I adjusted the chain slack myself and measured the markings exactly in millimeters. As you all may know, it was a tedious process because the chain keeps getting tighter after tightening the axle nut.

I don't have a torque wrench so made some assumptions on how much body weight to put on the spanner. But I soon found out that rear wheel gets harder to spin as soon as you tighten the axle nut lightly. Based on that, I tightened it with medium force.

Then took it to the SVC and requested the friendly mechanic to re-adjust it with a torque wrench. By that time, the axle nut had become loose and he had to turn it a lot to finally arrive at 1000 kg.cm torque figure.

But that definitely tightens the rear wheel a lot, it doesn't spins more than 1 revolution freely by hand. IS THIS OKAY? ( In comparison it was making 2-3 revs by hand with fully opened axle nut).

It only require 9.0 to 11.0 kgm of torque 1 kg m is 9.5 something NM. For unit in cm 1000 seems ok. As for revolutions feeling tight then it could be a over tight chain slack or stuck brake pads. Free hand rotations are not as smooth in Motorcycles now days as it use to be, another factor is that one of the brake pads (inner) on the disc runs in little contact and it is ok.
If it the bolt is getting lose frequently then do get the Axel rod and bolt threads inspected. While aligning the chain adjuster on the rh side hold it in place by hand while tightening the axel so that it remains at its place.

Compare the free hand rotations of wheel with another Dominar sadly i can't do this as i no longer owns a Dominar but yes it was tight same in my current Motorcycle.

Reference pic is for the workshop manual (Spanish)

Got them for 6k, haven't had the chance to test them yet, only ran about 20km. Will post a review in a few days.

You might be talking about the BS6 Dominar 400. I have a 2019 UG, no petal disc.

Btw, can we expect improvements in terms of braking if switched to Petal Disc?
It is a direct fit, but it is a 3.5mm disc. Dom comes with a 4mm disc. Brake feel is greatly reduced after the swap, first hand experience.

I am a new user on xbhp. I own a dominar 400 2019 bike. It has completed 1 year of running. Can I get some help on the following issues/things I have noticed recently on my dominar.
    1. RPM Fluctuation - how much rpm variation is ok at idle. I feel the RPM Fluctuation is noticeable. If put on a paddock stand and 1st gear engaged the speed varies from 8kmph to 11kmph. Is this normal?
    2. Fuel Tank range - From past 4 , full tank , my km range is not going above 350 - 360 Kms. Earlier on full tank I was getting a Range between 395km to 411km. What could be the issue.
    3. I asked the service centre to update my speed console , so that I can get the gear indicator on the primary console. Is this update stable? Or I should not get it done?

    Thanks
    Jayant

I mean old disk would have different pressure points where it has reduced and forms a ring pattern.

Thus with new disk the pads with pattern can impact new disk , Else sand it and use old pads if they still have more life.
