Re: Yamaha Fazer 250 - Ownership Experience Thread
Bike is smoothening up with every ride. I am feeling the difference in its response, also noticed the rattling sound when I am between 4.5K to 5K RPM on every gear except 1st of course. This rattling sound is there since day one, it is coming from engine...and it's continuously there till I come back under 4.5K RPM. This sinks my heart every time, I checked oil level too n dipstick does show decent level. I hope it will go away after 1st service.Last edited by burnoutdee; 05-04-2019, 02:26 PM.

It will never go away as that sound comes from balancer gear. it's just how it is, there's nothing wrong with the bike. it doesn't eat performance or anything.Originally posted by burnoutdee View PostBike is smoothening up with every ride. What you saying?!! That's a bad surprise yaar.
Sound increases with RPM (not very much though) & it feels like engine is struggling but as you said bike goes on without any issue....

The engine is taken from xt250 which is a dual sport motorcycle, that bike also has same noise ( as i said its by design ) and some guys have managed more than 60-80k miles without any engine/ performance issues. it's a proven solid engine. and to be honest i actually like that rattle sound. combine that with roaring exhaust when i overtake others it feels amazingOriginally posted by burnoutdee View PostAs long as it doesn't hamper the performance n engine life. It's ok but not ok.

I can actually imagine what u saying about overtaking. But mine vibrates as well with rattling sound...the more I accelerate more it rattles n sounds as if am punishing the motor, don't wanna sound like am whining but it does feel like it's not how it should sound or vibrate. I am all in to accept the characteristic nuances of a bike but this has got to me. I will take it to service center once I get the registration number (Just now returned from the Ride n am numb because of it).Originally posted by slopegatri View PostThe engine is taken from xt250 which is a dual sport motorcycle, that bike also has same noise ( as i said its by design ) and some guys have managed more than 60-80k miles without any engine/ performance issues. it's a proven solid engine. and to be honest i actually like that rattle sound. combine that with roaring exhaust when i overtake others it feels amazing

Re: Yamaha Fazer 250 - Ownership Experience Thread
yeah, it will vibrate in 5-6k rpm range with rattling sound, above 6k rpm both the vibration and sound will ease out, your bike is new so wouldn't recommend going above 4-6k rpm band until 1000kms. my bike has done 7532km and those little vibrations around 5-6k are much less now than what it was when bike was new.Originally posted by burnoutdee View PostI can actually imagine what u saying about overtaking. just use it as it is until 1st service. if there's no improvement, get the valve clearance checked.Originally posted by burnoutdee View PostSounds good enough to me, I won't reach 5k RPM anymore. You reckon I should go to service center or let it be?!Fz25 2018 (ABS retrofitted)

Re: Yamaha Fazer 250 - Ownership Experience Thread
I received the registration number last night & took the bike to CFR Motors Yamaha service center opp. Sanpada Rly stn. There Service Manager Mr. Ghulam Khan took a test ride of my bike & tightened the tappet, also applied adhesive to screws under the lid of Timing Chain compartment, after that rattling noise have reduced by 75% & vibration is almost gone. I am super happy today for my bike's problem is kind of resolved & I have gained the confidence that by purchasing Yamaha I have not made a mistake. It was a great experience today at the service center, after the work Mr. Khan shared his number with me & asked me to report if there's any issue with the bike. Also, he advised to continue riding till 1000kms & he said he will help rectify whatever issue would be there. In fact, he also shared this issue with the service manager Mumbai on call in front of me.

Re: Yamaha Fazer 250 - Ownership Experience Thread
Completed 1000 Kms, got the 1st Service done today.
Charges -
Oil filter - 175
Chain cleaning & Lubrication - 200
Oil change - 710
Consumables - 50
Service experience was quite good, they allowed me to hover around while they were working on bike. Mechanic was quite patient n Service incharge listened to my feedback n he also gave suggestions about upkeep of motorcycle. They did not touch the tappet or anything too technical, just set the clutch a little loose. After service as expected bike was pretty smooth n am sure with more KMs it will become smoother. I am happy with the bike & happier with the Service at CFR Motors service center.
Additionally, i purchased extended warranty (3years) at 777/-, Yamalube chain lube & chain cleaner (both 400 ml cans) at 1000/-Last edited by burnoutdee; 05-31-2019, 12:08 AM.
