Re: 2017 Duke 250
Nope, the 390's headlamp comes with a built in ECU for different modes. I own both the 390 and the 250, trust me the halogen light is any day more functional than the sad LED lights of the 390.Originally posted by iam._nj View PostCan we fit duke 390’s headlights in d250 ?

low beam is good but high beam is of no use thats why either i’am planning to go for 390’s headlight (if cheap) or i’ll install a projector with 55w HIDOriginally posted by Jon Niranjan Paul View PostNope, the 390's headlamp comes with a built in ECU for different modes. Re: 2017 Duke 250
I have some questions
I’ve been riding duke 250 from last 2 years and i was the member of the whatsapp group but some how there was some misunderstanding and i left is that group still active ? Do we have got the solution for the jerk while accelerating?
Do iridium spark plugs improve mileage or performance ? Will installing Off road tyres will reduce the bumps or improve the comfort ? I’am a traveller and usually go to hilly areas!

LED's are worse, unless you have a projector set up. I would advise you to go for higher rated halogen bulbs. There are plenty available online, and my personal favorite is https://www.powerbulbs.com/eu/produc...vision-h4-twinOriginally posted by iam._nj View Postlow beam is good but high beam is of no use thats why either i’am planning to go for 390’s headlight (if cheap) or i’ll install a projector with 55w HID
It's a bit pricey (cheaper than a projector setup), but genuine spares, unlike the indian market (you never know what you're getting), and I've been buying from powerbulbs since 2012 for the car/motorcycle.

No clue on a WA group. Looking at your location, yes you can go for dual sport tyres, but also carry tubes with you just in case. Iridium spark plugs aid in quicker combustion (isn't the stock one iridium?). I'd suggest to go for the double iridium plugs instead (do a quick Google search). What is the jerk you're talking about? At what RPM?Originally posted by iam._nj View PostI have some questions

Re: 2017 Duke 250
Iridium plugs don't improve mileage or acceleration by a huge, they help in cold starts and help engine start easier, provide crisper throttle response. Being Iridium, they are basically service free and have long life compared to stock ones.Originally posted by iam._nj View PostI have some questions

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
The girl said, 'NO!'
And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Okey. So do offroad tyres like Ralco will improve the comfort level ?Originally posted by B7ACKTHORN View PostIridium plugs don't improve mileage or acceleration by a huge, they help in cold starts and help engine start easier, provide crisper throttle response. Ralco is a bias ply, hard tire. Though it is okay for off-road use, it doesn't offer any comfort per se. It's a decent and cheap tire that lasts long and works well for off road.Originally posted by iam._nj View PostOkey. So do offroad tyres like Ralco will improve the comfort level ?

You can fiddle with your seats, add a little cushion or convert it to gel seat and or adjust your rear shock settings to the softest.Originally posted by iam._nj View PostThen how can i increase the comfort ?

Re: 2017 Duke 250
Hello Guys,
I finally booked my Duke 250 ABS. Will be getting delivery of the bike in couple of days.
I was riding Apache RTR 180 (non ABS) from past 4 year and had a wonderful time trashing that machine for 80K+ Kms. That will be still part of my garage as wife also wants to start riding, Guess she is tired of being Pillion now
. So after pondering over many options and multiple rejections by my wife, we could agree on to Duke 250. I was well inclined on to Duke 390 but considering my usage and practicality 250 was better fit in terms of everything that it has to offer. The original plan was to get a GS310r but well you all can guess the story behind not getting one. RE was a big no from my side as i like to rev the machine nicely. Will be updating the ownership review post 1st service.
Couple of things i would like to get inputs on:
1. I feel the stock mirrors are too small to have a clear vision behind and around. (i want to fit Apache's mirrors)
2. The gear shift lever is way too inclined downwards which forces you to push your leg down more and shift. I have a bigger foot and can get overboard while shifting down. Just afraid if this can cause any issue like hitting an un expected bump on the road(rocks and stuff). Hope this is adjustable and SVC guy can do that for me.
3. Need to modify the Seats, seems too hard for me. Will wait to get used to it.
4. Can someone help me with procedure to adjust preload on rear suspension.

my comments in boldOriginally posted by msuthar25 View Post1. I feel the stock mirrors are too small to have a clear vision behind and around. (i want to fit Apache's mirrors)
you just need to adjust the stock mirrors, and they do a pretty good job.
2. The gear shift lever is way too inclined downwards which forces you to push your leg down more and shift. I have a bigger foot and can get overboard while shifting down. yes, the lever position can be raised or lowered.. a 2 min adjustment.
3. Need to modify the Seats, seems too hard for me. Will wait to get used to it.
you probably will get used to it. give it sometime to adapt yourself.
4. Can someone help me with procedure to adjust preload on rear suspension.
you will most probably receive the spl tool (a hook spanner) in the tool kit to adjust the rear suspension. or the svc will also have one. you need to use that to turn the adjuster to bump it up or down. the stock setting is fine for a solo rider of around 80kg. if you frequently carry a pillion or weigh north of 95, bump it up by 1 or 2 levels (always make changes in increments of 1 and check for a few days). playing with the rear suspension without knowing what you are doing could cause more trouble in handling/stability.
pl download the owners manual and give it a read, easily available online from ktm itself. if you are more interested, the workshop/repair manual is also a good read.
