And you know what fixed vibrations in the fairing. Fitting two NUTS which were absent with tube washers in between plastic panels. Which I did myself.

i just want to clarify one thing that i just recommend him to anyone, who needs a good mechanic..... i am not a commission agent or anything, i have no personal benefit in recommending him.

i called him to check, whats the matter.

and i will present his side of story, coz he cant defend himself on xbhp.

your bike's fairing did not had just vibrations, it was damaged (badly damaged, probably due to some accident). he fixed it as much was possible.

not only was your meter not working, but other things like indicator, handlebar switches backlit etc was also not working. Another service center asked you to replace meter console, whereas this mechanic got your meter repaired (saved money) and rectified other electrical issues.

by changing the brake fluid, he did a normal servicing procedure. if you are using dot4 fluid, you should have told him earlier. (thats what i do, whenever i use dot4).

according to him, he changed clutch lever, coz it was bent, and he asked you beforehand, according to him.

that green thing on chain is "TRIBOCOR CHAIN LUBE TC40"

while taking delivery after servicing, bike should be checked by customer.

not to mention, you paid less than the bill.

Would definitely keep that in mind next time.

Also tube washer thingy worked like charm.
Although just fitted only 2 nuts with rubber washers.

The plastic push rivet broke apart long time ago. Fitted nuts in its place and vibrations are down 90%. Just from 2 nuts.

And the guy took 550 bucks above servicing charge and still managed to completely mess up two nuts.
Now I can't open the fairing without breaking something.

15km is not that far as far as having peace of mind is concerned.

There are no good local mechanics here in my knowledge.
I live in a small city in Jalandhar district, Punjab.
But, the most convenient city to reach is Ludhiana,Punjab (15km).

I would strongly advise to shift your ride to another SVC or a good local mechanic who has worked on KTMs, NS and RS. Which city are you at? I am sure fellow brothers will help too.

Yes they did that and rectified it today.
I did argue with them a bit but the head of workshop was polite so I didn't do much.

Where should I take it, I think I should go to a different city's SVC now.
Bro these guys literally said to me that servicing for this bike includes only oil change and washing that's how lazy they are, its only me that I'm asking them to replace parts like oil and air filter.
Now the oil filter is changed today only and my Motul is on its way so I'll not change it again when I replace the oil in 3 days.

Should I go and ask for a rocker arm change directly? without describing the kit kit sound?

And one more thing, do they really need to remove the engine from the bike to change rocker arms?

So you paid for the entire clutch and pressure plates and they gave you one of the old plates? Have their neck for that and write an email with Job order number to customer care.
Why would you not change the engine oil filter with the engine oil?
No, the SVC which has already been careless, irresponsible and negligent on professional grounds should not be allowed to do anything further with the bike, forget about removing the engine.
They poured the wrong grade of engine oil, screwed up to replace clutch plate and unable to resolve a minor issue. I would strongly suggest you move out of that SVC and take your ride elsewhere.
Have the rocker arms changed, ride the bike for good 500 kms and take it back to tighten the settling arms followed by valve adjustment. You will do just fine since you are gonna change the engine oil. Be sure to properly drain the oil and change the engine oil filter, it costs 180 at the most.

Hi guys I went to the SVC and got the clutch plates checked, the issue was that the earlier mechanic used one of the old clutch plates and one pressure plate which were worn out already, so the clutch was giving issues, those are solved now.

About the vibrations, they have fixed the fairing properly now and there still are some vibrations but those are due to the low grade engine oil in it and I'll be replacing to motul 7100 in 3 days for that.

Moreover, I got the air and oil filters changed which were not changed for a long time and the sound of engine has improved after that.

The mechanic opened the head cover and checked tappets and timing chain but he said he needs to remove engine from the bike and check it for tik tik sound which can take 2 days and he thinks it could be crank which is causing the sound which can cost 8-9k to be changed.

Now I need to know if using motul 7100 can possibly reduce the tik tik sound from engine or not? Do I really need to get the engine opened and checked?

I asked him to change rocker arms if needed but he said he needs to open the whole engine head and remove engine from bike to do that so he didn't do that.

My 2 cents.
Never trust anyone with your bike.
Try to get things fixed in front of you.
Try to fix one problem at a time. Service it. Fix fairings on a later date. Forks on some other day. Split the work.

Someone suggested on Xbhp to make washers from a thick tube. Use them for all fairing nuts and bolts to fix vibration issues.

Hi,

So update after a long time.

Bike has done 23k odd kilometers as of now.

Servicing done @19km with air filter+oil filter & oil change

Gave 36-38 KmPl for 5-6 tankfulls consecutively.

After that average droppped back to usual 33 KmPl, then again goes to 36 KmPl.

So no logic whatsoever. Just to make it clear i NEVER got 33+ average before this servicing.

Washed chain one fine evening with diesel and decided to sprinkle some diesel here and there. And Speedometer console goes poof very next day.

Service center said 3600 for console.

Somehow decided to give bike to XBHP recommended mechanic (MOHSIN- Shivajinagar Pune) who was recommended by one of xbhpian many times ( [MENTION=15693]princesirohi[/MENTION] ).

Handed over bike on friday afternoon.

Told to do following things.

1] Speedo console.

2] Check wiring [had a short few weeks earlier which was resolved but still wanted to be sure].

3] Servicing.

4] Get fairing fixed properly [ LOT of vibrations ]

To which he asked me to change also.

5] Rear disc pads.

Got the bike back on Wednesday Afternoon.

After supposedly working on bike for 6 days he gives me the bill of Rs 4948/. Of which I agreed to pay 4500 bucks.

Even after screwing me over with this much money, what he does.

Fairing is missing more nuts, vibrations are as bad as before if not worse.

Changes Break fluid to DOT 3 without asking ( I had recently blead whole lines with DOT 4).

Changes clutch lever for no reason at all.

Puts some GREEN liquid on chain which he claims is some "SPECIAL' lubricant. Which i hope was 2T oil and i fear was COOLANT.

So moral of the story. Dont go trusting what you read here blindly.


Also, I welcome anyone especially [MENTION=15693]princesirohi[/MENTION] to prove me wrong here. As i would not anyone else get screwed over like me.

Only the head needs to be opened, the same part which is opened for Valve clearance adjustments.
Also, I will suggest you to use 5100 instead of 7100. Bajaj engines work better with Semi Synthetic.
