    Re: Yamaha R15 v3 ownership

    Hi guys,

Can you tell from which place and at what price did you buy it? Any freebies you received?
    Waiting period, etc.

    Thanks.

Requesting folks from Bangalore to chime in here. From my enquiry a couple of months back, no test ride bikes were available, though dealers did entertain booking amount for the same. Though delivery can take upto 5 to 10 days. The information is and was the status quo a couple of months back. Provided, dealers have a display piece, I'd strongly recommend you take a test drive before you dive in.

Absolutely no freebies, if my memory serves me right, though the mandatory helmet is provided with the bike as per RTO law. Bargain hard, and you probably might save yourself a couple of hundred bucks, but that's pretty much it.

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Just use kerosene for cleaning. If you want you can use lubrication spray from motul, otherwise ep oil is good to go.

i think most bikes with an open chain (i.e without chain guard) come with an O ring (or maybe X ring for bigger bikes).
you could simply take a closer look at the chain and you will see a rubber seal (which is the ring) on the links. both O and X will appear round but its the cross section that differs.
cleaning and lubing procedure/intervals are similar for both.. if you want to keep it economical, just clean with kerosene and apply EP90 gear oil.. the chain will last just as long with any other fancy spray. the key is regular clean and lubing between 500-1000km intervals depending on its condition.

              Congratz on your ride!

Read the manual for RPM cutoffs for specified Kilometers

Vary the throttle until the breakin is complete, dont run at constant RPM.

              Cycle through all gears.

Take it easy, dont get too excited.

Replace the engine oil and filter at 100kms (even if the manual doesnt tell you to do so)

              Enjoy the bike.

Ride smart, ride safe and more importantly Ride like a Symphony!

                      Re: Yamaha R15 v3 ownership

                      Today 2nd service done ..

and i am satisfied with the servicing they have done to my v3 ..
They check the whole system with their computers ..and there was showing all informations on the screen..

woah 😨 i have to say that v3 has some high tech level of system and sensors that monitors all the engine and electronic functions..
they connected the computer with the bikes ECU..

When dignosing ..they found some problem with Engine RPM .. which they solved by adjusting the timing chain thing.. and now there is nearly no vibrations at all..
and they also said milage will also increase now.... 😃

Only compain is that the polishing guy asked for 100rs tip.. but its ok.. 100 rs is no big deal...

and i also installed the Usb charger .. which only costs 750 rs ..and no extra charge 😃
and 2nd servicing costs was 774 rs.. oil change , oil filter change , chain cleaning and chain lubricating ..

                      YES YAMAHA...

If possible upload a copy of bill.
How is your bike front brakes performance in terms of initial bite ?

                          less service intervals then v2..

                          v3 service intervals
                          km- 1000 4000 7000 10000 13000

                          days- 30 120 210 300 390

                          v2 service intervals..
                          KM- 1000 3000 6000 9000 12000

                          Days- 30 100 170 240 310

And the front brakes are pretty good.. well its not good as ABS equipped bikes like RS.. but it has way far superior braking then any Other non ABS bikes.
And the bike handles pretty well when hard braking .. it does not loose control..

one can even apply brakes with one hand.. that much controll this bike has.

Why they charged you Rs. 20 for oil check-up and washing when it was a free service.
You can start cleaning and lubing chain your self that will be more cost effective.

service interval is longer than V2 which is great.

i dont know why they charged it .. but i think washing is not free ..

here some dealers charge for washing..
because i saw a poster in the showroom that there will be 1 week free washing as a part of 60 years celebration... between 1st to 7th july .. but they said it havent applied yet..

too much scams everywhere [emoji31] .

and yes i got same day delivery , as i mention in my original post.. i did not booked the bike at first and when the first batch of v3 came in my city at 13/3/18

3 were already sold out to the booking customers ..
and only 1 bike was left in showroom ..
i did not get the option to choose the colour [emoji22]

and i bought that last thunder grey bike in cash ...
as the 2nd batch was coming after 45days they said ..

i dont have a paddock stand .. so its very hard to do chain cleaning by myself ..

and stand are very expensive .. i might make a DIY paddock stand later..

yes at first i was confused between rs200 and v3 ...

but when i test rode the v3 myself ..man i felt like i was made for this bike ..it fits perfectly like a gloves ..as i am 21 years old college student and i only weight 58kg i am supper skinny 😅..
.lack of "ABS" didnt stopped me from getting this bike as the handling was super amazing ..

                                i also test rode the RS200 .. before ..
but it didnt impress me ..

but you can wait ..yamaha might launch ABS version in the end of 2018... when the Abs law will come to effect..

and trust me i test rode many bike before buying v3 .. and did many researches on the internet for days...

                                rs200 , fz250 and the duke 200 .. none of them impressed me like v3 did ..
