Body Vibrations Since Last 1 month
I am facing body vibration issues all over the rev band since last 1 month. I have changed the engine oil to Shell AX7 10W-40 as usual and cleaned the chain and lubed properly. But yet no success with vibration damping. I have tried tuning the carburetor to 1.5 /2/2.3 rounds but none of them worked.
I had ridden my bike very roughly one night and made it jump over the big potholes- can that lead to such issues ?
Anybody please help me with the solution. I want my GS150R to be smooth again without vibrations.

Calculating from 63kmph@4500rpm, 70kmph@5000rpm, 84kmph@6000rpm (Peak torque rpm) and 119kmph@8500rpm (Peak power rpm) you should be at 7142.86rpm@100kmphOriginally posted by IamAditya View PostGuys..
@100kmph at 6th gear, what is the tacho reading?
.
Btw japanese bikes are known to have ~4%+ reading on odo. I kind of validated this a few times with a running app. So when your odo shows 100kmph you would actually be @96kmph.Last edited by rsk_kelkar; 01-25-2017, 12:00 AM.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Get him the new hero achiever 2016. Best bang for the bucks. Best suited 150cc for his age ane lite weight too compared to gs and many cool features like AHO and i3s tech. Quite sober mature and fuss free bike. Tried and tested honda engine.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostSlingshot is another good product from Suzuki but,its a 125cc, My father is upgrading from a 125cc Glamour so, a 150 is my choice.

After GS150R,
my pick for comfy yet powerful 150cc is Avenger Street 150, what do you guys reckon?
I too own gs150r and very happy with it. Its just my humble opinion.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
GS would be very heavy for your father. Gixxer is not a practical bike when you consider riding with a pillion.Originally posted by IamAditya View PostSomebody please help! ☺
..........
Forgot mention, the console of GS150R is absolutely brilliaint , GSXR inspired ones 👌👌👌
Why don't you consider the Suzuki Sling shot. Its lightweight. Its great in comfort and comes with 5 gear with a gear indicator. 2 of my friends have them and has run 40k+ and 25k+ respectively. Only issue they have faced is rusting of parts.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
True that, also the slightly rearset footpegs might not be his preference. Take your time and get the best one for him ! My lady pillions have never complained about the seat except for the height (true for most makes like Unicorn).Originally posted by IamAditya View PostHe is turning 50 this year, saw gixxer doesn't suit him i think,my mom won't be happy on Gixxers pillion seat.
And gixxer is quite stiff, no where near as comfy as GS.

another pesky thing is the TIC TIC tappet sound , does any one know how to get rid of it ? do i have to get a new set of tappit installed ,my bikes done 67,000 on odo , I love my bike and will keep it for as long as i can ,
suggestions / recommendations please for tyres and tappit issue . thanks!
Hi Octane,
For me SABOO SUZUKI quoted around 1250 INR each for new rear shock absorber of GS 150R-please check the price on spare parts properly and don't get any refurbished parts for your bike-its all about enjoying GS ride and your safety. I would recommend you to contact SABOO SUZUKI Indira Park / Raniganj / Secunderabad for best quality service and authentic original spares at nominal pricing.
Also for tyres- get the recommended ones from service center or MRF authorized dealers. Any modification / change in specs may lead to ruin the GS ride quality and mileage moreover it may not be as safe as tried and tested stock tyre by MRF.
TIC-TIC sound while in stand by mode after a short / long ride is normal for all 4 stroke engines.
But if you feel some unusual sound while riding your bike please reach our to Saboo SVC, they will inspect and let you know if it's really a problem or just a normal sound from GS engine.

Re: Suzuki GS150R
Hi ! Common spares (air filter, clutch cable, oil filter) and those frequently replaced (spark plugs, brake pads/shoes) are available over the counter at SVCs only. Something like brake pedal or the LHS footpeg assembly may not be available and usually the stores will ask you if they can order it for you. Some SVCs will not sell even oil filters or bluntly say "they don't sell spares" though their name board will say "Authorized sales, spares and service".Originally posted by IamAditya View PostAre spare parts readily available??
If i need a new headlight?
Will i get it?
It is a bit hard to find the spares in local two-wheeler spare shops - they say "this aint a moving model" and thats true. Add to the insult, GS is now discontinued though exports continue, I think.
GS is a gem of a bike and enjoys (ed) the hype here in the Ownership Thread. It has its own share of problems like early leaking rear shock absorbers, being too heavy (just look at the thickness of metal they have put in the fork "T" and engine!), early giving away of front wheel bearings, hard¬chy gearbox compared to the Hondas, corrosion, etc (as reported by various xbhpians).
Used vehicles, if not maintained well by the person selling; might burn your pocket initially to restore it. But due to the low resale value, a used GS that has very less kms on the odometer is a steal.
IMHO, get a currently popular (selling in good numbers and good reputation in xBhp) model for your dad. Gixxer has surpassed GS in many many ways and it would be my pick from Suzuki. Gixxer has everything (except the 6th gear) that GS has plus it is more practical and easier to live with than GS. Suzuki has recently started exporting made-in-India Gixxer to Japan!
