Yes, this is harmful. Will cause the clutch plate wear and tear pretty fast + engine heating. Shift the gear to neutral when on standstill.
Also has any1 gone to pune from mumbai via the highway ,i went via car today and found not 1 bike along the way ( are bikes banned on that highway??)
Yes, bikes are not allowed on the Express Highway. There is a hefty fine/chances of vehicle getting impounded if somebody manages to enter that highway on bike. To travel, the old Mumbai Pune highway could be used.
BTW Dragonprince, do not use high pressure water to clean the radiator, the fins may get bent.
Also, was the wait for the bike worth it? I remember your condition when you were waiting/fighting with the dealer for the delivery of the bike...

No problem with that. The slip is just a proof that you have given an amount of Rs5000 to the dealer for booking.Originally posted by akhilpv View Post
I also got a slip from them but nothing about the 'RS 200 ' is mentioned in it. Should i do something?

. The bike was worth the wait
just 2 drawbacks which are hard to ignore which are the weight and the low mileage. Did you manage to fix the back tyre squeaky noise??

I have not been thorough the complete process but filled in 7 ltrs of gas when I first got my rs200 and the reserve came in flashing at 290 kms, will get the actual mileage figure after approximately 290 more kms.Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostLatest figures:

Got a proactive call from the probiking service center in my city, which was a reminder of 1st service due and the head mechanic talked to me and asked me to meet him when ever I visit the service center to get my rs200 serviced, So that he can give me better idea of the motorcycle's working and any problem I faced till now gets sorted out properly.
It gives me dejavu because when I first got my 200 dtsi, I got this same royal treatment at probiking.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I had been to service about a week back
i met this service manager from bajaj there.
He told me that running in period is not required for this bike as these are latest generation bikes.
Yes i have read some where that these genration bikes require not more than 500 kms for breaking in the engine.
Can the senior members please comment on this ?
Do we really need such long break in period for this bike ?

Buddy regardless of the Generation of the bike, a new engine -be it a car or a motorcycle- has to be run in (or broken in).Originally posted by DDR View PostI had been to service about a week back

The ideal run in period of this bike I think is 1500-2000 Kms. But I may be wrong so you can refer to the manual for the exact Kms.
During the run in period you must not stay above a certain RPM level for long amount of time. This is because a new engine during operation releases a lot of small metal parts, this process will ultimately determine the way your ride will behave post the run in period.
There are two ways you can break in the engine, it's up to you to decide which ever method you are comfortable with.
I'll update this post with some links, and senior members can correct me if I am wrong.
Here is an article that explains it better.
Happy Riding!Last edited by Minisoda; 06-07-2015, 09:18 PM.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hello everyone I am Anurag and this is my very first post on xbhp. i have booked a Pulsar RS200 on 10th of May at Rolta Bajaj, kolkata(My very first bike). they promised me that i will get it delivered on or before 10th June but yesterday when i called the showroom the sales representative told me that it will take another 14-15 days, so if are there any other guys from kolkata who have brought this bike then please let me know what was your waiting period and what can i do to get it delivered on time. This is my very first bike so i am having sleepless nights and it will continue this way until i bring it home.
Cheers!!XBHP!!!!

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Well that's not a shocker because I got 50 kmpl non stop on my 6 yrs old pulsar 180 dtsi ug4 and 45 kmpl on my 7 yrs old 200 dtsi.Originally posted by HyperRetard View PostThats 40+.
Part of the credit goes to the traffic conditions of vizag which has lots of back roads and highway which has less amount of traffic, so I guess 40 plus is not a bad figure.
