    Hi Guys,

Can people in Bangalore let me know how many days it took for for the showroom guys to deliver the bike?

      Hi Everyone,

We took delivery a couple of days back and while I was driving around town I noticed that the bike would make noise from the area below the handle bar if taken over a speed bump at around 15-20 KPH. It sounds like a thud and the people at the showroom weren't able to rectify it and took help from KTM guys. Even they weren't able to sort it out and said that this is present with all the bikes. I rode other bike available with them and found the same issue.

Although, there is no noise if I treat the speed bump with respect and creep over it similar to something a Honda city would do on Indian speed bumps. I feel the issue is with shock absorbs and was wondering if any of you guys can duplicate the problem for me.

Done with 1.8k KM. Last tank full gave me 43kmpl. I was riding at 6-7k RPM. Very happy with the performance. Can't wait to hit 2.5k KM and fill in Motul Synthetic!

          Hi Laxman,

Do you find any thud noise when you go over a speed bump as detailed by MSalman in the above thread?

I think your coneset is loose. I had the same problem in my ns after completing 5k kms. The svc guys tightned it and everything became normal.

Hi, excuse my ignorance. This is my first post on xBhp and I'm buying a bike for the first time, and have zeroed in on the RS200 over the CBR250R and R-15 due to various reasons.

I'm yet to book the motorcycle, but I'm most likely to do so in the next one week or so. Just wanted to know the checklist for PDI of the RS200.

At some of the threads, I think people have considered the PDI checklist of 200NS for the RS200.

Is it the same, or anything more that I should be looking for?

Thanks, I hope I become a regular on this forum.

Welcome to the group buddy. For PDI, please refer to page 12 of this post. Essentially, RS = NS + fairing + FI + ABS. So, most of the PDI pointers will match that of NS.

I had the cone-set checked and the entire fairing was dissembled to check the issue. We are just told to live with it and that makes me upset.

I also have a note to the guys who are yet to take delivery - With so many cuts and slashes on fairing it needs an eye to spot scratches on the bike. I myself did the PDI for this one but realized that I did not notice this sticker peeling off on the fairing(Its more like a scratch and starts from the center of the sticker), fortunately the paint did not come off. We rejected one other bike for delivery because the seat wouldn't open up so we were getting restless which led to me overlooking the scratch.

This other guy who was there for delivery of yellow RS had noticed a scratch on the face of the bike and refused to take the delivery. I suggest that each of you ensure a thorough check in sunlight, bend and try looking at the bike from different angles.

Thanks Rachit. One more thing. I've read the RS200 doesn't have a main stand, so how exactly to check the aligning/balancing of the wheels?

You got me there! As paddock stands are generally not available with the dealer, I do not know how to do that. Maybe experienced members could shed some light here...

Alignment can be checked via the old school way. Ride over a patch of water and see if both tires fall in line while riding straight.
Balancing is usually perfect on factory bikes but you can get it inspected at any car shops. SVCs usually don't have the machinery.

Sent from my phone. Kindly avoid it while riding.

                          Mileage update:

Got a mileage of 42 kmpl under extremely sane driving style (never exceeding 70 kmph). This is after the first service, therefore I think marks the upper limit of my machine...

                          Total distance: 211 km
                          Petrol: 5 L
                          Method: tank to tank
                          Condition: 90% highway drive.

Thanks Akash. Flickability is fine in traffic although not as good as my old Karizma. It takes some time to get accustomed to a new bike I guess. The width of the bike can be a bit troublesome in conditions like moving between two closely parked stationery buses. Other than that, I do not face any difficulty in moving in high bumper to bumper traffic. But then, I am not the furious flicker types and prefer moving in a single line.

Hi, there's another issue that comes to my head. I apologise in advance if it's already been discussed.

Does the bike have a kickstart? Or is the electric start our only resort?

Bajaj has launched the bike only recently and it won't be at least another 6-7 months till we experience winters. I read that manufacturers are now getting done with kickstart, especially in such heavy CC motorcycles. And then what to really do in winters, or if the bike remains parked for more than a week or so? Bump-start?

Please if you could shed some light on this.

                                Thanks.
