Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
I also removed tank to install mobile charger & there are two hose pipes in my bs6 himalayan. That is not supposed to be and there should be two hose pipes underneath the fuel tank.Originally posted by blackspark3 View Post

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Hi all! Today, I tried to remove the tank of my bike to install mobile charger. I saw in many videos there are two hoses under the tank, one for EVAP & another for water overflow drainage. But in my bike(BS6), I saw only EVAP hose. There is no overflow hose. But there is an outlet under the tank for it. Is that how it is supposed to be in the bs6 models?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Hm that is a decent brand should not have given up on you like that, did you check whether the bike is charging the battery at all ?Originally posted by Thim View PostAmaron Pro Rider
If all of that is ok, could you state what did you mean by non usage for 15 months that the bike was kept idle even without starting the motor once? if so then through storage the battery simply drained out, if you plan to store like that in the future, disconnect the battery.

What was the batt brand? looks like yo got sahfted thereOriginally posted by Thim View PostHi All, I needed an opinion on this one.
My bike is just 15 months old and my battery gave up 2 months ago.
I got it charged and was all fine until a week ago when I cranked the engine after 10 days. The engine came back to life and I had kept it for idling and 30 secs later it stopped.
Tried cranking again but it wouldn't start and took the battery for charging.
Installed the battery and tried to start and it wouldn't start. The battery guy checked the reading and it showed 8.something and he said the battery is unable to hold the charge. I got it charged for another 6 years and the reading showed 10.
Spoke to RE service centre and they have asked me to bring it with the insurance and RC copy .
Now is it normal for the battery to behave this way in a matter of 15 months. But I will admit that my usage had reduced considerably due to the lockdown but I used to ensure I am either idling it or taking it for a short spin every week.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
I have fitted KTM Duke 390 mirrors. Trust me, they are more solid, gives more view & looks good than the stock mirrors on Himalayan. Initially, I too had considered Dominar's mirrors. But as you said, I don't know how it will fit. So bought ktm for ₹448 for a pair & it was easy to fit.
But, be careful when you try to fit the mirrors in the hole.
I just rotated the left side mirror in the opposite direction and the threads in the hole(yoke) of the handlebar were stripped. And I made a complete mess which caused the whole threads wiped out. And I had to replace the whole yoke with lever. My bad!!!Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostI have seen some dominar 400 BS6 type mirrors on some post on Facebook as well as on roads and they look super sexy and sturdier then the stock mirrors, my question is are they a direct fit on to the Himalayan or is there any mods required? or any other mirrors that can be a direct fit and be actually more useful than the stock once.Last edited by blackspark3; 09-19-2020, 08:58 PM.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
If my memory serves me right, the older Dominar had a different setup which can perhaps fit the Himalayan, provided the nut tap diameter is the same. The newer BS6 Domi's have a separate screw in screw post which needs to be attached on the handlebar, then the mirrors screwed in. Worth a shot if you can actually fit the stalk post on the Himalayan's handlebar.Originally posted by hd_hardikdesai View PostI have seen some dominar 400 BS6 type mirrors on some post on Facebook as well as on roads and they look super sexy and sturdier then the stock mirrors, my question is are they a direct fit on to the Himalayan or is there any mods required? or any other mirrors that can be a direct fit and be actually more useful than the stock once.
Good luck.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Looks like a case of poor manufacturing and even poorer quality control. Plz return them ASAP and seek replacement. I checked my friends Himalayan pannier rails. They fit correctly and there is no such misalignment.Originally posted by Harkirat008 View PostHello friends
I got panniers & pannier rails from RE. While fitting them i noticed fitting of pannier rails is not proper & is misaligned at two places as shown in pictures. Has anyone faced this??
I have tried many times but this remains same. That seems to be a manufacturing defect in either pannier rails or chasis of bike.
Any thoughts..??

Plz do not try to forcefully fit it as you might end up damaging the mounting points on the bike and would have a bigger problem on your hands. You should have them replaced and preferably get the new rails mounted in the workshop itself.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
I am not sure if I am the right one to comment on this one, as I don't own the exact pannier rails. But from the looks of it, it does seem like manufacturing defect indeed, a shoddy job at one, or I could be wrong. This just doesn't look right after spending all that money on a branded OE fitting add-ons if it indeed is a manufacturing defect. The chassis should be defect free. These aftermarket rods are locally fabricated and sold as RE goods. I strongly feel that this "is" a manufacturing defect. Do cross with with other bikes or with another pannier rail, if you can get hold of one.Originally posted by Harkirat008 View PostHello friends

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Safeena had her second free service-just general check and bolt nut tightening-but a big big difference-all the resonances at different speeds have disappeared with the tightening of the bolts
-took Safeena upto 110kmph just to countercheck-had never exceeded 100kmph till now-but all was good-so guys if your Himi is tingling/rattling/vibrating,a fastener re torquing is in order.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
Hello all, my bs6 Himma clocked around 4000kms now. By the end of this month, it completes 6 months so it's due for 2nd service. But I feel like I should wait for 5000kms to complete for 2nd service. Because, everything is fine with my bike as I have been taking good care of it.
But, one person told me that I must go for 2nd free service within the prescribed period (6 months here) no matter how much kms it clocked. Otherwise, the SVC will not accept or charge fees. I said to him that it's not like that...
What will you suggest me to do? Wait for 5000 kms to complete or should I go for the service immediately?

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan
With Safeena standing for many hours in the rain courtesy the numerous rainstorms, she received some TLC today-front end opened up to re grease the front end headstock bearings-some 140 no. gear oil was poured on top to form a super slick and sticky mixture -hope all systems work well[emoji3]
