1st servicing doNe of my hero duet at 1100 kms .
I had changed the oil at 500kms
But the scooter still feels soo rough and harsh . The buttons on hero duet are pathetic compared to activa or jupiter . The engine sound is also more than activa and jupiter
And i feel the when ever duet go in bit of water it feels that the tyre are loosing control feels that it ll skid.

see bro, no vehicle is perfect. I'm activa 125 owner & even I have many issues. From what I have heard is that the engine on duet gets smoother as one clocks more kms.
loud noise can be rectified & on recent batches of duet, the refinement is Top notch

How are you bro? Hope both your hero products doing great. The update on duet ownership experience with regards to reliability, engine smoothness would be welcomed. I'm eagerly waiting for it.

Congrats for owning a new scooter! My cousin bought one about 8 months ago (Duet VX). Personally I felt nothing special about the scooter except the external fuel filling and metal body. Metal body adds few kilos of weight thus resulting in poor pickup. When throttling, the engine makes a noise but the speed doesn't really increases. Truth is, the engine has average pickup and I didn't feel anything unique about it. On the other hand, I had the opportunity to test ride a Maestro Edge and I felt much better riding it. Probably due to it reduced weight, as a result of the Fibre body, it responds to the throttle much better. I give Duet 4 out of 10 because of its very average engine performance and average comfort.

Rode Hero Duet for some kms..

                              Who should by Duet?
Ans: People who want a scooter for commuting from point A to B.

People who haved decided to buy Activa 3g, must change their mind and buy this scooter, because Activa is not the worth the money spend, other thing Duet even looks similiar, far better features TELESCOPIC forks they make a big difference in braking stability, handling and offers better comfort .

If you dont mind the looks, then Duet is even a better option than Honda Dio.

Who should not buy this scooter?
-Those who need a perfomance scooter.
-Those who want good acceleration from standstil.
(If you are someone who is always in hurry, forget this scooter)

For better performance and if you have pillion most of the time, I would suggest 125cc scooters (Access ,Activa 125)

Hope this will help some one new to scooters and confused to pick Duet or not.

                              Cheers.

In the market for a scooter. Previously, I was looking at all fibre body scooters but keeping in mind how gracefully metal bodies scooter age and resale value, I started looking for scooters with metal body. I have activa 125, vespa and access 125 (only a couple of body parts are metal but its new). Now I am also considering Hero Duet without taking the engine capacity into consideration.

Please tell me what are the problems you're facing in activa 125? My first problem was rude showroom, test ride and service mechanic experience. I lost hope of a good ownership experience with it and there isn't a good mechanic next to my place that I can trust too. But I am sure it will age well and will have good resale value due to brand name and metal body.

Access is on hold because of the flimsy fibre body and the quality of plastic used. Even the older access has poor resale value compared to activa 125/ 3g/ 4g.

Vespa is in a different price league and my last resort.

Now, here comes duet. How is the resale value of this one? Will the scooter age gracefully? In the BS4 variant, the company has reduced engine power output but torque comes in earlier in the RPM range. Given that the power is down, will it make the scooter slower and affect mileage? Also what have they done to the 2017 duet exhaust -_- the older one was nice to look at. I want to buy and support an Indian brand but simply can't stop comparing them with the foreign ones. Can't deny how they fare better in comparison to Indian ones too.

Just an add on - test ridden many scooters and I should say the plastics that Honda use are better than other brands. However, not like the plastics in older generation activa. Dio and Maestro are two fibre body scooters that have good plastics. Hope duet has good ones too. Alpha from Yamaha has poorer quality plastics in comparison.
