I forgot to add the observation about refinement. Now the vibes I used to see at around 50kmph have become very less. Previously I used to get buzz in handlebars. That is no more the case. Beside this the engine is very smooth below this and above 50kmph also.
Traveling in city at speeds till 45kmph is vibe-free. On highways, if you manage to stay above 60kmph when there's less traffic, no vibes there too.
About BS4 duets, I have seen 3-4 such vehicles on highway and they sounded smooth enough. Although since I myself have not ridden any other duet, I don't have any idea.

I want to get the fork oil replaced with Motul 20w oil, but what quantity is required? Can't find it in the manual ☹️. 1 bottle of Motul is 350mL

Update: Went to ask a mechanic at the SVC, he told me its 200mL per fork.

Mine is a 2016 purple grey BS3 model VX, 15000km done. Instrument console changed within a year(lol), running on Motul 3100 and EP gear oil for the gearbox. Changed rear tyre recently to MRF zapper. Scooter vibrates quite a lot at idling and a little till 20kmph, after that it pulls smoothly no vibes at all. Starts screaming after 65kmph. RVM mounts are really bad, broke away within 2 years had to get them welded. Switches are trash, they work but really bad feedback and plastic creaks.

Another Update: Went to Ess Aay Agencies Hero workshop to get air filter changed , carb tuned and to fix the keyhole poking out.
For keyhole they said the T stem is bent and to repair it will cost 800/- which I promptly avoided as scooter's straight line stability is good. They changed the filter and surprisingly they tuned the carb when the engine was cold, I got checked in at 10:20 am and they started working on my scooter at 2:15. Phew. I was sceptical about the tuning but it turns out, only the idling was very low so scooter was turning off at every redlight. Came home and increased idling myself, no problem since then. Service charge without oil change is 450, which even a good roadside mechanic would do for the same price but including the oil change. Now scooter is performing good.
I asked them about the fork oil change and they simply said its not worth opening the fork, either get it replaced or we won't touch it. Wow. Just wow. Anyways got the fork oil changed outside in front of me and turns out its so simple even a layman can do it after looking at someone doing it once. And actual capacity told by this was around 90mL, contrary to 200mL I was told at the SVC. What does hero even train them for? Took 200rs for both forks as I supplied the oil. Very fair deal.

I have a 2016 Duet VX BS-III, and your observations about hero svc are correct. When we bought this one and serviced it for first 6 services at 3 different hero svc, but none of them could fix some simple issues.
        1. Engine was backfiring.
        2. Fuel cover popup was not working via key.
        3. Low idle causing shutdown in traffic
It was crazy. Thankfully I looked around and found a good mechanic by reference from a friend and within one service all this was corrected.
Anyway last month the scooter completet 30000 kms. Big milestone.
I also got a bunch of work done with the 5th anniversary. Its all as below:
        1. Front forks full servicing - both were leaking - 650Rs
        2. Clutch n gear servicing - changed pulley, belt, one bearing replaced which was causing gearbox to leak - 2500/-
        3. Its front console visor was cracked in one fall. Found one online for 800/-
        4. Last year battery was changed as it has become weak after 4 years - 1100/-
        5. Full servicing with air cleaner replacement n oil change - ~1000/-
        6. Rear tyre was gone, n front had started developing cracks with 5 yrs of age. The grip was pathetic. Changed both. Front to a Ceat zoom D, n rear to a Michelin. 2800/-

        Some old servicing
        1. Rear shock was replaced 2 years back as original blew up thanks to our potholes. 900/-
        2. Accelerator cable gone in 3rd year.
        3. Kids messed up accelerator assembly, had to get it replaced. Been keeping it under cover since.

        Rest all is good.

Current condition: With all above servicing done, scooter is good for another 20-30000 km with only regular maintenance. Vibes have come down with clutch n gearbox work. One thing I notice is as the kms are churned n temp increases, the grinding increases. I have been using engine oil for gearbox as given in manual. But for longer rides of 50km+ I think it falls short.
So going to experiment with castrol 80w90 gear oil next service.
And also need more foam under the bum, since this scooter has sort of firm ride quality.
        Cheers!!

        • The suspension is too stiff has someone changed it, is there any place where I can find good suspension for scooters, btw has anyone attempted to upsize the front wheel of gero duet or for that matter any old gen scooter front wheel from 10inch to twelve inch, thanks in advance.

Stiff front suspension? You can go for a softer grade front oil. Go for Bajaj or Veedol Fork oil. I believe you need 90ml in each fork leg (get it double checked).

I don't think you can upsize the front wheel, and even if you do, it will probably not help much. Regarding stiff-suspension, if it's front, the oil quantity must be incorrect, because mine's very pliable and the scooter can handle bad roads like champ. I did get it completely serviced at 27000kms for 650Rs as mentioned in one of earlier posts. Regarding rear-suspension, mine's okay.

One problem is the seat does not have enough padding and that feels after you do 40+ kms. My solution was to go to a seat shop and get the seat redone with more foam for about 500Rs. This means now my bum is fine even if I ride 100+ kms. And on weekends, I do ride 100+ kms regularly.

At present my Duet 2016 model has done about 31500km after 5 years of ownership.
