeling of being thrown off so you have to hold the bike very tight. The bike was very good on potholes and other obstacles but sometimes was skidding on stuff(maybe because dad used front brake) The skid of the bike was little unerving at it was happening at speed like 30,45,even as low as 15. The bike is like a tank very smooth straight ride no deviation. The turn radius is large(meaning you cant take turns easily) The lights of the bike and start function and other accessories are also really good. The gear shifting is on the same lvl as the 100 cc bike of my friend, hero honda (i dont remember which model) . The 1, neutral and 2 sometimes get mixed but 90% it goes to the intended gear. You have to rev the bike to 3k-4k rpm to start the bike(first gear) failing which it stalls. It is a attention magnet (but i am used to it since even my car the Reva i gets same attention infact more). Its low end rev is quiet but high end sounds meaty. The main drawback is the skid and the bike being heavy also the seat is little hard and it gets hard after more than 2hours .I havent gone to any speed higher than 40 and 4 gear so i dont know any top end problems. I have done roughly 30km today. Also i wanted to ask ,what type of petrol should i put ,my father was saying put the sada(normal) 1.

I agree with the hard seat thing.. drove it for 180kms at a stretch to my city from Bhopal and it literally was a pain in the a** . I do not have the skidding problem though..

Congrats on your purchase bro. Use the front disk brakes with caution since it's pretty sharp. Modulate the lever to feel the brakes when braking. Brake pads require time to set till which the brakes will be grabby.
And tyres too will take around 150-200 kms to ensure optimal performance.
The bike is Fi controlled. The ecu should ensure startup and idling without major fuzz. Incorrect clutch play can cause idling issues in gear. During run in periods, do not raise the engine excessively with no load. Take care of the bike well during it's initial days and it'll serve you well. Happy riding bro..

Hearty congratulations buddy! Yes, you weren't treated well at the showroom, but that's a well-known Bajaj signature behaviour so can't expect anymore from them. It's a good fact that there weren't any other defects.

I hope you checked the ODO reading to make sure your bike wasn't used for test rides. The reading shouldn't be more than 12km I guess.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear that the pillion experience is not up to the mark, but I'm pretty sure most of us would be revving the bike alone. Still, it should have been better. @rachitsharma2000 please clear this point. Let's see how I feel about it when I get my RS.

I have heard a lot of great feedback about the brakes though, so the skidding I think resulted from pushing the brakes too heard. @rachitsharma2000 please advise. I hear that the brakes in the RS are very sharp and it will take a while to get acquainted with them properly, so give it a little practice.

Even a beginner like me knows that it takes a while to get familiar with the Pulsar gears, so don't worry. After the run-in period, they'll become butter smooth and you won't ever hit the neutral accidentally.

But the one problem, which I think can be an issue, is the stalling that you noticed and the fact that you had to rev it up to 3-4k to start it. I don't think that is natural and you should see the service center about it. @rachitsharma2000 What say?

Even I would like to know what kind of petrol you must use in the RS- normal or Power? Also, the engine oil that Bajaj guys use at the service center- is it mineral or synthetic? Please help us on these points @rachitsharma2000.

Congrats again, and take care of this bike. I'm sure it will be a gem! Do post the pics of your bike and your experience with it. Enjoy your ride bro!

Thanks ,i am really happy i got my bike finally . Even my friends said the bike really suits me as it is big and matches my Sardar stereotype. The bike is really heavy ,so it becomes real hard for a newbee like me to move it around (i guess its lack of experience). Which petrol have you used in the bike (today we filled 7 litres of speed petrol and not sada since it was not available but my father says go for sada it makes no difference). Also has an1 bought and fitted a gps system in the bike(for security)?? Also a stand to put your mobile so you can use your mobile gps on the bike(for commute directions)???. Even with the abs system i find the front brakes to be not much different than normal brakes and now prefer the back brakes.Ill try to post pictures of the bike tomorrow(i dont have a good camera so bear with the quality). Overall i am happy about the purchase but i dont think the bike is some godlike achievement its main feature which is the engine is kind of not refined (atleast not what i expected ...maybe i had my head in the clouds) It should have been priced around 1lac ,1.5lac is little over but still worth it.I will use this bike till it lasts as i was mainly interested in its chasis (fibre glass) and then later if the engine starts giving problem i will convert it to electric (i am guessing it will be around 3 years down the line) BTw check out this link

The odometer reading was around 20km when we went to pick up the bike. The rs to be honest is a 1 man bike ,unless you have a girlfriend and she is tightly hugging you() i doubt the pillion ride will be comfortable as those grab rails really pain and dont give you proper hold. Also another thing i noticed was when i would rev to around 2k rpm in first gear the bike would stall and the front tyre would skid when the bike stalled and shut of. I dont know the logic behind it. The brake bite is 2 powerful . I didnt get 2 drive the bike on proper road much at all it was mostly all pothole and non tarmac type roads. If you are doing daily traffic and turning with this bike ,you will get tired as its little difficult due to the weight . Its straight line is awesome though goes like a tank. Yes i will treasure the bike ,its a good buy although little bit expensive but its sufficient as it matches and fullfills the purposes which i had bought it for ...... which is style,Reach point b from a and fibre glass chassy to convert to electric later when engine gives problem.

Also Regarding the vibration thing ,most people were mentioning i cant really make out if its vibrating or not(meaning i cant make out if the difference between normal engine functioning and problem vibrating in handles and fairing). My father was saying the skid thing was happening due to the abs system.
