    Hello!

I have done fair amount of touring in last 6 months on my interceptor (Owned it for a year). I have a air compressor (connects to Battery / Car 12V port). Rear got punctured once. I asked for a stranger to led his 12V car port for my compressor! and Ta-Da, I had air to ride for a kilometer before I saw a puncture wala!. There was no chance I could leave my bike with all the luggage on it. Nor could I accomplish a Tyre job on my own!

Well, I was carrying a 5" gadget that saved me from getting stranded!

    Hello Everyone.

One year / 10K km Review.

I have NOT had a single break-down (Barring a puncture incident, which wasn't hassle because I was carrying a portable air-compressor).

I did oil change at 5K and changed to Motul 7100. The gear shift has gone very smooth and engine happy since. Of course change oil filter and an air filter.

Apart from that I have gotten the motorcycle serviced at precise intervals as specified in service manual (1000K, 5000K - Checkup, 10000K).

This time around, there was rusting on front break dist that I could not clean. RE has changed it for free. Got my bike back today. I did not pay a penny for my service. They checked Tappet setting, changed front disc (under warranty), fixed loose seat - a busing underneath went missing.

I had my reservations about quality of service I would get when I decided to buy Interceptor. However, all my reservations have proven wrong. Well, I know RE Service is shabby at places, but with me I have had no such experience (So Far). Staff is nice, friendly and they go beyond arms length to help me. I could not have asked for more!

They say No news is Good news. The thing is, my baby runs smooth, smiles when it does that! I am one happy Interceptor owner!

You can checkout the Rao Seats in Bangalore. It's quite famous for 2 wheeler seat works.

Re touring seat of gt can give say 10-15% more comfort from your current seat + nearly an inch less seat height. That doesn't sound good for spending 4500 buck IMO.

You can get much more for half the price if you choose custom, but only a well experienced hands can match the fit and finish of stock seat.

Even i had the same thought but worried if it didn't work well i ll have o buy a new seat so my plan to get single seat with cowl of GT and and if needed and air float seat for long rides and keep the stock seat for riding with pill buy chance.

Sahara provides custom seats, and there is Corbin seats, quiet expensive but you can make similar costume with your current seat.

Sorry i cant point you to a shop, but wait some will answer

Once something pierces the tyre and the tube, nothing can save it from getting punctured.

Well same happened to me as well , at least now you now how to fix it yourself. when RE RSA said they cant help i did remove tyre myself and got puncture fixed but i

couldn't fix it back i almost exhausted and i had to call mechanic later.

Well checking wont help getting puncture, but you wont stuck in the middle of the desert, i was stuck at 12.30 night, with a bunch of dogs staring at me..

    Re: Interceptor 650 Twin

Completed 8k kms until now with the 10k-service done with RE engine oil change, etc. The engine and gear shifts are smoother now. The front handlebar wobble around 80-100 kmph or so has popped up again after the front wheel assembly change done some 3-4k kms before this service on warranty. I still doubt the tyre to be the culprit as I always maintain the tyre pressure at 32-36 psi N2 and there should not be a wheel alignment/balancing issue as the front wheel assembly has been changed completely in warranty at around 4-5k kms. I feel the pirelli tyres are wobble free for around 4k kms and this wobble starts after these many kms are done on the tyre but who knows what it is! The service people just told me the problem is fixed and the tyre pressure was low but I surely know it is not the case. I am just fed-up on this issue as I surely know the service center has no definitive answer or solution to this problem but they accept INT 650s have this front handlebar wobble issue at certain speeds. Just wanted to know if the latest bikes got this issue fixed and if so how? Mine is a Jan-2019 manufactured one.

I have not done any mods until now and the bike is perfectly stock and I have encountered no other issues so far. I am fully satisfied on my purchase and I have decided this bike should stay with me. I had this issue of front tyre pressure getting decreased when the bike is idle for a few days and found that the tyre valve pin was rusted and leaking air slowly. I just got some new valve pins for free from the tyre shop and changed it and the leakage has stopped since then.

