Interesting username you've got there! Would be awkward when you buy another bike and are still active on this forum...

Hello Everyone! Been following this thread from day one to come to a decision. And that decision became a YES! Got my yellow RS200 ABS version yesterday. Booked it on the 6th of June from Popular Bajaj Bannerghatta Road, Bangalore and received it on the 19th of June. So the waiting time wasn't all that bad. When I first walked into the showroom to enquire about the bike, they weren't all that serious and infact told me that it will take 35-40 days for delivery and there was no test ride vehicle but when I went there another day and started talking money and filling out the form, they said it will only take 2 weeks and gave me test ride on what I presume was another customer's bike which was there for service (saw them taking out of the service center as well). I don't think I'll be too pleased if they do that with my vehicle. Anyway, I LOVE the bike. Definitely an attention grabber. People wanted to take pictures and were quite surprised that it was a product from Bajaj. My first bike was a Bajaj Pulsar 150 DTSi which was launched in 2007. And, that too caught people's attention then. Anyway its been 7 years and it was time to retire her . Coming to the new RS200, its huge in a way that I like it maybe because I'm a heavy set person aka Fat and if I'm right, there's no other bike in this category that looks as big as the RS. The front is heavy but not in a bad way probably because I'm not all that into the performance track racing stuff I guess. The service engineer told me that I'll have to run in the engine by keeping the speed below 60kmph for the first 2000 kms (that's not what it says in the manual though). Went on a 170km ride today and I could feel that the bike comes alive after the 70kmph mark and over 6k RPM but I didn't go over that to make sure I dont screw up the engine in the long run. Gear shifting is smooth, atleast for an ex-pulsar owner (gear-shifts were horrible in the earlier models). Love the twin projector headlights. It's quite powerful and has a good wide spread. The MRF Zappers are really good. Infact, when I went on my ride today, it was quite windy but the weight of the bike plus the tyres kept it planted on the road. The seating position is very comfortable and foot pegs are perfectly placed. So far I've had 3 pillions and all of them said the pillion seat was pretty comfortable. My girl didn't want me to get the bike because she thought the pillion seat was too high. To prove her wrong, I borrowed my friend's R15 V2 and went on rides with her for a week. She now thinks that the RS's pillion seat is the most comfortable thing on the planet. See what I did there . Oh and I've noticed that thud sound from the front when I go over humps at around 30kmph. Anyone figure out what's happening yet? Sounds to me like the fairing is hitting somewhere or something along those lines. Luckily, I haven't felt any of the vibrations that some people are talking about. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to a long relationship with my new baby

has anyone noticed a difference in braking between the ABS and non-ABS variant ? is the single channel ABS worth the extra amount or does it not make much of a difference ?

Is the service really that bad ? is it an issue with their technicians or management ?

About the ABS, YES!!!! If you feel your safety is worth more than 14k, go for ABS version. It has been three months since I brought home the bumblebee and there has already been one incident where ABS was useful. This is when I am still in run-in and have never exceeded 70 kmph. I was driving behind a car in congested traffic and there was a Pulsar 220 besides me. Suddenly, an auto rickshaw changed lane in front of the car. The car braked hard. I and P220 braked hard too. I stopped inches before the car, P220 had a skid and rammed into the car.Imagine if same thing happened on a highway with speed of 100+

About the service, it is about numbers. As there are so many bikes Bajaj sells, the workshops are always full. So, they are not able to give full attention to every bike that comes. Thankfully, it has not happened with me but there are tons of horror stories here. The management looks ok, they do respond to if customer complains.

Hi rachitsharma2000 you are very matured in your answers and all your advice are superb. what is the mileage of the bike in city and high way? Is the fuel efficiency higher than NS due to the addition of fuel injection though its 20 KGs extra? Does the bike vibrate ?

Idle RPM is around 1.7-1.8k! Done with 2800km now. I'm getting 37-40kmpl in my last 4 refills.

Can anyone shed some light if it is worth the effort??

and here is the thread link [xBhp Universal Thread]: Angel / Demon Eyes

I had the same thing in my mind. I really love those angel eyes! But I doubt you can fit them on the RS due to the Projectors. If it has to be fitted, it wont be enclosed and will be exposed And this might damage the light tubes if they get. Correct me if am wrong. If you have any other ideas please share!

Hey guys, thanks for all the knowledge you guys share and the queries you answer. Really appreciate it. I am newbie here and still have a long way to go and learn about everything. Like all of you I am really happy that I got my bike after waiting for so long! This is my first bike and am loving it! Now for my question - I have crossed 1.3K km in my bike and got my first service done too. But I am getting a FE of just 25-30 km/l in city with moderate traffic. Idle RPM is around 1.7K-1.8K. I drive in a sane way without crossing 6-7K RPM. Should I reduce the idle RPM to 1K-1.2K?
And while running there is some kind of sound from the chain, like it is rubbing against a surface. Should I be worried?
Any suggestion is much appreciated! Thanks a ton!
