1.5cm is on the tighter side 2.2 with chain resting in top of the slider is perfectly ok.Originally posted by arya809 View PostI am getting irritated with Dominar's chain adjustment.
The mechanic keeps adjusting the chain on the tighter side. I got the 2nd free service done yesterday and he again adjusted the chain without my request to do so, he left it with ZERO slack. Went back there to get it rectified in my presence. Now the irritating part is that before tightening the axle nuts, the chain slack was exactly 2.2 cms and chain was already touching the swingarm and slider on the top. Then after tightening all the nuts, slack was reduced to 1.5 cms only! Is it okay to keep 1.5 cms or should I get it adjusted again till it's 2 cms at least?
Dominar has this issue where tightening the Axle makes it slide forward , best way is to hold the square blocks by hand while tightening the axel to prevent it from sliding forward. Make sure to measure the and adjust the slack with wheel on the ground or bike in paddock stand(swing arm should be loaded with bikes weight).

For the tight chain you can adjust the slack should be between 20 to 30mm , make sure to measure it with wheel on ground or bike on the paddock stand(swingarm should bear the weight of the motorcycle) keep it straight as possible.

12v 30amp should do the job.Originally posted by _kamikaze_ View PostNo, this wiring will be a DIY. My regular mechanic is a bit proud and arrogant, despite all my requests he will end up doing what he thinks is best. And I also need to address some vibrations coming from the headlamp assembly so would be good opportunity to get that done as well.
Will the Amp rating in the relay matter ? I have a 80 amp relay, it should be good enough right ? Or do I need to go for a lower rating ?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Relays are great. You should get a 4-pin relay, inline -fuse at any local garage shop for cheap. Ive been using UnoMinda for more than a year now.Originally posted by _kamikaze_ View PostHuh, heard of using relays before but didn't know this is how they work, I like this idea, Thanks !
Will be useful since I'll need to install fog lamps soon as well but what needs to be the voltage/Amp rating for the relay ? There are 12V 30A relays on amazon, will those do ?
Here is a pic of my wiring harness for fog lamps, its similar for charger.
Complete Wiring can be as below:
1)wire from +ve Battery terminal --> 10amp inline fuse --> pin 87.
2)pin 30 ---> +ve/red wire of ( fog / charger) .
3)wire from drl/ignition --> on-off switch --> pin 86.
4)-ve/black wire of fog/charger + pin 85 wire --> Ground (any bare metal bolt of bike)
Request you to remove -ve terminal (first) and +ve terminal of battery beforehand.
If you do go to a mechanic, force him to use the relays and fuse, they get arrogant sometimes with their methods.
Also if anyone finds a way to improve this, id be happy to know.[emoji851][emoji2937]

Huh, heard of using relays before but didn't know this is how they work, I like this idea, Thanks !Originally posted by sandsbhatre View PostHi,
Our Bikes have wirings with specific voltage and current draw, its not recommended to use the internal wiring for mobile charger/ fog lamps/ extra horn. An Additional load on the wiring may cause problems since we got efi, abs etc.
I suggest you use power directly from the battery for the charger and use a relay to turn it on.
A relay is an electronic switch which turns on when bike is turned on. Connect the relay with any source(drl/ ignition/ horn) so that when you turn on with the key, only then the charger comes on.
Ive attached an image which i used to power my 18watt MI fastCharger socket.

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
Hi,Originally posted by _kamikaze_ View PostHas anyone here connected the mobile charger via ignition switch instead of from battery ? Reason I ask is that in a lot of facebook groups, forums etc I see people suggesting to connect mobile charger to the ignition switch so there's no chance of accidentally draining the battery, but NOWHERE could I find a video or post describing how to do this connection when there are tons of videos for various DIY tasks.
Can someone shed some light on this or point me to some place which provides instructions to get this done ?

Re: Bajaj Dominar 400 Ownership Experience Thread
You can connect the charger to the horn terminal because it switches on, only when the ignition switches on. Also you can put a switch in series with the charger to turn it on or off.Originally posted by _kamikaze_ View PostHas anyone here connected the mobile charger via ignition switch instead of from battery ?
