You can't go wrong with any of these, I use LiquiMoly, in ASC they use Motul V300. I feel there is slightly less heating on long rides since I switched.

Hi All, planning to have synthetic oil in Himalayan just for a change and experience.
Currently it has Mobil 5100 15W50 which is semi synthetic. I am very happy with it, super smooth performance in all aspects specially on highways.

Firstly how does she behaves with pure synthetic, please share your experiences.
If you suggest to use synthetic, which of these is most compatible, however all should go good.

    1. Motul 15W50 300V factory line
    2. Liqy Moly 15W50
    3. Shell Advance Ultra 15W50

All are API SL or above.

    Thanks for your replies.

Start off by reading your owners manual, that is your thorough bible on how to take care of your bike, each step as detailed by the manufacturer.

    Cheers!

My only concern is the speedometer mounting. Has anyone done such mods, if yes will require some help or tips.
PS- I tried contacting Art Of Motorcycles for the speedometer mount but they said they were having some issues in shipping the Item.
Headlight mounts of any RE product that uses the same 41mm front fork will be compatible-i have personally seen this conversion on a bike in parking lot but didn't click any pictures-the speedometer mounts where a fabricated part which clamped to the fork tubes just under the upper fork clamp -guess an expert mechanic can guide you how to go about it.

... You can check RE's proprietary gear website, they have excellent jackets and great boots, though their helmet ranges aren't inspiring. But, if you've gotten some coupons, I'd strongly recommend you to use it with their website, good quality gears. You have lots of aftermarket radiator grills, rear brake cylinder protector/heel guard. Zana makes great quality crash bars, extremely sturdy and great paint quality, strongly recommend them.

    Hope it helps!

Thanks again VJ. I have been wondering if the RE knuckle guards, radiator grill and heel guard are worth it since most of the apparel that I was interested in has been out of stock and the supply chain is severed due to COVID-19. The offer entails me to redeem Rs 3000 worth of products (GMA and Apparel) only through the dealership where I got the bike from, which is another bummer as the website has a lot more variety of stuff available for immediate purchase. I have received yet another text saying I can avail of 20% discount on RE merchandise, again, through the dealer itself. :/

    5) from the start I just loved the exhaust note and the Basseyness and the road presence it gives it just amazing, its kind of loud for the normal appartment early starts and medium for the city rides and kinda inaudible at speeds of 80kmph+

    7) Also add better lights, wind deflectors and a plastic seat cover as the seat remains wet for long once water sips in.

    Ride safe
Thanks Hardik. The exhaust note is noticeably shrill than the other bikes I've heard at the showroom and service centre. Will be taking it up with the service guys. As for the lights, I've ridden the bike a few times during the night and am highly dissatisfied. My car had 55/60 bulbs which I had swapped with a 90/100 set using a relay which made life much easier. Thinking of a similar workaround for the REH or maybe a LED bulb? And yes, will be getting a seat cover soon (maybe custom made).

Thank you zestbiker. The saying, "great minds think alike" comes to my mind after reading this! Mine is a 2015 (earliest batch) Zeta 1.3, which one is yours?

Update on the bike itself now:

The bike has clocked 390 km as of today and the service reminder icon will be showing up soon. I have been reading and researching about additives and oils etc. I got in touch with the dealership's service center and the supervisor told me that it is compulsory to get the RE engine oil poured into the bike if I intend to keep my warranty. This was disheartening to hear but I've experienced such from car authorized service centers too.

I've been wanting to put a better oil in the REH. From what I know, I have two options:
    1. Drain the RE oil immediately after service, flush & pour LiquiMoly 2555 or Motul 5100 (Ideal solution, but costly and not environment friendly)
    2. Keep the RE oil and add an oil additive to it like the LiquiMoly Oil Treatment (Non ideal solution, but better than simply using RE oil)

I was also told that I wouldn't be allowed in the workshop during the time of servicing of the bike as per safety rules set by RE. Also, can anyone suggest which service center in Delhi (preferably, West) should be preferred? I've heard disturbing stories about some RE service centers and I just want to be precarious... Maybe I'm just getting a little too anxious about a simple job because of my trust issues following the dealership experience?

No, not completely just a I mm strip covering the edges of the side cover, it won't at all affect Safeena's breathing ability, but that's just my though. Safeena, has gotten huge gaps to breathe nicely.

    Cheers!

Beautiful mod ZB. The reversing of the intake snorkel is a great tip. Would love to get a view of the snorkel cap removed and shown here. Would definitely help others who intend to do the same mod. And yes, the newer spacers are much better. Just paint them black, so they don't stick out. One more tip I would say is, since you have gaps there around the edge of the side cover due to the new spacers, I'd suggest, you use thick black foam (the ones that come with White Goods hard yet malleable foams), get it cut in long thin strips and stick it around the inside perimeter of the side cover. This way, when you put it back, there is no gap, plus the foam acts as a vibration dampener and makes it looks sealed.

    Cheers!

XPulse is good, but not great, it still is no match in comfort for the Himalayan and ground clearance can be a fidgety thing on the XPLS. But, where the XPLS shines is the weight factor and the same fun offered by the Hima, if not better at certain tricky situations. The bike is a great little tool to go around ripping the woods and what not, without the fear toppling over, purely due to weight. The Hima needs a strong pair of legs and hands. The XPLS again is a cheaper scaled down version of the Hima, that does somethings better than Hima.

Hima is an extremely stable bike on the road, wind and cross winds. The xPulse basically has zero cross wind tolerance, it just whiplashes unless two up. But that's with any light weight motorcycle. For the price XPLS is great VFM.

    Cheers!
