Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Yes your engine gets damaged in the long run. Do follow the run in period properly. While taking the delivery of the bike make sure it has less than 25kms on the odo.Originally posted by hardymccrea View Post

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I get what your saying it is harmful to the engine and all but there is no way for you to verify it other than with time And as long as the revving is done for 30km or less it is in the most likely no harm done phase.getting overly apprehensive and paranoid about it will make only you suffer. Even i was tense about it but now in retrospect it doesnt really matter much. Basically dont bother much about things which are beyond your control and do the normal inspection and little bit use here and there is fine like 35km. They have insurance and warranty for up to 2years so if a engine defect does occur they will/should replace it.Overall go with a happy mind and it will go well keeping in mind all the suggestions made by the various members who have received the rs in this thread and general bike owners. And sm1 above mentioned about the rs performance, its low speed is very silent and doesnt feel good but if you go to higher speeds anything beyond 60 it starts to feel good and the bike starts to become more enjoyable (basically good for touring and tough for start- stop daily incity traffic.) Also the clutch is awfully tight and is meant for racing and not incity driving so if you have more incity driving they can loosen it for you (i havent done it yet but when i go for the first servicing i will get it done) and i found the braking on the bike little bit inadequate (this is my first bike so i dont know if this is me being new to bikes or a bajaj break issue) you press it mildly it does it 2 slow ,if you do it hard the bike goes in the stopee position and the back break has to be pressed really hard for considerable stopping power. near the express highway i was 30 speed when the car guy suddenly braked and i had sufficient distance but the bike managed to only slow till 10-15. i used the back first and then the front but it was over in few seconds so i am not really sure the front got proper traction all in all the brakes are kind of hard to get used to.Overall the bike is really nice just a few glitches here and there which would have made things much more enjoyable if they were corrected by bajaj.Originally posted by hardymccrea View PostU didn't get my question right the rs200 manual says u should not ride above 4k rpm till 2k km but after the recent incident i am concerned if the engine gets damaged it will affect me in long run ( just don't wont my bike to be Handeled that way)

Even i had told the bajaj lady when the bike comes to their warehouse to give me temporary registration (which you can actually just use for 1 day according to the rules but this is india so 1 week) and she had said yes will do and then she did everything according to her pleasure and i only got the bike after final registration so as i said you can tell them and they will agree to you but 1nce you have paid the money (even if its just booking) you cant make sure she follows it other than by pure power of will which will require you to phone the lady everyday 4-5 times and still no guarantee. My bike was with them for more than 1 week and i am pretty sure they have driven it around but as i said it doesn't matter as long as everything is functioning and odometer is showing less than 35km. Mine was showing 20 i think(i have written the exact figure somewhere in this forum). Mind you they can also refresh the odometer its 100% possible but that takes effort on their part and they prefer not to do that.Originally posted by Dragonprince View PostI get what your saying it is harmful to the engine and all but there is no way for you to verify it other than with time And as long as the revving is done for 30km or less it is in the most likely no harm done phase.getting overly apprehensive and paranoid about it will make only you suffer. One of my frend said that getting bike from local delear (not the bajaj showroom) will really help me get a quick delivery + they give some free accessories (helmets puc bike cover) at the same rate or may be even less + they respect customers n deliver on timeOriginally posted by Dragonprince View PostEven i had told the bajaj lady when the bike comes to their warehouse to give me temporary registration (which you can actually just use for 1 day according to the rules but this is india so 1 week) and she had said yes will do and then she did everything according to her pleasure and i only got the bike after final registration so as i said you can tell them and they will agree to you but 1nce you have paid the money (even if its just booking) you cant make sure she follows it other than by pure power of will which will require you to phone the lady everyday 4-5 times and still no guarantee. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I think this might have happened due to tyres not the brakes. Tyres requires good amount of time around 200-300kms run for getting usable for daily rides. Fresh sets of Tyres won't give you much bite. As you said you are new to biking try other bikes for testing brakes and then compare yours. Can you tell me when this incident happened and how much kms you did cover and road conditions.Originally posted by Dragonprince View Posti found the braking on the bike little bit inadequate (this is my first bike so i dont know if this is me being new to bikes or a bajaj break issue) you press it mildly it does it 2 slow ,if you do it hard the bike goes in the stopee position and the back break has to be pressed really hard for considerable stopping power. near the express highway i was 30 speed when the car guy suddenly braked and i had sufficient distance but the bike managed to only slow till 10-15. i used the back first and then the front but it was over in few seconds so i am not really sure the front got proper traction all in all the brakes are kind of hard to get used to.Overall the bike is really nice just a few glitches here and there which would have made things much more enjoyable if they were corrected by bajaj.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hey guys !!..
Was confused between the KTM RC 200 and the RS 200 ? I am well aware about the statistics of both the bikes? Need to know a first hand owner experience, if anyone could help.
I was considering to go with the RS200 given the fact that the RC 200 has a very aggressive riding posture and I do go on long/short rides often.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi ankit,Originally posted by Ankitsingh007 View PostIt's as simple by just turning the keys to on position and the lights on high beam position.
Press the dipper switch.
If further any query do contact me.[emoji5]
want the lights (at least pilot lamps and console) to work when engine is off.
tried doing what you said. ignition to ON position, beam switch to high position. pressed pass button (dipper) on left side near clutch. high beam flashed but lights still dont come on without engine running. so it didnt work.
could you please explain a bit more??
EDIT: I was trying on my 200AS. Is the above only for 200RS?Last edited by guptavis; 06-11-2015, 03:34 AM.

