          Thanks bro...

Latest mileage I got in 100% city drive was ~ 32 kmpl. This was in bumper to bumper peak hour Mumbai traffic.
On 100% highway ride, I got ~ 42 kmpl under extremely sane driving without exceeding 70 kmph.

In comparision with NS, I don't think there will be much difference as you righly mentioned that advantage of FI is negated by the extra weight.

Regarding vibrations, luckily I have not got major issues here. Yes, there are some minor vibrations in foot pegs but not something that take the fun away. I did experience noticable vibrations between 60-70 kmph but they too disappear post 70 kmph. It is not as smooth as a Honda or Yamaha or Suzuki, but if you have driven old generation Pulsar, it is miles ahead.

Hey guys, completed 5000km on my red rs200 today. I am following this thread since the very first post. I had decided to post my review after driving it enough and now i think its time. Here are pros and cons of the bike according to my driving experience of last 5000km

            Pros:
            1) Sitting position is very relaxing compared to r15 and cbr250. Had driven it from Ahmedabad to Baroda and back to ahmedabad, total of 300kms on the same day. No back or wrist pain. Didnt feel like i did 300kms.
            2) Suspensions are perfect for city driving. Absorbs all potholes and provides a comfortable ride.
            3) Even with the added weight compared to NS... Bike doesnt feel like it has that much extra weight. You can easily flick it around and cut through the traffic. And you will fall in in love with bike everytime you corner it hard. Trust me!
            4) Talking about the performance, you need to take it above 7000 rpm to experience the real fun of driving this beast. No vibration at all after you are beyond 75km/hr. Buttery smooth drive at any speed beyond that. Atleast till 120km/hr ( havent gone beyond that :P )

            Cons:
            1) First thing to mention is the gearbox. If you are thinking to get a smooth gearbox like r15 and cbr250 you will be disappointed. Its not smooth at all. Gearing down sometimes stucks and you have to release the clutch to adjust itself and then again try to gear down. I had mentioned this during my 2nd service and after that issue was resolved. But still its not as good as other bikes have it in the same segment.
            2) You will feel vibration below 70km/hr. Mostly between 4.5k - 5k rpm. Not a big deal but should be listed in the cons
            3) Pillion comfort is good for short distance but for long drives it would be real pain.

Cant really think of anything else other than this. Let me know if you guys have any other question. And yeah i am getting around 44km/ltr on highway and 38km/ltr in city.

Nice review. Do u have the ABS or non -ABS RS? does the brake pads differ for non-abs and ABS for RS200 as it does for CBR250.
As i had a CBR250 (never really connected to the bike.never took it beyond 70KMPH (very sedate rider)) (Bought it due to male ego. my GF bought a RE TBTS 350 and i had a FZ16.so got the CBR250....) anyway CBR is smooth no doubt .how would you compare the wind resistance offered by RS200?
How was the service on a 1 to 10 scale? Honda doesn't rate very well on service . i would give them very deserving 1 . why you ask ? 3 service completed and oil filter was never changed until i asked then to give in writing that they don't have it in stock and suddenly they had only one left, it didn't end there...as mechanic took the bike , put it in side stand , opened the oil filter cap (engine oil pouring out on floor)replaced the old one, screwed the cover back, and said you will have to pay for the engine oil top-up. i was angry but laughing inside as its not there fault,,after all would would i expect from a company who sells scooters.
I do like Pulsar RS200 but i was worried about the service of Bajaj but after the CBR fiasco i think Bajaj might well be better than honda as the service mechanic only service bikes the whole day.

Regarding the gear box, It is clunky/clumsy and requires lots of attention to shift gear, In the older carburetor pulsar if you adjusted the rpm and accelerator cable you would have found the perfect engine timing to shift gear with absolute zero error.

I have not tried this method on my pulsar rs 200, firstly because of fi you cannot adjust the idle rpm manually and second thing is I don't know if adjusting the accelerator cable alone will be much help, but its worth the try.

caution: adjusting your ride to your liking requires lots of painful trial and error.

Right now I am used to / like to blip the throttle while down shifting which helps a lot when slowing down and it also gets me out of corners pretty easily and I am always in the right rpm always.

would have loved a slipper clutch in this scenario.

