ahhhhhhhh atlast TVS JUPITER OWNERSHIP THREADS,

congo on your new tvs jupiter, definitely its VERY MUCH VFM product from tvs, will share my jupiter experince soonOriginally posted by bala.gg View PostTVS JUPITER
Let me to begin by giving a little background on this purchase. We had a Honda Activa for over 7 Years, as it’s getting old my father thought of buying a new Scooter for Urban Commuting.
Honda Activa Experience:
++ves
A reliable Work horse.
Smooth and Good Engine.
--ves
Ride Quality is bad(No Telescopic Suspension).
Medium Handling.
Heavy scooter.
Poor Service.
Primary Requirements:
Should be a Reliable one.
Ride quality must be good.
Should not be a heavy vehicle like Activa.(Since this is for my father, he prefers a light weight Vehicle)
Decent after sales and service.
Vehicles short listed:
Honda Activa -
It was already with us for 7 Years + choppy Ride Quality + Weight was enough for us to neglect Activa.
TVS Wego -
Went for a test ride. Instantly it felt Very light compared to Activa. Ride and Handling was too good. It felt better in all departments in comparison with the Segment Leader -
Activa. We almost made up our mind to book it. Until I got to know that TVS is launching a new vehicle based on Wego.
TVS Jupiter -
Since this was based on Wego, all the positives of Wego was carried forward to Jupiter as well. It Had few first in Segment features as well - City light, Pass Switch, Low fuel
Indicator and Economy/Power Mode to name a few... We booked the Matte Grey Jupiter the Next day - Dealer quoted waiting period of 25 days!!! Grey with Matte finish is another attraction in this scooter. Jupiter looks good in that color.
Suzuki Twins -
Initially we have idea of it but Suzuki's Service network was not that good, so it out of the list as well.
So the Wait Started...
Finally after 40 days we got a call from the dealer that the vehicle has arrived. Dealer Experience was good and we completed all the formalities without any delay.
Initial Impression:
Engine:
The Jupiter is powered by a 110cc, all-aluminum engine, churning out 8 PS of power and 8 Nm of torque. Performance is good. Since the scooter is in the Run-in period we cannot test its performance completely. Honda has a butter smooth engine and TVS is not far behind them.
Honda holds a slight edge here.
Ride and handling:
Jupiter Rides on a 12-inch Tube less Tyre with Telescopic front suspension. It has the Best Ride quality among the crowded Commuter Segment Scooters. Handling is good. It has Metal + Fiber body combination (Fiber part at the front) which has greatly reduced the effort needed while navigating the traffic. All Activa owners will feel the light weight of the Jupiter instantly due to the Fiber part at the front.
Jupiter trumps Activa completely in this Segment.
Comfort:
Jupiter has a wide and soft seats, which is like sitting in a Sofa. For Urban commuting/Daily use Jupiter is very comfortable scooter. It also has many useful Features -
Low Fuel indicator - Nice addition, its stats glowing once the petrol level is around 1.5 liters in the tank.
Pass Switch - Segment first and a useful feature to have.
E-Z Center stand - One will have to use it to believe it. It’s very easy to put the Centre stand.
Parking light/City Light
External Fuel filler cap - Good one but could have made better if the unlocking mechanism was kept at the front rather than at the rear side (So literally you will have to get down to open the fuel filler).
Here its way ahead among all the other Scooters in the Segment.
Mileage:
So far the vehicles has done 800 kms with the first service done. On an Average it gives 55 kmpl which is good for a new vehicle. Company Claimed is 62 kmpl.
Over all a very good product from TVS. Take a Test ride to believe it, as an Activa owner we can make out the difference instantly. It’s a definite VFM product

Matte Grey is the most preferred choice for Jupiter it seems. Have spotted some Jupiter's on the Road, most of them were Grey Jupiter's.Last edited by bala.gg; 05-08-2014, 11:42 AM.

Re: TVS Jupiter Owners Review and Experience
Sorry for the late review friends..
I am from Coimbatore, Tamilnadu.
My booking was done 2 months before the date of delivery, i.e 01.01.2014.
Bought my white Jupiter and its evil twin RTR 180 on new year to be exact.
It is a good vehicle to drive in the city without any effort.
And the most important thing is that you feel the power when you zoom past the vehicles on the road.
I get around 54-57kmpl. Done around 3000kms on it.

Re: TVS Jupiter Owners Review and Experience
Hello guys,
I planning to upgrade my sister's Hero Honda Pleasure with TVS Jupiter.
Please advice if it is a good upgrade or not.
The Hero Honda has been with us for 8 years now and due to all plastic body has worn out.
also None of the gearless scoots give milage more than 40 - 45 in our city, as it is too crowded, does the Jupiter give 50+ mileage in city traffic??I would like to thank my legs for supporting me, my arms for being always by my side and my fingers; I could always count on them.

Re: TVS Jupiter Owners Review and Experience
Second Service Update(1300 kms) :
Refinement level is getting better and Mileage is @ 50+ on an average. TVS Service is good. No issues as of now.
Could spot lot of TVS Jupiter's on Road now, that too Grey seems to be the most preferred color.
