I hope you checked the ODO reading to make sure your bike wasn't used for test rides. The reading shouldn't be more than 12km I guess.

I'm a bit disappointed to hear that the pillion experience is not up to the mark, but I'm pretty sure most of us would be revving the bike alone. Still, it should have been better. @rachitsharma2000 please clear this point. Let's see how I feel about it when I get my RS.

I have heard a lot of great feedback about the brakes though, so the skidding I think resulted from pushing the brakes too heard. @rachitsharma2000 please advise. I hear that the brakes in the RS are very sharp and it will take a while to get acquainted with them properly, so give it a little practice.

Even a beginner like me knows that it takes a while to get familiar with the Pulsar gears, so don't worry. After the run-in period, they'll become butter smooth and you won't ever hit the neutral accidentally.

But the one problem, which I think can be an issue, is the stalling that you noticed and the fact that you had to rev it up to 3-4k to start it. I don't think that is natural and you should see the service center about it. @rachitsharma2000 What say?

Even I would like to know what kind of petrol you must use in the RS- normal or Power? Also, the engine oil that Bajaj guys use at the service center- is it mineral or synthetic? Please help us on these points @rachitsharma2000.

Congrats again, and take care of this bike. I'm sure it will be a gem! Do post the pics of your bike and your experience with it. Enjoy your ride bro!
    1. Pillion experience: Not very good, I agree. But there are two aspects here. One, it gets better with time as the seats get softer. Two, it is still better than it's competitors (R15 and RC200). As far as I know, same seat setup is used in NS, RS and AS. I have not heard many complains from NS long term owners so I thing it gets better.
    2. Regarding brakes, please remember that the brakes too need running-in. When you take the bike out of showroom, brakes are NOT operating at 100%. Initially, they should be applied progressively and sudden braking should be avoided.
    3. revving while starting: I think Dragonprincemeant that when he tries to move the bike from 0 in first gear, he needs to give a higher throttle. This is normal for first time riders. Once you get familiar with your bike, you dont need to give such high RPMs.
4, Regarding petrol, I got to admit I am highly nonchalant. I tried premium petrol years ago and did not find it exciting enough. So, I have been using sada petrol since. But it is a personal opinion. I have friends who will fight me to death if we start arguing on this topic . I would suggest, try it once and decide yourself.

If you can't make out the vibration, there are no vibrations as far as you are concerned. Thats good for you . Waise, even I don't feel any vibrations on my bike. But my last bike was 2005 model Karizma R, so I am quite used to old bike vibrations.

Actually, ABS system is meant to prevent that. But right now, your brakes need running-in. Apply them progressively and avoid sudden braking. In about 50 km, they will start functioning at their 100% and will keep you happy.

      Ride safe and take care!

PS: The only place where braking distance of ABS can be higher than normal brakes is on gravel/loose sand. So, in such conditions, be extra careful!

It would be a blast to drive this bike from Kozhikode to Wayanad!!! When I was studying in Kozhikode, we used to hire old bikes (mostly splendors and Pulsars) and head to Wayand for a weekend getaway!!!

It sounds like a thud and the people at the showroom weren't able to rectify it and took help from KTM guys. Even they weren't able to sort it out and said that this is present with all the bikes. I rode other bike available with them and found the same issue.

Although, there is no noise if I treat the speed bump with respect and creep over it similar to something a Honda city would do on Indian speed bumps. I feel the issue is with shock absorbs and was wondering if any of you guys can duplicate the problem for me.

Repost - the issue is still not resolved. However, we observed that the noise would only be there when there is a speed bump or an raised surface and not when there is a pot hole or a dent in road. The staff at svc insisted on leaving the bike for a day and happened to rip the the bike right in front of my eyes. I grabbed him by his collar and asked what's the need of ripping the bike in 'run in' when the issue reported isn't related to engine. I am totally frustrated with these guys.

Please let me know if anyone else has been facing a similar issue.

          Thanks,

I also noticed the noise but it used to come when I pass through a pot hole and not through speed bumps.. Noise is certainly from shockups as if the shock up is going completely in and making noise.

Damn. Should i buy this? Some friends discouraged me about this bike because it's a Bajaj engine and it gives a lot of problems. Anyone have opinion about this?

I also went above a few speed breakers today and found the bike hits the speed breaker and a thud sound comes if done at speeds like 10km or 15km (i am guessing the bike hits the speedbreaker in the down section) I had a pillion guy who weighs roughly 70kg and i who weighs 80kg so total weight is 150+165=315. The noise only came when the speed breaker was there ,it has never come on potholes and the breaks are also becoming better ,the skidding thing has almost stopped. I have managed to start the bike 1nce in 2k rpm But only 1nce otherwise i need to rev it to 3k to start it.The signals are so scary !!!!!!!!!!!! . I stalled 3 times when the signal started evry1 is like MOVE MOVE . Then i got it right but i ended up going to 20 km/hr in first gear(panic mode) but overall trying to use it smoothly . I noticed you dont need to really rev the bike and go above 4k marker ever unless your racing.
I wanted to how long does the first service take and what do they usually do in the first servicing???? i doubt i am going to go 500 km anytime soon so my servicing is gonna mostly be inbetween 30-45 days. Overall i am very happy with the bike as it has the cool quotient and it works nice and i am now getting used to it. Turning in neutral is Painstaking but if you do it in first gear with proper nudges in throttle it does become easier But still tiring but less.In essence moving the bike without engine power is a magnanimous task . I love the back brake and the way it performs ,bike is stable and its really comfortable. I noticed that sometimes if you rest your foot slightly on the clutch lever it may downshift (it usually has happened from 2 into neutral ). I will post the photos tomorrow(in the sunlight) . Although for this segment it offers good mileage but i am do kind of miss the 100 cc petrol thing (1 liters used to never end). I also have 1 last question i wanted to ask ,which is how much is the fuel capacity of the rs ?? It says 13liters but is that full 13 or is reserve also included in that??