Hey guys, is anyone facing this issue
                  - sometimes it seems under geared - on 6th gear 4k rpm the bike does 50kmph where as it usually does 54kmph.

After shutting it off and then using it after an hour or so it get back to normal i.e. 54kmph at 4k rpm on 6th gear.

Hey guys i wanted to ask ,do we have to cover the fuel input area with a cloth ???. my friend was saying that i should cover it with a cloth to prevent the water from going in the petrol area and diluting it (@_@) . I cant make out if this is required or not. Its already covered with 1 cover so should i put another cover/cloth in the fuel area and then shut the fuel tank????. As it has been raining heavily i haven't really used the bike much its still at 250km since i bought it. Also my bike feels more easier to move now after being in the rain and sun(LOL dont know why) IT feels loosened up. Even i noticed the gear issues, doesnt change proper and sometimes gets stuck and you have to stop and redo it then it goes through. My mileage was quite bad ,i will be going to service the bike soon at 29th of this month ,then i will keep proper track of the mileage by doing full tank to full tank and deducing it.I will also ask the cost to repair the front damage to the bike and let you guys know( i hope its not 2 much). Another con is the thud sounds which come on speed breakers and the sudden noise which comes and disappears on its own from the back wheel region. The bike is not really that easy to flick in traffic as the mirrors come in the way and the turn radius is large. Its lights are a class apart to anything i have seen on the road ,truly functional and cool. Also i wanted to ask when we are taking a steep turn and speed is high like 60 and we want to reduce speed how do we use the brakes and which 1 to use and has any1 installed a travel bag on the bike as i feel it is needed . I am starting to like the bike a lot now , it really grows on you . And the last question i wanted to ask was is our tank a metallic tank or plastic tank (as we get magnet bags which you can attach to the tank but i dont think they will work on the plastic tank so wanted to confirm it before buying it and i dont have magnets at home).

Tank is non magnetic. Will have to get a bag accordingly.
You can try the ones from Viaterra. Had tried it on the bike at the shop, Moto101 Mumbai.
Used Viaterra Claw for long distance. It's a saddle bag. Works brilliantly.

So I got a call from my dealer here in Delhi today. And was surprised to listen something completely in contradiction to what quite a few have faced.

I had booked a Red ABS on May 28. And today I was told if I wanted the yellow colour, I can collect it today, for the Red one I'll have to wait another week.

Is there an artificial scarcity being created for all the variants of the RS200? Such behaviour could indicate towards an imminent price hike. If you're awaiting delivery in more than a month, look into it that you get your beast before the prices are increased.

What!! What's going on with the RS200 man!

I experienced the same, as I had booked a Yellow Non-ABS on 26th May and the showroom manager called me up two weeks ago to say that I could get the Red one earlier. I had politely declined at that time, as I was in love with the Yellow RS only!

After a few days, the manager called me up and said that the price had gone up for the bike and now I'll have to pay 1.35 Lakhs instead of 1.33. I politelty argued and said that how can you do this? I threatened to contact Bajaj directly. But the manager politely said : "Sir, kya karein ab wahin se price badhaya hai. Then I gave up the argument because I had heard somewhere that the cost of bike will be calculated according to the prices applicable on the day of delivery.

But then I heard that no one got the RS200 non-ABS in less than 1.35 lakhs, and then I realized that perhaps that the manager would have made a mistake by quoting me a low price and hence lowering his commissions. So not really a loss, but still....do hazaar ka petrol do mahine chalta mera

In return of those extra 2k rupees, I call him everyday to inquire about my bike's delivery and the bichara has to answer the same to me everyday. I called him up today again and he told me that I will get my bike by the end of this week or pakka before the month end. Let's see. Waiting eagerly for it to adorn the place in my garage! Can't stop looking at the pics and videos of the beast

The gear issue will resolve after the servicing, and after the run-in period (2k KMs), it will become very smooth, so no reasons to worry there.

The only thing I'm wondering about is the thud noise on speed breakers. A lot of RS200 owners on this forum have reported the same problem. A manufacturing defect? No idea. Try going at 15KPH or 10KPH on the speed breakers and then see whether the sounds are there still.
