Gear sensor in RTR200 is a very common issue. but changing it 4 times in a year is quite unbelievable. Gear sensor can be glitchy due to oil dissipation in between sensor and its position clamp. once the oil is cleaned, the sensor will work very fine. Gear sensor is located above the front chain sprocket and secured by two 8mm flange head screws
Thank you for your input about the Self Start. Have informed same to the asc many times and it seems they haven't done it. Today, I'm going to retune the Carb and check about the cold start. But Since the day 1 I am facing this issue.

In all 6 service, either asc has cleaned the gear sensors or changed it. But still after cleaning, the sensors doesn't work properly. So I have considered it as a common issue.

I had a rope style helmet lock which I had tied up to the side saree guard.

Coming to maintenance: While cleaning or dusting, please use the cloths with soft hands near to the horse logo or else they will run away. 1 horse will cost you around 700bucks. Take care of the stickers. In my bike it was coming out within 2months of purchase. Park in shade. Avoid direct sunlight as this might be an issue but not sure.

Cold Start: What to say about it. If you're following this forum, you have an idea. My bike is perfect it this situation. Parked under shade for 4 hrs or more, you have to use choke. Parked in open for 5hrs or more, you have to use choke. Without choke, it refuse to start and if you stay in a society where people look to your bike and admires its beauty, definitely be shameless every morning as it will not start with choke also in one shot :P

The self start also has mysterious issues not sure only with my bike or others also face the same. Some times, if the bike is in gear and you want to start it with holding the clutch properly, the bike doesn't start. You have to put it in neutral to start. It is ridiculous when you're in a traffic or stopping at signals. Most of the time you have to put the bike in neutral to start. In this scenario, my glamour does well. It even starts in 4th gear. :P

My bike's ODO is 13800km and till date repairs are listed below:

Spark Plugs (has to be changed in 10k km) - no warranty
Cone Set (Good for 15k kms. But my bike cone set gone in 12k kms) No warranty
    Head lamp bulb- No warranty
Left Side switches - No warranty
Gear Sensor: 3 times within a year and the 4th one is also gone now.(No Warranty) (Very Common issue. within 3-4 months it will display false gear positions)
    Fuel Sensor: No warranty
Horse Logo both sides: Done by TVS after rigorous complaints
Right Rear Panel: Done by TVS after rigorous complaints due to the sticker issue

Pending: Clutch Plate(It is good for up to 15k kms but in bangalore's traffic it seems gone now)

Note: my bike is one year old.

Actually, I am planning to sell this bike now. Had enough of visiting service centers. They do a service and a new issue pops up within a month.

Now, engine response is also not lenient. It is lagging somewhat because, to get power you have to be in 4k or more rpm. Don't know if this is bcoz clutch plate or something else. I believe, my bike is over driven as in year it has completed 13800kms and all the distance within the city. Haven't taken it to a long drive on highways.

But there are good things also about this bike:

It is a style statement. Mine is black color variant. Throttle response was also good and best exhaust note within the segment. Best engine also. No vibrations. Very good and soft braking not like bajaj 200ns. My bike's Top speed is 118 with a pillion and it is quite stable. No vibrations. Mileage is good. For single rider, around 38kmpl and with pillion, around 34kmpl was getting earlier.

Hope, I have covered most of your concerns.

PS: Please complete the run in period as specified. Don't put lot of stress on the engine. Use HELMET and Drive Safe.

Post changing engine oil and filter and doing proper diesel wash, it seems the carb tuning messed up. I want to do it on stock setting and then tune them.

Guys pls share the stock carb setting.

A few queries regarding my new bike:
    1. How is your experience with Smart X Connect App? Any bugs, niggles?
    2. How is your experience in maintaining White colour RTR 200? How does the colour hold long term? Is there yellowing?
    3. Where have you installed helmet lock? I had installed them on rear pillion handgrip in RTR 160 which faces backwards and is longer. RTR 200's faces forward and is too short to install here? Please post pictures.
    4. I went through this ownership thread. The most common problem faced seems to be cold start. Is there any other common issue in RTR 200 that I should be aware of?

    Thanks in advance.
I can't wait to have my new bike delivered.

I asked about cleaning because the monoshock is covered in grime as of now after my recent ride of 1200 kms. It may or may not affect the ride quality but it sure looks dirty

10w40 will be perfect choice but 10w50 will compromise the performance. Due to Extra viscous in the oil , engine power delivery will be affected.

Done already. I keep 25-28 (recommended) for a single rider. I found it to be hard. Later, I changed to 28-32 (which is common standard) and found a little difference. But, now even that feels a little bit hard.
