Guys is installing security alarm on RS 200 is worth the money or the disklock is more than sufficient ?

      Security alarm is - http://www.snapdeal.com/product/hru-...rumbSearch:hru

And yes will it void the warranty of the bike or not ? Please answer it asap .

So I am almost done mentally for the ABS version of the RS. Just a quick question before doing so, should I wait to make the purchase in Jan and register it as a 2016 vehicle, it's just a few more days for the new year to start. Would be make any difference in the long run?

        Thanks

I strongly believe it'll void the warranty! If there's a strong need, the disc lock should suffice.

Thanks for the clarification, but I guess, chances of skidding on muddy roads would always be high in almost any bike out there!

        1) The heat was too much from engine.
        2) When i was getting into 1 gear and slowly giving the race, it was giving some sort of bad sound like it's not a new bike and some issue is there. I was in some hurry at that time so left and would be riding on Monday again.
        3) When i was taking the bake front and back in neutral, i could hear some squeezing sound while going backwards.
        4) Once i apply 4th gear, i feel i have applied a higher gear and then need to up the speed immediately and switch ti fifth gear. Has this happened with someone else as well?

Just to keep everyone regarding vehicle info: It's a week old bike with 310km/s covered with unconventional run in method. Anything that i should specifically check for during my next ride or that requires immediate attention from fellow bikers. I am too worried now whether i have taken the right route of break in or done some damage. I would be able to go for servicing next weekend only and that means addition of more 250km to the drive.

        Cheers!
Well, go show it to the SVC. Sounds like there's a gear slippage, but not sure. Engine can get hot in bumper to bumper traffic and long rides. The squeaking noise, is it sounding like something rusted?

Get the SVC check the swing arm bushing/ scissor like spring setup.

Any functional changes made to the bike will void the warranty, however go and ask the dealership personally whether the alarm system will void it or not.

Technically it doesnt matter because an RS200 built in December of 2015 will be the same as one built in January 2016 unless a NEW model comes out in the time gap.

But if you plan on selling off your bike later on, it becomes a slight issue because most of the buyers are not intelligent enough to understand that theres no difference between a Dec 2015 RS200 and a Jan 2016 RS200.
This issue will come up because you will have to list the bike as 2015 and say for example if a buyer wants to buy this bike in January of 2017 then that means you will have to price the bike according to 1year of usage (from December of 2015 to December of 2016) by counting the months not the year.

If the buyer is not intelligent enough, he will argue with you that your bike is from 2015 (irrespective of what month of the year you bought it in) and hence he will try to negotiate a value according to 2years of usage.

So yes this is something you need to keep in mind other than the mileage and maintenance facts before purchasing the bike.

Buy a 2016 manufactured ,and obviously it will get registered in 2016 as well . Insurance companies take the manufacturing year into account and calculate the depreciation accordingly.
            Hope this help

Has anyone tried Hazard indicators for Rs 200? How much do they cost and will the SVC guys do it for me?

I am skeptical of this voiding the warranty or not. Also has anyone got the center stand for this bike?

Also is there a possibility we can upgrade the non-abs to abs one? I don't think it is. Just a query!

Finally installed the security alarm system on my pulsar RS 200 . I ask service center about warranty voidance if I install security alarm and they said that the warranty will not be void unless Original Wiring is Intact, no tampering at all and my mechanic install it without tampering or cutting the original wire. Feel more safer now .
                Total cost :
                1. Security system from Snapdeal - 500
                2. Mechanic cost - 150.

Well I am moving on from my 2012 Karizma R White tomorrow. Have a buyer who's serious. Now I wanted to wait up till Jan start to get it purchased & registered. If I need to get hold of a Jan 2016 manufactured bike, it could take a while! Isn't it? I always believed the registration month matters as my car's also similar, Dec 2009 Manufactured but 2010 Jan registered.

                  Thanks

Yes, I am sure about that hence asked over here too. I believe all look at the registration date, hence irrespective of when it was manufactured, the date of registration is what makes somewhat of a difference. So what I'd do is wait until Jan 3rd, 2016 and then go clear the payment and have the bike registered. Getting hold of a 2016 manufactured biked would be difficult in the first week of Jan itself, isn't it?

No SVC will not do it, you will have to get it done at a sellers shop. And it involves tampering with the original cables hence it will void your warranty. No you cannot upgrade your bike to ABS version

Insurance companies take the Month of the year not just the year. Deprecation value is counted from the month of registration to every 12months completed. And no its not the same thing, theres a massive difference

Great, so irrespective of the month, it's fine to get it registered in Jan, 2016 to be considered a 2016 registered bike isn't it?

Yes, if it gives you sense of well being, by all means, get it registered in Jan. It will also help you out in future in case you need to sell your bike or if you have OCD issues like me who wants everything to be perfect. For example my insurance date, registration date, PUC date and 4monthly service date fall on the same date.

Actually, I am moving on from my Karizma R 2012. Hence I'd be without a ride for a few days. Which is okay as long as getting the bike in Jan makes sense. If registering it in Jan doesn't help much, then I'd rather get it now as the funds are ready.

Even if you purchase your New Pulsar in Jan u would be getting 2015 model only. 2016 model would be available in Showroom from Feb or March.

Yeah I mentioned that above too. Has anyone managed to fix a main stand for their ride?
