It is a known issue in 200 4v and 160 4v. I know few people who got it replaced for free under warranty.

Lately there was a sort of rattling noise from the exhaust assembly. I got it checked at the service center. Turns out the muffler weld gave up.

I asked them options to fix it but they say that the exhaust will need to be replaced since they cant weld it now. I'm pretty sure replacement is gonna be a costly affair.

Its a bit odd that something which was welded in the manufacturing process cannot be welded now. I wanted to check with fellow owners if they faced any exhaust related noises, and how they were fixed.

I am considering getting it checked from someone professional to see if they can help weld it together, any recommendations in Mumbai?

Also, I'm not really looking to get an aftermarket exhaust but if it is really the most feasible option then I can look into it. I have zero reaserch on the aftermarket exhausts for first gen RTR200 so again, the internet and you guys are all I have.

    Thanks a lot!
    Ride safe.

Hi, I want to do some modifications to the Apache 200 like adding knuckle guard, luggage mount (on the back side like Himalayan), ladies handle, etc.
Is there any better place in chennai for this?

Go to another service center and ask them to replace the seal and measure and fill correctly. You can check the manual for fork oil quantity also.
Thanks for reply, yes if it leaks again I need to change the service center and see. And this fork as per manual uses KYB oil, but these service center says, company recommends tvs fork oil.....

I wanted to change oil myself but will it affect warranty condition?

    Thanks

And the service center they told, it can happen . So i paired and got it replaced. But then again on just after second service the same right fork was leaking. This time I was bit upset, once is okay 2nd time with in 3 month not good. I ride the vehicle for 12 km a day (single rider) and not wont jump speed breakers. I take care of my bike well. But they were telling due to hump this will happen, and said this time we will fix it had wont happen. But yesterday was my 3rd service and the bike started leaking oil like couple weeks ago. This time also the same right fork. This time they dint charge me for the oil and seal. But still they dint find the issue. Am 100% sure this will happen next month also. Am worried, what to do next ? in fork the only serviceable part is oil seal ? anything else can be the issue ?

And as of now the odometer is reading 1650km. Very sad that the premium suspension is having these kind of issue !!

    thanks,

Got it checked at SVC, they asked to try and get it charged once. But even after that self isn't working.

I was worried because it has been just 14 months and battery is dead. I am not too sure about the reason too.
Is it because my bike was not much into running and has been kept still for 10-15 days 3-4 times in past year?

    Anyone else had such issue?
Batteries don’t like to sit idle for days. You can try disconnecting the battery terminals if you are leaving the bike idle for long periods of time as it reduces the level of discharging.

Do check your wiring for any loose terminals/connections.etc as that can cause batteries to lose charge quicker over time.

You can try claiming warranty on the battery and get a replacement or you can go and get a new battery otherwise.

I became proud owner of RTR 200 2.0 ABS (Gifted) last sunday. This is my 1st 200 CC ABS bike. I have few questions that might have been answered already but will appreciate if you guys enlighten me.

    1. Is Saree guard Footrest available for this variant. If not, is it possible to make minor changes in the existing guard as I want it in any case. Anyone knows where can I get it in Pune.

    2. What kind of care need to be taken to keep the bike shining.

    3. I face cold start issue in the morning. Is it normal and is it ok to use choke. Sometimes I face issue to stalling/low rpm issue while starting the bike after 9-10 hrs.

    4. 1st free service is due in next 150 kms so need suggestions about engine oil. How is TVS Fully synthetic oil. Does using oil other than TVS void the warranty?.

    5. Will the bike performance be affected if I soften the rear suspension by 1-2 step?

I must say for a '13 RTR 160 user RTR 200 is a boon. It feels like you are not riding but floating. The comfort is unmatched and I get cravings to ride it more. Hoping that this experience is not ruined by improper service of ASC.
Yes, Saree Guard available. You need to keep on checking its availability at the service center

    • Cruising speed where the engine feels & sounds comfortable. - 90-95 kmph at highway.
    • NVH levels, when(RPM) & where(part of bike) do they creep in? upto 7k RPM sounds and keeps it cool
    • Mileage when driven calmly and when throttled insanely. when on highways - 40-45 kmpl. When on city - 30 kmpl. Note that I drive calmly at 80-85 kmph on highways with out any change in throttle and drive in city with insane throttle variance and gear changes.

    2) Reliability & Quality
    • Break downs - None so far, only few minor niggles that too because of pathetic service by ASC.
    • Bodywork quality (Metal corrosion, Fiber parts durability & any annoying sounds which can't be serviced) - known to have chain noise but I have reduced to nil by torturing ASC, repeated visits to them after service and periodical maintenance of chain every 500-800 kms (ASC always mess up the chain slack at service and have to followup 2 to 3 times after service to adjust the chain to be spot on)
    • Emissions after long term (No one cares about this, I have no idea why? So, if you too have no idea it's understandable) I never see any kind of visible smoke comes from the silencer.
    • Any other issues - gear sensor issues and fuel sensor issues.

    3) City Riding
    • Agility and lightness - one the best if maintenance was done properly.
    • Overtaking ability - better than R15 but still looses to NS200's 6th gear.
    • Engine temperature in stop go traffic - never felt the heat in my legs.
    • Mileage - 30 kmpl. you have to be a saint to get more than that.

    4) TVS's Roadside Assistance
    • Coverage - Never used but it was covered as a part of the buying process for 5 years.
    • Cost

ODO on the roads - 1,00,000+
    ODO on the Apache 200 - 10,000+
    Hey Brother,

Thanks for the details. Please narrow me down to the below queries:

    1. What do you mean by periodical maintenance of chain? Is the proper cleaning and lubing at every 500km

    2. I can feel the engine heat during bumper to bumper traffic. What I have to ask the ASC to rectify it?

    3. My bike throttle sound isn't as like the new bike. It is a bit more noisy. Does it with every bike?

    4. I know the gear sensors and fuel sensors are bad, I dont know how the ASC had mistuned the fuel reserve meter as Trip F doesn't display and the bike comes in reserve post 10.5lts where the manual says it should be 9.5lts.

    5. My bike also has 10k+ ODO and 5th Service is due. What and all checks do I have to ask ASC?

    6. ASC doesn't clean the chain sprockets during the free service, do they do it if requested on extra charge?
