I googled a bit and read about a Ninja 650 that was having a similar issue (bike starting only in neutral and stalling). The culprit in that bike was a small pin below the clutch cable that was dislocated. I'm not sure whether it's the same problem but anyhow I'm taking it to the svc tomorrow. Will update on my findings.

Well during when the side stand is down, the bike atleast tries to start in gear but here nothing is happening. It doesn't even react. Nothing happens when I press the starter.Originally posted by amarme001 View Post

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
RS 200 Demon Black, 2015 purchased
I stopped servicing the bike right after first service, because of terrible bajaj service center.
I only change oil and oil filter is due as I am unable to open one B**ch of a nut. Will go to service center for that and need tappet adjustment, which I am sure the lazy service guy will ignore saying all pulsars sound like that, but worth a try.
had to change both rims, when a asshole uncle suggested me to take interstate highway rather than NH and I ended up going through a pot hole at over 80kmph. I didn't even realize the rims where bent until after few kilometers I realized it was getting hard to turn the handle.
Traveled 300kms on broken rim and flat tires
, MRF rocks, they have strong side walls which saved the day. I maintained 70kmph and still was able to make to my destination 300kms away. This was between Vizag and Hyderabad, Inter state highway is through khammam, apparently this route saves 60 odd kilometers.
But be prepared for 99% off road, as apparently Telangana Govt is sitting on 8000Cr of central fund saying there officers don't have time to give contracts.
Was a different experience, but went again the same route after one month and conquered the road with my bike in one piece.
Bike is super fast I mean it can go all day and wouldn't even break a sweat. It will do 120kmph all day, but not practical speed in India.
Safe speed upto 100kmph with ample breaking (I own a non-abs), Breaks are good but handling is awful.
At high speed the handle just won't move and slow speeds handle just sways like ballerina. I have not washed the bike since 6 months and it is dirty very very.
I faced stalling issue and stalling in first gear when moving from neutral. But I ignored and it never came up.
I just make sure the side stand is completely up.
Suggestion - Before you try anything, Know your bike completely before becoming adventurous. These are my experience.
But you may not have the same luck going through a pot hole at 80kmph, Wear protective gear and drive slow on single lane roads.
Clutch sensors, also known as clutch switches, are a safeguard built into many modern cars and motorcycles. They exist to prevent an engine paired to a manual transmission from being started in gear. If that should happen, the starter motor is prevented by the drive-train from spinning at speeds sufficient to start the engine; rather, it attempts to locomote the vehicle. This is dangerous and almost certain to result in premature starter motor failure.Originally posted by shardulghatpande View PostWell during when the side stand is down, the bike atleast tries to start in gear but here nothing is happening. Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
This might be due to clogging in the FI system. Can happen because of spurious fuel/water in tank. A temporary workaround can be to give race just after engaging the clutch before downshifting (something like rev-matching).Originally posted by shardulghatpande View PostNo, it doesn't jerk when it stalls. If there is water in your tank, you need to get it cleaned out asap. Water for too long will cause rust in the tank. If that happens then you are jacked and will need to replace the tank. A costly affair.Biking is not about what you have between your legs, its all about how well you use it!!!!!!!

Agree with The Monk. You can go to a local mechanic to check if there is water in the tank. Water, being heavier than petrol, settles in the bottom of the tank. The local mechanics can check this by looking at the flow from the petrol pipe. This is just for diagnostic purpose. The stoppage can also be caused by kachra in the FI system and that can be resolved only at the SS.Originally posted by shardulghatpande View PostAnd what would be the permanent solution to this problem?Riding a bike is like flying.... Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi! Everyone, I am from Kolkata,
Need advice, completed 10k km 2 days back. what are the things that I need to change? earlier all my free service I had used engine oil provided by SVC guys.
1. after 65-70 km/h, it is like I am forcing her hard to speed up more to reach 90 or 100 km/h. I have visited SVC(Rolta Bajaj, Kolkata) today described him about this pick up issue, guy said it might need to change the clutch plate. Does it have any link with the engine oil? Should I move to Motul 7100 4T(one of my friend Suggested). if So where can I find a good reliable mechanic Shop in Kolkata. Please share the address/contact.
2. Do I need to Change the filter? How do I make my bike satisfy so that she can reach 100 km/h smoothly. I do not have much knowledge about the spare parts & Their functions. please guide me with a link where I can gain my basic knowledge about it, if you know any threads pls share the link.
3. Query: if I want to change my 55W low beam with higher 65W ,is it possible? what will be its substitute to get more light? what are the disadvantages if I change.
4. last Query: If I ride my bike with both head lights on, fuel consumption will be much more higher than regular. I heard from few people.
overall am happy with her performance(first bike will be always close to your heart).
anyone here from Kolkata, please share trustable mechanic shop address.
Thanks

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Don't know about any other queries of yours but switching to motul definitely enhanced my bikes performance. The engine is smoother and I feel that the vibrations have also reduced a bit (personal opinion). I shifted to Motul at 8.5k kilometres and the last 2-2.5k kilometres have been amazing. The difference made by the engine is easily noticeable. It's slightly more expensive than other oils in the market but trust me it is worth the extra money.Originally posted by Subir Samanta View PostHi! Everyone, I am from Kolkata,

The bike reaches 100 effortlessly. You can cruise at 100-110 full day on this. If it is losing steam after 65-70 kmph ,there is something wrong and a faulty clutch plate is the first suspect. To check if the clutch plate is faulty, there was an excellent method suggested a while back by @The Monk. Here is the method:- Start your bike and let it idle for 2 min
- Pull the clutch and the brakes.
- Put the bike in third gear and very slowly release the clutch without giving any throttle.
If the clutch plates are faulty, you will see fluctuations in the RPM. If the clutch plate is ok, the bike will stall.
Regarding the engine oil, I use Motul 5100. Personally I think that 7100 is an overkill if you are not taking your bike out on track regularly. But this is a personal feeling and others can disagree. I found 5100 to be perfect blend of performance vs cost.