The service person on the latest service told me that my rear brake pads are about to wear out and needs replacement. I saw this Vesrah brake pads online made for INT 650 and have bought these. These are ceramic brake pads and are made in Japan. Any feedback on these, please?

[QUOTE=hiteshbhatia1996;1387765][QUOTE=intr650;1387738][QUOTE=hiteshbhatia1996;1387721]First post (and my first bike)!

1)- So you are not novice you know how to ride period.

2)- The color- Silver color looks cool, i was found of black rim so i booked baker express on Sep 2018, found orange crush also dam looking on Feb 19 ( the first

bike i saw in real) and took Ravishing red on march 2019 the fist batch of interceptor from my showroom

accessories, all are fancy except the seat IMO

3)- Sump Guard- unless you ride off road. it only makes cleaning really difficult IMO

4)- Engine crash guard - Still under research, i had 3 stand still fall, every time these parts hit on the road, handle bar, mirror, break pedal and silencer a large

crash guard may protect first three but not the silencer, but on higher speed well there are no data to prove its efficacy a part from completely

destroying chassis, look for any crashed RE with crash guard you ll see what am talking about. A small crash guard can protect engine block they

say, happens if you do off road .

5)- Touring mirrors- value for money no, fancy yes

6)- Tank guard pads- pad on silver specter i would say no, find something else

7)- good riding gloves that are 2XL size, jacket too if possible- post this on universal riding gear thread you ll get better result

    link- https://www.xbhp.com/talkies/univers...ar-thread.html

    enjoy

Thank you so much for your answer! I have booked the Interceptor 650 in Silver Spectre color from Lamba Enterprises, Rama Road, Delhi.

I'm 23 years old, male, 6 feet, very heavily built at 120 kgs (but I'm working on that now )

My experience with bikes is limited to rentals - the first time I rode a bike was in Mumbai when I rented an Avenger 220 it for one week, and then another scooty rented in Goa for a few days. I've been cycling since childhood, but once it came to college I bought a second hand i20 that I used sparingly. Been driving that car for a little over four years now.

Also, Lamba Enterprises does have my color in stock right now (surprisingly the 2020 BS6 is now very easily available for the silver trim - maybe I should change mine? I really like the Silver) but I have deferred it to the first week of March. They will probably give me this bike itself - but I'm waiting on my salary to put down the down payment for the loan.

Couldn't get enough of the bike, took a fourth test ride after the booking because why not

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Also, are the following accessories sufficient or should I get any more?

    a. Sump Guard
    b. Engine crash guard
    c. Touring mirrors
    d. Tank guard pads

And please do tell me where I can find good riding gloves that are 2XL size, jacket too if possible!!
Rynox has some nice jackets and gloves, you can look at them. Moreover check out the riding gear thread for it.
Are you getting discounts on the accessories? Because they give you 20% off on them, do enquire about that.
And i hope you're getting insurance done from outside to save some money
    P. S. Congratulations

    b. Was there a better choice for a cruiser in the price range?

Ans: You got no other bike in this price tag which can give the feel that your going to get with Interceptor

    c. I have been browsing this thread for a while, so I will follow the advice of riders far more experienced than me, but is the INT 650 too rough for a new rider?

Ans: Share your riding skill to answer this question properly, these are in general

1- If you have experience with geared motorcycle, it may take a week or two to getting used to the weight.

2- A person with gear-less bike skill (like me), 2-3 days to figure out all the gears and may be 1 or 2 week to balance with the weight, mean time always park on a

flat spot otherwise you may need someone else to pull.

    Interceptor specific issues:

foot peg - couple of time stuck in b2b then you ll figure out what to do

seat cushion - either you change it or your bottom will get used to

handle bar reach - this one is rider choice there are aftermarket fitting for your choice