And then press the dipper switch?
And yes I guess it works for all pulsar!Last edited by Ankitsingh007; 06-11-2015, 03:42 AM.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Well this was temporary solution ofcource.Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostAnd I was thinking some electrical wizardery is required
... Thanks...
And If you are willing to make it permanent then you might neend to do a little glitch with battery to remove the Battery saver mode permanently.Last edited by Ankitsingh007; 06-11-2015, 03:43 AM.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I would seriously doubt this. The dealer told me that demand for yellow color is much more than the red color. So, IMO this could be a ploy of the dealer to sell off the remaining Red ones in inventory. You should cross check the availability from other dealer as well.Originally posted by akhilpv View PostSame thing happened to me as well .The dealer informed me that the yellow RS production is temporarily stopped so for getting my ride , i should change my colour option

I was also in the same dilemma before making the purchase. I am sure you would have read a lot of good and bad things about both the bikes, so I will not go there. Let me share the specific reasons that made me buy this one:Originally posted by Astrix View PostHey guys !!..

1. Relaxed seating. Although a lot of bikers have done touring on RC200, still I personally felt that RS is more suitable for touring after I test rode the RC. I felt my weight entirely on my wrist and thought that it would be unsuitable for long distances. People told me that it gets better with time but I was unwilling to take that chance.
2. Pillion Comfort: There is no comparision here. My wife told that she was extremely uncomfortable on RC.
3. ABS: Again a huge factor tilting balance in favor of RS. Since I will be using the bike on long rides, I wanted the security of ABS.
4. Cost: It is about 40k less expansive than RC
I have done a short 6 hrs ride so far on this bike and I am extremely happy about my decision.Last edited by rachitsharma2000; 06-11-2015, 11:27 AM.Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Sorry dost, I would not be able to help you on this due to my limited knowledge on ECUs. Moreover, I plan to run my bike in stock condition. Could you please share what you have in mind as the objectives of ECU remap?Originally posted by Pawan Kajla View Posthey RACHIT SHARMA, u owned a rs200... so pls provide some imformation about the ecu... m booked my rs200 abs yellow color, and i want to remap its ecu as soon as i get this bumble bee (transformer).
Hmmm, that's interesting. I would not know about the actual scenario and quoted what dealer told me + my observations based on that. BTW where is the showroom you talked about?Originally posted by Pawan Kajla View Postbt my dealer said that.. pulsar rs200 red color demand is heavy than yellow... a truck is unloading on sight.. truck is having 50 bikes.. there is 2 piece of yellow color rs200 and other all in red color...Riding a bike is like flying.... Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
You can mapp ur ecu for either performance/ f.e but u can't get both. Bajaj has most probably tuned the ecu for performance + mileage if u try to re tune u will hav to sacrifice something. It is just a suggestion don't really tweak it before the run in period to actually feel the stock power of ur transformerOriginally posted by Pawan Kajla View Posthey RACHIT SHARMA, u owned a rs200... so pls provide some imformation about the ecu... m booked my rs200 abs yellow color, and i want to remap its ecu as soon as i get this bumble bee (transformer).
if ur still not satisfied then go for that .do check it if that voids the bikes warranty