Are you talking about oil filter? You need to change the oil filter every time you replace (not topup) the engine oil. Recommended interval for air filter is in the owner's manual. Sorry, don't remember it currently.

Please refer to earlier posts in this thread for the exact requirements.

Theoretically, Yes. Practically, no chance!

I guess there's water clogged in near battery or might be loose connection. It could be possible that water might have seeped in and causing the battery not to operate sometimes. And the stalling issue, I think Rachit can give a better idea. I never faced such an issue but I think that is something related to clutch only.Originally posted by shardulghatpande View PostSo it's been raining in continously Mysore for the past 3 days and because I don't have a proper parking facility I park my vehicle outside my home. In between I would go somewhere and ride it for a kilometre or two max. I cover my bike witha normal bike cover which is slightly torn from a few places.
I had gone to Bangalore and came back on Sunday on the bike. Everything was fine that time. It's been raining, drizzling ever since.
Today I took it for a slightly longer ride to work and didn't notice any difference while riding. Maybe because I was late and was riding fast. Anyhow my office parking is completely covered and there's no chance of anything happening to my bike inside the premises. (Rounding security and I've been parking here for a year without any issues ever). After work I noticed that my bike was not starting in any gear position except for neutral. The battery was fine since all lights, horn etc are working fine. The sound when you switch on the bike is coming but the bike is just not starting. Not even trying to start. What might be the problem? Is it the spark plug? Also the stalling issue I mentioned in the previous post has increased so much that whenever I'm braking for more than 4-5 seconds the bike is stalling as soon as I engage the cluth. Please help me out. I take care of my bike and any issues with my bike (major-minor) freak me out.

I myself did a 1300 km round trip last weekend!
I have just covered a little over 100 kms so can't exactly tell the experience but the ride has become bumpier than before, maybe because the stock tyre has almost been used up and had become soft in 19k kms.
Will be giving full. Review once I come back from my next big ride. [emoji3]I look best when I take my helmet off, I have a glow on my face and a bit of helmet hair ;)

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hi Folks,
My rs200 front wheel rim got bent and air pressure is going out from the tyre. May be i would have hit the pothholes and whether you guys faced any situation like this ever before? Now i repaired and straightened the bent using gas welding. Whether now the rim will be as strong as original one and how will be the strength after welding?
Thanks

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Update: went to the service centre and told them about the problems. The thing is no matter how hard I try to make them understand the stalling issue, even if they do understand they take a test ride. This issue never comes up then. Like I've mentioned, it's not that it happens all the time but it just happens all of a sudden, which to be honest is frightening because I don't know when my bike is gonna stall. So he took a test ride and later on sat behind me while I took him around and the problem never occurred. What he finally said was 'sir, how do I solve a problem which I can't understand or I can't experience'. The guy though was very considerate and kept my RS there for a few hours in which he stripped it open and did a few checks. After they were done, the main mechanic told me that it was mostly the clutch switch which, he has repositioned and that if I ever face the same problem again I should come to him so that he can check again. It's going to be trial and error before they can actually figure out what the problem is. So I took it out for a ride today after work for a short 50 km trip to some nearby waterfalls and the bike NEVER STALLED.Originally posted by rachitsharma2000 View PostAgree with The Monk. Also, regarding the bike not reacting to the starter in gear, it worked just fine the next morning. Yes, I tried to start it in the first gear and the engine just came to life as if there was never any problem. Just to be sure that there is no water in the fuel tank or in the FI, I went to nearby local mechanic asked him to take a look once. Fortunately the response was positive. So my 'stallion' is back to it's normal best. Hopefully I won't face anymore issues for sometime. Thank you all for your valuable feedback and suggestions. It's good to have so many people out there ready to help.

Re: Bajaj Pulsar RS 200 Owners Review and Experience
Hey guys, recently I did jodhpur jaisalmer bikaner trip on my RS and while returning from bikaner to delhi, My bike went into a pothole at around 70km/h and both the rims got bent. I got them restructured (not from the svc) just to reach home safely that day, the bike feels fine to ride except I noticed that the pillion seat and the overall bike feels a little lower. Is it something with the nitrox monoshocker? Or anything else?
Maybe it's just me that feels like it, I have compared it with some old pictures and can't make out the difference.
Anybody has got any leads what it could be? I am pretty sure that the SVC guys around my home will surely knock it off saying that it is perfectly fine.
The ride feels fine, no vibrations, no abrupt bumps ,maybe wheels needs some balancing.TWO WHEELS MOVE MY SOUL.
