Re: 2017 Duke 250
Sometimes after shifting the gears the gear leaver remains stuck for a 1-2 seconds. But no other issues while shifting the gears. I have a bad habit of keeping the clutch pulled more often then not when in traffic. Does this have anything to do with damaging clutch plates.?Originally posted by snoufaltariq View PostThen it's time to change the clutch plates I think .Is the gearshift smooth

Re: 2017 Duke 250
Hi guys. I want a sports cruiser for touring. I have two questions
1. When am riding with my team mostly comprised of avenger 220's and other such low power bikes will i feel overpowered? I mean like can i cruise at around 60 to 80 in top gear?
2. I ride a pulsar 180 right now which i maintain very well and its very smooth. When i took the test drive Duke 250 for a ride i felt vibrations. Will these vibrations fade away and become refined? Because i also took the Dominar for a test drive 10 mins later and it was very smooth (it was in crap condition with many broken parts yet very smooth).
My brain sees dominar as the logical choice. But my heart cant decide between Dominar and D250. I seriously love the freaky looks of the d250.
I once rode from Madurai to Banglore (400 km) in a Thunderbird 350 and half way through when i took a tea break my hands were vibrating like a tuning fork. I dont want that to happen ever. Is there any other sub 2 lakh bike that will suit touring? Except cbr and mojo. Ok now thats a third question 😁

Re: 2017 Duke 250
Wait for the dominar update.Duke 250 is good you can do 110 constant foor peg vibrations will be slightly there or you can even wait for the RE twins. If you hate RE then wait for the dominar update or just get a 390 man there is very negligible difference. The worth you get for your money is just awesome.Just go for 390 if you only tour and some city riding instead of getting a 250.Truth be told 250 is not worth for it's price.I fell for it's looks and a very different power delivery than any other KTMs.390 is light years ahead.Just get the 390.Dominar is also good but 390 is in a different league.Originally posted by Shyamtg View PostHi guys. Re: 2017 Duke 250
Yes, this is not good for the clutch and would increase wear. The plates shouldn't wear out so fast since it is 1500kms old. As snoufaltariq said, do test out some other bikes regarding the in gear speeds, but would suggest to go easy as the engine hasn't run that many kms.Originally posted by USThakur View PostSometimes after shifting the gears the gear leaver remains stuck for a 1-2 seconds. 1 - Well, the 250 is very happy at 60 - 80 you could put it in 6th and chill out and the engine will still have enough punch to overtake.Originally posted by Shyamtg View PostHi guys. I want a sports cruiser for touring. I have two questions

2&3 - I see that you are concerned about vibrations. I would suggest you go for the CBR or the Mojo or wait a bit for the Jawa. the Dominar or the D250 are in all fairness - manageable, but if you are looking for that butter smooth experience, these are not the bikes for that.Last edited by strahl7; 10-18-2018, 10:55 PM.

Thank you for the reply bro. 390 is kinda way over my budget. So i will probably get the 250. I will soon update my purchase bro.

Minimal vibrations are ok bro. If it can cruise am ok with it. CBR is kinda of a decade old design. I know its phenomenal in terms of reliability. But still old. So 250D it is. Thanks for the input bro. I will soon post my purchase here.Originally posted by strahl7 View Post1 - Well, the 250 is very happy at 60 - 80 you could put it in 6th and chill out and the engine will still have enough punch to overtake.

Re: 2017 Duke 250
are you sure it is from the radiator area? if so, you could maybe use double sided tape, 'rubber washer'(essentially a piece of tire tube cut and used as a washer) or these days you even get them rubber pads (https://amzn.to/2Q01s7N)Originally posted by Xothana View PostHi guys, tell me any solution or suggestions to get rid of the radiator plastic buzz sound on D250 pls. Tightening all screws didn't help
also try these.. fill up tank to at least 90% capacity and see if the buzz vanishes, and also try to put a bit of pressure with your finger on the tank cap while you ride and observe.
