TVS Apache RTR 200 4V Ownership Experience

    Yes! It also depends on how capable you are. Seating position is decent compromise between sporty and upright

    Seat is a little bit on the harder side, pillion comfort is just about adequate.

    Question 4 - How's the bike's build quality?
    On a scale of 1 to 5, I would rate it 4

    Question 5 - How's the braking performance?
    Excellent brakes and progressive.



    Question 6 - Are it's spares easily available?
    Yes. Over the counter spares for basic items are pretty much available.

    A decent, cheap bike to own and maintain.

The Zapper series FS are decent ones, does duty on Pulsar and the likes and they are pretty much hard wearing. The TVS Remora the another inhouse tire, too offers Zapper-ish grip, though I haven't had a chance to encounter the way I did with Pirellis. Both the Zapper and Remora cost almost similar with a few hundred bucks difference here and there, but if you want decent life and above average performance Zapper and Remoras do the job. Steer clear of Michelin Pilot Sporty tires, they are a scary set of tires, personally I felt.

    During the current ongoing situation, I am not riding my bike frequently. Also going to my native for at least 3 months.

    Any special care needs to be taken to keep the bike idle for 3 or more months.

    I have the body cover & shade parking. Also, I will wash the bike, lubricate the chain, and have tire pressure at least 5psi more than what is recommended.

    Any thing else which you all can share, please do.

    Bangalore weather is somewhat cold now a days. Scared, what if the bike doesn't start as it still have the pathetic cold start issues.

    Additionally, I want to share that I had recently serviced my bike at 16400km. Had to replace the clutch plate and it costs around 2500rs plus fresh engine oil.
    With all my service records, I must say this is a high maintenance bike but not as much as duke.

    I have bought the BS6 version 3 weeks back. It has run 110 KM till date. I can confirm the clutch is feather light and gear shifting is smooth with no jerks. May be get a second opinion from another service centre or better yet. Take a test ride if possible from a different dealership.

    Yeah, I did ask them during the first service and clutch play is good, gear shifting is smooth as well, and they told its ok. So, the only logical conclusion I came to is that RE 2.0 didn't have GTT (the bike I rode around a year back), so for GTT to work without stalling you need to be able to release the clutch more slowly, so maybe the BS6 version is not as light as RE 2.0, not sure. I also saw somewhere that the clutch travel has slightly increased for GTT in all the RTRs, again, not sure. Sadly there were no other RTR 200 present outside the service center to compare the feel back to back.

    If anyone else feels there has been literally no change to the clutch lever in any aspect and it is still feather light in BS6, please do let me know, I will try asking in another service center as well to confirm. Thanks.

    Why not check with service centre guys to get the clutch play adjusted? There should be a nut which needs to adjusted for free clutch play. That should take care of it.

I have a feeling my clutch is actually tight comparatively as the other RTR 200 I have ridden I could easily pull in the clutch with one finger, this takes quite some effort for the same. Could it be some issue with the clutch assembly or should I just give it time as the bike has only 600 kms on the ODO?

    Sorry it's completely irrelevant to this thread. But, I having a similar situation with my motorcycle. I have a 2005 Hero Honda CBZ Star and I love riding it every time. But I am also lacking the bite from the front brake. I was searching on xbhp for disc plate upgrade when I found your post. I hope you find the solution to your problem brother.

    I was hoping if I could find a similar setup that can be an upgrade and is a direct fit to my motorcycle.
