Hello buddies iam going to upgrade my Fz version 2 in the coming months here comes the confusion, Duke 200 or Duke 250 which is the best option for me.
My riding includes 95% in the city and ocassionaly i go for the high way drives that too just 200-300 kms thats it.
Which will be the best option for me?
Hows the refinement levels in the 200 and 250?
My height is 5 feet and 9 inches.
Iam not a tourer my daily commute is 40 kms inside the city.
I hope you guys will clear my confusion[emoji846]

Hi Boss,Go for Duke 200 ,its cheaper, better mileage, spares and service slightly less expensive compared to 250 and since u drive mostly at city(40km/day) it should suit you well.Take a test drive of Hero Xtreme 200s( faired version) , Susuki Gsx 150 s ( Faired version) and Honda hornet 160..all the 3 bikes are also great esp in the long run.

I have gone through this thread and see that the initial bikes had quite a few niggles which seem to have been sorted as of now.

I am someone who loses sleep if something is amiss in my bike and won't be at peace till I am able to fix it.

So is it recommendable to opt for a KTM for someone like me? I am hoping once I love the bike, even if issues come up, I will be able to overlook it.

But overall can members share their opinion as to how manageable a KTM is these days especially the 250, considering I can find a decent enough SVC nearby and minimal to nil manufacturing issues.

I am planning to keep my next bike for a really long time and maybe even upto a lakh of kms or more.

          Thanks!

PS: I am not a fan of adding auxiliary equipment on the bike as in lights, so, is the stock headlight manageable for early morning/night highway rides?
Yes you're right about the initial niggles, but I would say that most of the issues have been sorted now. Duke 250 is fairly reliable now, it should last you a long time with timely maintenance and care. Maintenance cost would be little more compared to other manufacturers, but nothing out of the ordinary. I have 2013 model duke, I have done around 75k on it and it's going strong.
So if you're looking for a fun bike, then you can't go wrong with duke 250.
I would suggest you to take a test ride see how you feel and then decide [emoji106].

            Honda hornet?? And suzuki Gsx???[emoji15][emoji15]

Why would i consider those bikes since i ride a Fz version 2 which is also a 150cc & also a good reliable bike from yamaha.I want to upgrade for a higher cc fun bike so my primary choice is D200 but my mind says why not take a D250.
Since my travelling is mostly in the city traffic wanted to know which one is more suitable for my driving style.

D250 or D200 Bs6 which one among these more refined seen some videos on the you tube were the reviewers said that the D200 is smoother and refined than the D250.

Any Body who has test ridden both D200 & D250 Bs6 varients???

How is the power difference between D200 & D250??

Almost all the naked series have the same form factor, and the Duke 200 and 250 don't differ by a huge margin, especially when it comes to handling dynamics. The one place the D250 shines is comparatively a little bit more top speed, and low end torque than the 200. The Duke 200 also has superb low end torque and makes city driving an absolute breeze and trust me the vibes are almost nil on the newer 200, exceptionally smooth from the vibey nature of the old series. Frugal, up-to-date design and decent power makes it a great all rounder motorcycle. A cheap KTM to own and maintain.

              Cheers!

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Can the duke200 handles well in the traffic??
I think it has got the shorter gear ratios.
Can we tour on the D200 comfortably??
And why the D200 is smoother than its elder brother? [emoji12]

The Duke 200 is one of the best city bikes with enough torque to play with and the SR Gearbox makes it even better in city. You can tour, it depends on your ability, but with the MY2020 design, and good seat comfort, it's better in every way than the old design.

                  Smoother because it's new. Haha..

Your posts are making me mad to buy the Duke 200 immediately [emoji24][emoji24], But dont know when this lock down ends.
And do u think that extra 35K for the Duke 250 is worth over the 200? For my riding style.
As i said iam a 99% city rider and with the left over 1% for the tours that too short ones of maximum 300 kms[emoji12].

It purely depends on your finances and if you're interested in spending that extra and go for the extra CCs offered. Both bikes have dual channel ABS, same design, and with the Duke's peppiness as an excellent streetfighter, I don't see a reason why to spend that extra on a D250. I'd strongly side with 200 as a frugal and lovely city blaster and those touring and 300 KMs are a piece of cake for the motorcycle.

                      Cheers!

Iam a 30 Year family boy[emoji16] which colour will be the best fit for me i use the bike regularly for the office approx 40 kms drive.
I feel the colour options are little fancy for my age.

Hi guys...I have a couple of queries with regards to the braking system -
                            1. I upgraded my brake pads to the sintered ones of the 390.
But I was surprised to find that the sintered pads made for the 320mm rotors of 390 were of the exact same dimensions as that of the normal pads installed with the 300 mm disc
So, why does the 390 have bigger disc because the contact patch that the pad makes with the disc is same in both the bikes?

                            2. My odo stands at 4000 kms but I hv started experiencing a very spongy front brake lever. Also an air bubble is visible within the fluid when looking through the glass of the fluid reservoir. What should I do to restore the brake feel ? ( I already tried the rubber band method but it didn't made any tangible difference)

Why not a Husky 250? Svartpilen? cheaper than duke 250 and looks just wow. It's a bit premium than duke 250. And mechanically same to duke 250.
