Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Sure, general rule is try to stay below 4k to first service and then to 5k upto end of run in. That's more than enough. Following manual approach from Bajaj is a bit tedious.Originally posted by Sharma Ji View Post

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
This is the precise reason people in this forum were advicing you not to buy a bike till you turn 18. You have not yet bought the bike and you are talking about redlining and Drag races? I know that your heart is set upon the bike and nothing I say is going to change your decision but it is painful to see young guys acting on their immaturity and causing trouble for others on the road.Originally posted by Sharma Ji View PostGuys,
I have two questions.
1) After how much kilometres should one start redlining?
2) After how much kilometres should one start sudden acceleration. i.e. Drag races?
I hope I dont encounter you in Mumbai racing and riding like crazy.Riding a bike is like flying.... All your senses are alive...

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
I went to the ProBiking Service Centre yesterday and all they did was to wash my bike with high pressure water hose. It did result in noise being eliminated, but only for 3 hours. Later in the night I could hear feeble screeching noise from the rear end. This has now instilled doubt in my mind that the issue is much more than just debris / dust accumulation in the disc brake pads. Kindly guide what steps can be taken next?Originally posted by abbysodhi View PostThank you for prompt response guys. Unfortunately I do not have access to high pressure water source as of now and thinking to take it to Bajaj ProBiking Service Centre in Thane (Wagle Industrial Estate) today evening. I hope their technicians have better competency and are able to isolate / rectify the issue soon.
Anyone has an experience getting their RS200 serviced / checked for issues at this facility?
Regards,
Abheyjit
I was suggested in one of the earlier posts not to exceed 5K rpm for first 500-700 KM (till 1st service). I have been following the same and as most of my commute is on Eastern Express Highway, I constantly maintain 4600-4700 rpm which translates to a speed of 65-67 KMPH. Current ODO meter reading is 260 KM. However now I come across the fact that 'general rule is try to stay below 4k to first service'. Assist me in getting out of this dilemma. This bike is already a cause of botheration and I do not want to end up frying its engineOriginally posted by jbm_guy View PostSure, general rule is try to stay below 4k to first service and then to 5k upto end of run in. As many have pointed out already, you are not heading in the correct direction. But anyway if you do go for the bike then make sure you invest atleast 10-15% of the bikes cost for getting good riding gears which includes Certified Full-faced helmet, Riding Gloves and a Riding Jacket as bare minimum. Then slowly you can invest more and get Riding Boots, Riding Pant/Knee protectors etc, when you want to go long distance on your bike.
P.S. Notice the "Riding" word before every gear, as a simple Jacket is different from a riding jacket and would serve no purpose in case of an mishap.
Ride Safe.
~Cheers

Hi Abhejit, as par My knowledge of so many years of buying two and four wheelers, what I have learned is driving below 40kms for 1st service and 80 kms till 2nd service and then your vehicle will give good mileage throughout vehicle life and even engine will be free revving.
But new vehicles are said already tested so no need to run below 40 kms per hour till 1st service.
So choice is yours.

Maybe mods should warn such persons here. We should not encourage illegal racing on streets as well as license less driving either. Mods, please take action. Doesn't xbhp prohibit based on age?.

One of the suggestion is lubricating the Disc caliper with grease. If not, it can freeze up and fail to disengage the brake pads properly. Try this and check.Originally posted by abbysodhi View PostI went to the ProBiking Service Centre yesterday and all they did was to wash my bike with high pressure water hose. Even I am in the same condition, this 'running in period' is eating my head. Some website says break it hard, but I stick it to manual.
I get vibration on foot pegs. When the engine is cold gear shifting is smooth as soon as getting heated up gears shifting becoming bit hard. Also getting 'Thud' sound from front if I hit potholes. Do you have these types of issues?

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
WTF
Looks like I should have not posted my age in this thread.
And please don't point out on me so easily , I am not going to race. I was just asking as I have some senior friends who will always try to throttle my bike if I'll lend them. (Also I can't resist lending my bike to them as I also have had many tours on their bikes).
And rest for the money my parents are buying me the bike.
