Okay. I am considering RS, but a bit skeptical about bajaj quality being an owner of pulsar 180.

I too was never a fan of Bajaj. In fact I was an owner and a true blood Karizma fanboy for a loooong time (Till I saw the new Karizma!). Start from their launch, I did not think too kindly of a Pulsar. But this all changed after the launch of NS. Finally, RS got me hooked.

Bajaj has come a long way since Pulsar 150/180 were launched. Take a test ride and find it out yourself.

when did you book the bike and when did you receive the bike ???? Did the owner/employee present there ask you to pay the full amount so they can allot you the bike immediately when it comes or did you pay the full amount after delivery?
How did you do , on the spot inspection of the bike before registration and after registration to check for manufacture defects?
Can you plz provide the rs 200 manual (preferably in pdf form) on this forum?.
I had booked my rs on 29th march in sai service(andheri) and even paid the full amount money ,but the bike hasnt been delivered till now ,even my the call for allotment has not come till now (god only knows when they will take it to the rto). I have gone for the yellow model(abs) . I am getting fed up of waiting and thinking of cancelling the booking and getting a refund and buying a cbr 250r with abs for roughly around1-1.25lacs second hand .
PS:This is my first bike and i do not how to drive yet(although i do have a license)
also what were the documents you were required to provide for registration at the rto if you want the bike in your name (will drivers license for identity and residence proof do , along with electricity bill )???
Sorry for all the questions ,i am a newbie/paranoid buyer and just want to avoid any rude shocks or the feeling of being cheated. I want my first buy 2 be a pleasant 1.

I booked the bike on 24th March. This was before the bike was officially announced. Paid an advance of Rs 5k with the assurance that I can cancel the bike if I dont like it. Full amount was to be paid once the bike gets delivered to the showroom. I think mine was the first booking of RS200.

I went with the PDI of 200NS + some pointers from CBR PDI. This list is available in the first few pages of the NS ownership thread. The showroom guys will tell you that they have already done PDI at their Borivali warehouse but still insist on PDI/ do one yourself. Let me know if you cant find the PDI, I'll post it here.

Sure, will do it once I reach home.

Usually the full amount is paid only when the bike arrives in the showroom. A waiting period of 1-2 months is normal for any newly launched bike. I waited for 3 months for a CBR250R, even then had to cancel the booking due to production cease .

Ask showroom guys where exactly the bike is: at RTO/showroom/warehouse/Bajaj factory and ask for a definative date for delivery. If the bike is not delivered even then, tell them you will cancel the booking and post a formal complain to Bajaj.

Driving license for ID proof is fine. Regarding the address proof, Mumbai RTO is very particular. If you have a passport/electricity bill on your name, it would be fine. If you are showing rent agreement + owner's eletricity bill, they will ask you some money under the table..
No problem buddy, answers in bold. Hope that the joy of first ride superseeds the pain of acquiring it.

Should be 20w50 bike engine oil since 200ns has same oil requirements.

                      My short experience

                      Pros :-
Looks are killer as per my opinion and it looks huge, It definitely grabs eye balls and in my ride, I have easily got over 100 ppl getting a second look at the bike.
Exhaust sound is good enough and it gets better as you gear up to the top.
Handling is just too good, you never seem to loose control over the bike even at high speeds, all the feeling of a huge bike goes off once you get over the driving seat. I am truly amazed how easily I am able to manoeuvre this bike through the potholes.
Suspension is good enough to take on the bumps.
Twin projector head lights are an absolute winner illuminating up the entire pitch dark road with an intensity as such that even the buses and trucks were asking for dipper.
Mileage :- Won't be able to predict the absolute figure as of now, but it definitely gave over 40 kmpl on highway.

                      Cons :-

Seats are hard as of now and you will feel the need of more cushioning as you ride for a stretch of 50kms or more.
I don't know if this happens on all sports bike but you feel the vibrations on the handlebar, and as you ride on for longer period, your hands will start to get numb (literally). So you are better off carrying your riding gloves along.

This is all for now, feel free to ask me if you wanna know abt anything else though I m not an experienced rider.

P.S. :- Can anyone confirm who already got the bike that this bike doesn't come along with the main stand, coz mine didn't came with one (noticed it after I came home, coz we got delivery at 6pm and we were in a rush to drive back 170 kms.)
They also charged me Rs 415 for the side stand which leaves me in a doubt that they wrongly charged this amount from me as it didn't came even with the main stand.

No..RS doesn't have main stand and I wasnt charged for side stand at all!

I know for the fact that both the projector lamps are on for high beam. I'm curious if we can do the same low beam as well? In review videos it seems that only 1 projector works for low beam.

To my utter surprise, I was told that test ride was available only on pre-booking the bike. I asked them what if I didn't like the bike after the test ride. I was shocked to hear the answer, "we'll deduct 30% of the booking amount".
I immediately sent an email to Bajaj service support and two days later, I was at the same dealership for the test ride. It was a very short test ride on congested, traffic-infested Delhi roads. Here's my thoughts on the short ride:
The bike felt bulky, even on the move. Sitting position was almost spot-on, neither too sporty, not too relaxed. I had ridden the NS200 a while ago; in comparison, the initial pick-up on RS200 felt too slow despite the extra bhp. Thanks to the added weight, most of which is on the front end, the braking on my non-abs bike wasn't confident at all. It didn't help much in the handling department either and u-turns were painfully wide and cumbersome. I had read a lot about the engine being more refined than NS but coming from a butter smooth GS150R, it felt like a rumbling chaos.
In all, it was a bad impression and I immediately decided against the bike. Looking forward to test ride the AS200 very soon. This Sunday perhaps if available.
Coming from a naked city bike to something like RS needs time to settle down. The bike does weigh 165 kilos, soemthing like 30 kilos heavier than most of the 150cc city bikes we ride. There are a lot of factors that can tip the needle to LIKE or DISLIKE. The bike must be a new piece, so brakes are new, tyres are new and the engine hasn't opened and settled properly. I had a Pulsar 150 and now on Pulsar 200. With every ride of significant distance, I can clearly feel that the smoothness of the engine is increasing. The gear shifts have become more mature and precise, although still far from Yamaha quality gearbox.
About U-Turns, yes, in faired bikes, it is a pain. I bet Gixxer 155 and Gixxer SF 155 will have the same U-Turn difference. I'll say, give it some time. Go for a ride on RS which has settled down some kms on odo and has undergone oil change at least twice.
                          Regards,
                          Akash Yadav

The world ain't all sunshine and rainbows. It is a very mean and nasty place. It will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it.

Hardly, Gixxer and Gixxer SF has only 4 kgs weight difference between them along with same wheelbase. These two Suzukis are only differentiated by the full fairing while NS/AS200 and RS200 have more differences between them than similarities. That 20kgs extra weight on RS is a total shame. Bajaj really needs to learn how to keep the weight in check... I am wondering why they haven't learned this from KTM yet!!

The additional weight is 12kg over Pulsar 200NS. The new Pulsar 200NS now weighs 151kgs. Adding 12kg makes it 163 plus 2 more kgs for ABS

Are you sure MG? Bajaj website says that the 'new' NS is 145kgs (it is the AS200 which is 153kgs, so I am not sure if your information about NS is correct)... anyways, why would Bajaj make NS heavier... doesn't make sense..
