Not much has happened since the covid spread, fortunately, me & and my family have been spared( god knows for how long). Things are limping back to normal.The itch to go on a family tour is long pending, had planned one on Jan26 this year, but postponed due to the condition of my swingarm. It has a slight wobble which I mentioned earlier in my posts, the mechanic advised to have it serviced, which I couldnt due to non availability of spares.
Now coming to the point, I requested the spares by around January, there are 3 items to be replaced as a set(they are available individually). The seals & bearings I received earlier within a gap of 2 months, but the last one - spacer ,took forever, evry saturday I used to call the ASC ,they would say ,plant lockdown due to corona. that was in march, 2 months later still corona, later order is placed but package hasnt arrived till yet,I had read on this forum that suzuki can be contacted directly for such issues, but Honestly had no hope that they would even respond.
So Finally as a last resort decided to try that option, visited their website & raised a complaint , I mentioned the part number from the catalogue & went to bed. This was on Nov 11 @ 10.30 p.m. Next day woke up as Usual & went to work, At exactly 9.30 a.m received a call from suzuki executive from haryana. I mentioned my issue , but still was sceptical as to the outcome. Just out of curiosity I called the ASC { I had mentioned their name in the mail}, & got the same reply, package not arrived will contact if spare is available, as usual they didnt call back. But by 11.30 a.m things changed , for the first time I received a call from the ASC, { Sir , your requested spare is available,will hold it for you,} As I was at work I replied I will come Later {Its a 20 k.m drive from home}.but didnt waste any time exited from my office @ 4.30 p.m & arrived there before closing time, bought some other consumables also.
I asked them as to how this item appeared so quickly, no courier not even an air plane would reach kochi within 2 hours from haryana, they replied the package just arrived in the morning, what a coincidence?. Dont know whom to blame or thank for this, Japanese efficiency or Indian carelessness.

Regarding valves, better to replace together with cylinder/piston. Read my previous posts, They are not expensive near around 1000 or so for both valves.cylinder piston set would cost 4.5k, If you have an old 100/90 tyre just put those on and check for a week or so, I replaced my cylinder kit after completing around 80k, there was just a hint of black smoke would have got another 10000km easily , but decided against it, its upto you to decide.

Has anyone performed Valve lapping and/or replacement to our GS150r? Is it useful? A local mechanic suggested this to fix my bad mileage issue after checking some black smoke from the exhaust at high revvs. He did inform that the mileage gain would be marginal, since i already had the 110/90 tyres on my rear which already affects the original design and load on bearings.

I have used two LED headlights so far. The first one installed in 2016 ( could be seen in an earlier post of mine). They were working fine until the service center fellow meddled with wiring and connected AC power to the LEDs. I got a replacement pair soon after and was using it till last year when i wanted something better for the high beam and 20W power usage for low and high beam and i ordered These. Been using them for a year now and serves great purpose without the glare or load on battery. In my 6 yrs ownership, 84000ish kms and once i have changed my battery.

2 years ago i had my front and rear tyres replaced with Michelin Sirac Street and City pro for front. The rear being 110/90. The performance has been good, better grip and confidence and once it has been punctured.
But, Mileage has dropped. Im not sure if the tyres are the only reason, but from days of 55-56 averages on highway riding everyday to work, to 1km to work and city usage, my GS is only giving me close to 40kmpl only. I remember my mileage had dropped to 50 even on the highway years ago after the tyre change, but 40??

Other than that, the chain makes constant noises and require frequent adjustment which could be a direct effect of the tyre change.

On the value addition front, i bought this seat for long rides. Was using the Mesh type seat cover for quite some time thought i'd try something else. Fits just about fine on our GS, but need some adjustment to find your comfortable spot and then riding is a breeze in hot weather.

I have done close to 1100 kms on jk tyre which is decent at moderate speed but have tobe careful on loose sand and gravel as it tends to skid on hard braking as centre part of tyre is almost bald. Front is still a tube tyre appollo actizip F2 which is quite good.

Exactly 2 years ago , Sept 2018 ,I upgraded my both tyres to tubeless, within a week of each other, had to clean and paint the insides of the rim before as the tyrewalla advised that,
The front is a michelin 80/100 that cost 1750/ while the rear JK challenger 100/90 came to 1700/- Rupees. Now complted 25 months and around 28000 kms on both.
The treads are intact , sidewalls dont show any bulge, the rear jk tyre has suffered around 4-5 punctures, while the michelin has had zero punctures. The michelin had a sidewall leak once & had to remove , sand , & repaint the rim once again. The rear tyre skids on wet roads on hard braking, I am a sedate rider so only rarely get to brake in panicmode. I wish the grip could have been much better . Fuel efficiency is an acceptable 50 to 62 ,
The reason I posted is for other users who can share their tyre pics and their experience so we can make an even better decision we made before. I had used an Apollo tubeless tyre in the rear but it began to bulge in the sidewalls post 20000kms.

I just opened the upper rubber shield, cleaned and manually pressed those stick but not working, i can hear the sound of micro switch but not able to change eco/power etc. 2nd switch is almost working. Any hope bro? Thank you

Is your console fully dead, does the orange led light up but no numerals to be seen, does the tachometer needle work, putting on centre stand in 1st gear, does the white led for upshift light up when you accelerate hard, the led wont blink if you are in power mode or the blank mode.I have removed the console before and did a minor job with the input buttons, i do have a video on utube for that, give a personal message i will send yo the link.

Hi guys,
Small upgrade, upgraded rear tyre with tubeless one. Installed jk blaze br32 100/90-18 with triton tubeless valve. Alloy is in its best condition and I must say gs has got the best of alloys. It doesn't have even slightest bend anywhere. No air leakage. So far so good

Hii all friends, i am new here but a long term xbhp reader. I own gs150r since 2012 and now completed 1lakh kms. Getting milage 60kms in eco mode, I hardly ride at power mode. Now my digital console is not working. I humbly request, Can anybody provide a spare one for second price, as pathetically out of wallet to buy a new one so looking for second spare for my first companion on road. Thanks in advance all xbhpians.

Nearing a milestone, 4years ,9 months and nearly 64000 kms . and all that for just rs 25000/- ( the cost of the bike 4 years ago}. maintenance extra , costliest
being piston cylinder @ 80000kms.

Hi Guys,
As the light output from our bike isn't very good, 've ordered NightEye LED bulb from different sellers on Amazon and have compared them all for physical appearances to spot the fake ones. The light output of the genuine one is just a bit better than the fake but the difference is noticeable.
I'd like to point out though that even using the genuine product doesn't ensure best light throw. Will post pictures and some ideas to improve the light output from the reflector type setup of your bikes soon. Meanwhile here's a document to help you confirm authenticity of the product received.

Hi, all,

Just a few quick questions.
- What's the cost of the disc brake caliper?
- Is the caliper available easily in spares shops or Suzuki service centres?
- Was it made by Pricol earlier and Bybre now?
- Can someone confirm if the disc plate is 240 mm in size?
- Which are the best brake pads you have used, were they by ASK, ANL or some other brand?
