I have asked the same issues in forum many times. But no response. While service I told them to rectify it they just tightened the clamps in the footpegs. But vibration still exist. I suspect mono shock if we adjust this problem may vanish. Because I have experienced this in my 220. After adjusting the shock absorber footpeg vibration vanished. Shock absorber adjustment I have made it soft.

The sound just starts to creep in a second before the vibrations.

Are you sure the problem is because of rear suspension? As the problem occurs only when I try to slow down the speed of bike and vibrations are only coming when I try to brake and downshift the gears. I dnt think rear suspension has to do something with it.

Also, want to know about the thud sound. Did you find any solution for that? As I am also facing this.

The gear box also sometimes feels hard and sometimes smooth. Is it normal?

Even I am not sure the cause for the foot peg vibration. But I just wanted to give a try.

Thud sound I am getting it. It is very hard to rectify. Went to service centre to fix that. First of all the service centre guy thought that sound comes from fork. So he just adjusted the cone set and gave a trial. Spent 2 hours to rectify that and had 3 trials. No luck at all. After coming home I just opened the plastic part which is around Instrument cluster. I rode it on potholes and observed that the sound comes from Instrument cluster. But I could not rectify the problem. Just checked all the cables and everything fine.

Even I feel the gear box hard, but whenever I feel hard for Up shift I will increase the RPM to 4K and Shift it. For reducing I will wait the RPM level to come down around 2.5K.

I am talking about the bigger plastic part. It will have 6 screws on it.

I will update it once the problem is solved.

Remove fairing and see the difference.

I think that is not so easy. Right now i dont have any fairing vibration problem. If we remove the fairing it may lead to some other problem.

Removing fairing gets rid of dead weight , and this fairing is what if loose will make thud noise.
Also by removing it you can inspect if something is loose inside .
Handle cone set doesnt need replacement till 30-40k kms/

Guys, I had got my bike 4-5 days before.
I had been redlining and sudden accelerating the bike as someone has told me to rev it hard(in this forum itself).
Is it good for the bike or am I doing irreversible damage to the bike and its parts?
I have drove 100 kms till now and reached 123km/hr.
Suggest me what to do next.
Should I continue with this method or stick to the user manual?

What's the point in asking this question now? Redline to glory and its effect will reveal pretty soon.

Btw.. can you mention who told you to do so ??

                      Ride safe and have fun.

Dont rev it very hard and dont do sudden acceleration for at least 1000kms. Revving linearly is somewhat okay (but not to the red line). But sudden acceleration may lead to tappet noise and may create timing chain noise. Following the manual is bit hard. Till first service dont exceed 5K RPM. Since you have revved hard, check the oil color if possible change the oil with oil filter. Because if you "breaking the engine" in easy way method ( as per manual) you can change the oil as per manual. But if you are hard breaking then you have to change the oil in short interval.

My suggestion is dont rev it to the red line. Also stays below 7K RPM. Dont forget to change the oil.

Brooooo.. Please do not follow whosoever told you to rev up the engine hard from day 1 itself. Its best to break in the engine using the manual and linearly as has already been mentioned on here and also in your manual.

Well.. You could use Motoman's method for breaking the engine in however there is a certain methodology to that too. By redlining so early in engine life you are putting way too much strain for it to withstand.

With all due respect, the RS has a masterpiece of an engine, doing what you are doing will only destroy it. And I am sure you don't wanna do that... Sooooo... Ride sane ride safe.

                            Thanxx a lot brothers,
Now I'll stick to the manual itself and is it really very necessary to change the engine oil and filter?

                            ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

And where is its oil filter located?
And the same filter is to be used in it which is used in the other 180dts-i pulsar or any other one ?

Personally, hard breaking a engine wont do much but increase your maintenance cost of the bike by 30-50% depending on how hard you rev that monster.
Best way to run in the engine is to follow manual but also increase the limit from manual by 500 to 1000 rpm that way you do a proper run in with performance included and your maintenance cost will stay normal or increase by 10%. Remember if you will be doing alot of TOP end speeding then running in over 1000 rpm helps in turning for better top end. while staying with manual will help it over all.

PS:- this is just my way of doing the run ins with the bikes i play with including a 220 f( ran one with manual and the 2nd one with the way i showed you the 2nd bike had a higher top end then the 1st 220 i run in), activa. This is just my opinion.
