Gs150r the lengthy bike with more weight is not the need of this current gen

But a GS with 350cc engine with monoshocks and advanced futures will do the job but that should look like a bigger cousin to gixxer so the apt name if Suzuki have to give is Suzuki gixxer 350 but not GS 150 R

I do not think Suzuki will make gs150r again in any cc

Nice Initiative Kamalesh!

But as much as i would like to see an advanced version of our GS, from sales point of view, i dont know if it would reach the numbers that suzuki's scooters or gixxers have reached. In all probability it could become another GS150R, and suzuki may not want that, at least not at this time.

I agree the resale value is too bad for GS while the bike is best in class and still better than those old generation UNICORNS selling in high numbers.
Suzuki should have learned from HONDA and brought back the GS 150R with advanced tech and sticker works.

And yes the SABOO SUZUKI in Secunderabad / Raniganj / Indra park are best for SUZUKI two wheeler in Hyderabad especially GS 150R as they were the Pioneer for SUZUKI two wheeler in Hyderabad and generally keep stock of all important spares.

GEM Kondapur is also good but only if you go and directly talk to service manager and get job done in his inspection.
My GF's Scooty Lets was with GEM Motors Kondapur for 45 days after frontal damage in an accident-and according to them they were unable to get it in original shape due to lack for spares and I was supposed to wait again for a month.
On the 46th day I went and shouted on them asking for Director and Managers of GEM Automobiles to discuss my issue with them. Then finally, the service manager interrupted and asked me for the issue. After I explained him about the 45 days of waiting and the loose fittings over repair work here and there in the scooty he asked me to wait in customer lounge and asked his mechanic to fix the scooty in front of him.
After 2 hours of continuous monitoring work and suggesting them on fixes I got the scooty back in 95% original shape with bill of 10800 INR.
Now I have claimed the amount with Bharti AXA insurance as it was zero dept insurance and the scooty was hardly 7 months old-let's see what amount they are willing to refund in may account.

Lesson Learned: Directly discuss your issues with service manager / higher authority instead of waiting and following up with the mechanic else they will keep you on hold for months!!!

Where u located? If in hyd I might be able to find a buyer, what's ur rate? People will throw trash rates in hyd, mine 2009 bought for 20k, ma friend bought same 2009 for 16500, it was 45000 run and he later sold it, rates for gs are horrible here, I hope u are able to fix this bike without breaking a bank, I hear saboo svc secundrabad is good but too far for me, hyd people won't offer more than 15000 no matter what. I really wish ur bike gets fixed,

I really don't know how to check the health of the pin. SVC is not even bothered to open it. The SVC guy did not even allow my bike inside and I realised they don't care at all about the GS.

And what he did ? Even I don't know exactly. He just pulled something from the right side of the engine (I was busy speaking to the spare parts guy) Can it be the valve clearance issue?

Bro the only noise I used to hear while riding my GS was the air flow's. I can't tell you how much I love this bike but it's in a really poor condition and I'm financially broken so taking it to a big mechanic like Joel of Garage52 is also not possible at the moment.
Let's see I'm trying to sell it via Olx.

It's sad to see how Suzuki is looting customers in the name of spares, I was charged a lot for the work and parts they replaced on my bike, I had to Sit down with the sales guys and ask him the mrp rate and the discount rate, there is so much margin they make, all I get to hear are tall claims, my engine was rebuilt just 5 days back and I get 1 year or 12,000 warranty, all I have to do is get the bike serviced at 500 and 2,000 kms, this is BQ Suzuki at hyderabad, I heard they have targets to fill and they do anything to achieve those targets, if there is any sound In the engine it could be bad, tappett, or over head cam, GS engine is built real good any sound from it is not a good sign. I don't think local mechanics are good for a gs, my local mech screwed my bike twice, so showroom it is or if anyone is interested you can sell it,

Replacing the whole carb is the easiest and most profitable for them.
check the health of float needle.

My GS in the 8th year with just 14,450 on ODO. There was some wiring issue on 25th May, 2016 and yesterday 28-May-2017 I got it fixed. So 1 year in open parking.

Now it is vibrating a little more but the engine sounds like KTMs. Dug dug dug. The service centre guy did something and it went off but immediately within a kilometre it has started.

What do you think it is? Some part from the engine needs replacement?

Carburettor petrol overflow jugaad

Hi guys,

My GS150R's 2010 model carb started leaking petrol via the waste pipe. So the local mechanic said I will have to replace the whole carb. The took it to the SVC and they too said there's no way but to replace carb since the float pin and all have become loose.

The mechanic put a tiny piece of plastic between the float pin so it gets tight. It's been 2 days and no leakage yet.

Question-

Will changing the plastic float and the pin help stop the overflowing? Or as per these guys I will have to change the whole carb? It costs around 5k

I don't think spares will be a problem for gs it was made and sold till 2014 if am not. Mistaken, my friend has a 2012 model and its running fine so far, mine is a 2009, she is fine for now.

I am also tempted by the low price of GS in the used market and almost bought one for 22K. Lack of parking space is what is keeping me away.

My friends GS is now in the 8th year with less than 10K on odo. I plan to take spares from it when spares become a problem.

My bike is back from showroom today after exactly a month and I shelled Rs 18, 500. U heard it right that's 18500. New bore, piston, rings, con rod, crank, 4 engine bearings, oil seals and every thing else was replaced, balancer, except the gears and gear selectors, tappets, cam, timing chain, they gave me 3-4 pages full with replaced parts, overall I just got a discount of Rs 1000,thats like a joke, also I forgot to mention new OEM clutch plates, clutch holder and I think the clutch bell also but am not sure about the bell, am not happy with what Suzuki has charged me for parts, it's outrageous expensive, I do get one year or 12,000 kms warranty, over all till date I have spent rs 27,000 on just replacing parts, I still have to get her colored and plonk new tires, the only reason I am holding this bike is the smooth engine, very less vibration and sixth gear. I also bought a 2008 pulsar 220 for 27000 in the interim which I plan to rebuild totally, I love the gs150r but hate the low Cc engine, I want like least 180 or 220cc from this engine. I tried to reply earlier but my post got lost due to a connection issue here. Anyway, I meant to support your idea about a new GS150r model, and of course your offer to make an exhaustive review on our bike! Some newer and old owners have been trying to help others in that regard, but a more extensive report on the experience with the bike would come absolutely handy for most of us who have been riding GS150r for only a few years.

I have contacted Suzuki Mexico to learn more about the availability of parts, but their answer is something like this: "You can request any parts you want from your local dealer and we will supply those parts as soon as we can." No mention on a date when those parts might not be available anymore, at least on this part of the globe.

It would be nice if parts could be guaranteed for at least 5 more years, as some of us expect, so we don't have to sell our GS for nothing, should we need to. GS is not a popular bike model anymore, if it ever was. And I do not want to repeat myself, but the motorcycle is absolutely brilliant once you have learned to deal with its flaws. Sorry about those of us who have been experiencing engine problems over the past few months, but GS is, for the most part, a bullet proof bike.

Hey, I'm glad you were able to replace the clutch set on your GS! I believe you should definitely NOT sell your bike until news about the availability of parts come directly from Suzuki India/Japan.

at last changed the clutch assembly.. they took four days to replace.

am getting worried about the availability of spares in future.

also not willing to sell the bike due to poor resale value.

is there any chance of relaunching better version of GS