The engine of the New gen pulsar have been technically advanced that to old gen pulsar and surely anyone who uses a 200 ns would recommend to go for it because it's engine is a gem.
And so it goes for rs200 that shares the same engine of 200ns but with fi and few more advancement.[emoji5]
I would say you can perfectly go for rs200 rather then it's competitors like r15 n rc200.[emoji1]

I gave the bike at 8:30 am and got it back at 3 pm. It is highly advisable that you give it early morning before traffic starts coming in. The workshop was Sai Service near Amboli junction. For things done in first service, you can refer the owner's manual. It is all there.

One last thing, service interval is the earlier of 30 days/500 km. So if you complete the 500 km mark before 30 days, go to the service station without waiting for 30 days to get over.

13 liters is inclusive of reserve.

Can you go to any bajaj service center or do you have to go only to the sai service 1?
ALso in the pamphlet he has given me it mentions only 2 workshops
1 is is near amboli(andheri west) and other is Borivali east dattapada road.
Also does your rs also hit speed breakers in the under section and make a thud noise ?? Did you wait and watch them do the service or did you just leave it with them and come back later and collect it?
                      also thanks for the replies.
Also when i tell the petrol filler at the petrol station to put full tank ,it means he will put roughly 13 liters in the bike correct?.
Last question rachit sharma ,are you sure there was some green line in the tire of the bike when you had taken it ??? also what was the odometer reading when you had just picked up your bike ??? Although it doesnt matter now and anyway i am happy with my bike but just wanted to know for peace of mind.

You can get your bike serviced at any Bajaj authorized service center, it need not be just Sai SS.

I never noticed it closely enough. My office has a couple of speed breakers, will check that tomorrow.

I dont think they allow anybody to wait and watch. Plus, I had office, so didnt even bother asking.

                        also thanks for the replies.

                        Most welcome buddy

No, because the bike would already have some petrol in it, so petrol filled will always be less than 13L.

Last question rachit sharma ,are you sure there was some green line in the tire of the bike when you had taken it ??? also what was the odometer reading when you had just picked up your bike ??? That's a tough question! I was in a euphoria of buying + it was very late, so I do not remember if I checked that or not...

The odometer reading was around 30 km when I picked it. I remember that because they told me it had come from the warehouse directly + RTO distance. I did not mind that because I knew that they were not offering test drive till that time. So, it was unlikely that my bike was used as a test drive vehicle.

One last thing, since this is your first bike, spend some time understanding counter steering (if you already don't) . It is a very useful concept and will help you immensely when you would be driving in high speeds.

Completed close to 200kms on my yellow claw rs200, few pointers I love about this motorcycle are as follows

                                * Its absolute ease to drive attitude is just amazing any gear any speed no matter how much load is on it, It never disappoints as the torque is always there(sometimes I forget what gear I am in as it just pulls with little effort on clutch and accelerator).

*The tank pad is welcome addition and as I previously owned a pulsar 180 ug4, the sitting position is absolute spot on for me.

*was babying my yellow claw for few days and all of sudden with my brother accompanying me as pillion, I decided to do a small sound test in a underground road in my city and man before I could listen to the sound the torque was so immense under hard acceleration, it didn't give wheelie but it threw us both back into our seats(we didn't except that amount or torque from a 11000 red line beast).

Now some things I didn't like are

                                * The handle grip are absolutely awful cheap and S*%T, it leaves my palms in pain(I know wearing a pair of gloves will solve it, but still the grips are not good)

                                * I miss the centre stand, hopefully bajaj starts selling paddock stand(Anybody from Chennai know any place where I can find cheap paddock stand please help me, I would appreciate it very much.

*little vibration near right foot peg, after 10kms of riding finally zeroed it to be the break lever as the culprit(aur break se yaad aya, bajaj brembo is selling S**T to you still the break is same as it was on 220 absolute wooden, you take all the customer feed back and send them home with wooden breaks???)

*rear breaks are horrible no bite no feel, on the right side there is two foot rest one is the regular foot peg and the other is the "break" lever(people don't tell me that breaks need to run in!!!! its not a moto gp motorcycle its just a road motorcycle, Its dangerous to sell motorcycle with such poor break, newbies after finding hard to control the motorcycle using rear break are first forced to then habituated to use front disk, which destroys the front fork seals, sudden breaking causing unnecessary rear collisions and last it gives you free family planning).

I know most of niggles are silly and a pro rider or more experienced rider(mind you not old) won't even care for it but most people buying rs200 are college going kids, so bajaj hope you are listening please improve the breaks( Now I understand why bajaj opted to provide abs only to front break).
Bajaj is so chalu, but still the best compared to others.

P.S : No matter how costly the motorcycle is and what is the design, I use it for daily use and I even take my motorcycle to the barber shop nearly 1km away from home, so all the negatives do matter to me.
