More than a month old now. Mileage around 50-52 kmpl. Top speed of >85(Speedo).
Only problem is, Have to refill Petrol every 180 Kms or so. Why cant scoots have bigger tanks!!! There is hell lot of wasted space under the seat.

Hi guys this is my first vehicle and i bought copper limited Edition colour on 31 st. Delivery was very smooth as i walked with cash on document and took vehicle with me in 2 hrs..
Chose this over activa due to weight as i am new to driving..
Feels very easy and liberating to drive this one.. The colour is head turner and look very good.. Also the peteol tank opening without getting up is convenient..
So far have done 300 kms..

Re: TVS Jupiter Owners Review and Experience

          Hi folks,
Got the scoot as a daily runabout and to replace my aging vespa. Its been running like a charm since day one. I have done 4000kms on it till date. Mileage i get is about 50-55, and top speed is 90 speedo indicated.
A rat found its way inside and bit the wire connecting fuel guage. It was replaced for about 250 or 300 bucks.
          No other replacements/claims except this.
          Plus points:
1.Comfortable for 6' folks. All other scoot's handle fouls with long legs, jupiter's doesnt.
2.The external tank cap is very convenient.
          3. Seat is big and plush, though a little bigger seat like activa 125 would have been better to carry around pillions who sit sideways.
          4. Fuel efficiency is similar to what was told at showroom, 55 for a autoscoot is very good.
          5. Low fuel indicator is a boon for people like me who always forget to fill up.
          6. Pass light. 'Nuff said.
          7. The A.s.s is too good, all work done is proper and everything you say is taken care of, save for the annoying rattle, source of which they couldn't find.
          7. Last but the most important point, handling. Tvs definitely knows how to make good handling machines. I thoroughly enjoy taking corners on this scoot.Nothing comes close, save for the wego, in this department.

          Cons.
          1. Not a con per se, but a little bigger fuel tank wouldve been better.

Overall, a lovely ownership experience till now.

Got the first service done costed only 275 INR only. The scooter is getting more refined, till now only 602 kms done. The carburetor was changed under warranty as there were stalling problems and the old carb was not able to provide optimum fuel/air ratio. Now there is no stalling problem. There is some kach kach type vibration from front board after speeds of 40 kmph. Asc people could not find what was causing that but is is very negligible. My handle also goes towards right but that will be cured and they said to bring my vehicle after holi holidays. There manager said to me while unloading from truck there could be chances the vehicle would have damaged. He assured me everything is fine now and if i find something i can go to him anytime.

How is your experience with jupiter. It will be very helpful for those who are looking something better than activa in similar price range.

Nothing much to write. It has smoothened out further with more kms on ODO.
An observation- Ride it at around 55-60 kmph, milege is around 50-52.
Ride it hard at 75-80 kmph for long, milega comes down to around 45 kmpl.
If you can, then ride at around 45-50 kmph, to get milege of 55kmpl easily. But honestly you cant ride it that slow.
Max kms done in a day- 300 kms.

55kmpl is a very good figure. Honda activa manages 45-47 and that two with costly spares and pain of tackling with honda service

Actually if you ride the Activa at 45 kmph. You can also extract that milege. Milege isnt of much difference between the two. What differs is the comfort, handling, quality of plastics and affordable spares, where Activa has no match to the Jupiter. Two pros of activa are- The combi brakes comes handy for ladies and the engine is slightly more refined at above 70 kmph.
And one of my dentist friends has an Activa, who loves my Jupiter more.

The switch gear, meter console, etc feels much more premium. You can compare them side by side. I will try to post pics.

Completed an year and 8500 kms on the Jupiter. Use it for a daily run of ~55 kms. Some updates :

                              1. The NVH levels have increased considerably. The showroom people say this is expected engine noise. Though you can hardly hear it inside your helmet, it does sound noisy to an onlooker.
                              2. I am getting a genuine fuel economy of 52-55 kmpl with 90% city traffic and 10% highway riding. However a bigger tank would have been appreciated.
                              3. TVS service is okay. No problems faced till now.
                              4. One irritating problem is the low ground clearance. Due to this the main stand hits speed breakers/potholes at high speeds. The bike bottoms out in such scenarios.
                              5. The handle bar grips are very hard and hurt your hand if you are not wearing gloves.

Apart from these, the bike is a gem to ride. Handling is amazing with great acceleration. I would still choose this over an Activa today.

                                Hi guys,

My wife rides a TVS Jupiter (5500+ km) and I have borrowed it for few days as my Pulsar 180 is waiting to get reparied (AGAIN because of some carburetor issue). I am using it regularly for about a week now. There is an increase in noise near the engine, which sounds like a loose chain. Also, it does not accelerate smoothly when I twist the throttle suddenly. Its like the engine stops for fraction of a second and then starts accelerating again. It does not happen when I accelerate slowly though. Has anyone faced this issue?
