I myself ride a Honda unicorn. On my bike when I shift into 1st or 2nd gear, the usual shifting sound( I mean the gears locking, that tuck sound ) is not that heavy. But I can make a heavy sound if I rev up my engine to say 5k rpm or something higher and then shift into 1st or 2nd gear. But on the sf250 even at lower rpms during an up shift that tuck sound is a bit heavy. I’m not sure if it’s a 250cc thing or whether it’s normal. I don’t have much experience in this segment bikes so if somebody could shine some light on this. It would be really helpful.

If someone could explain their experience while shifting into 1st and 2nd gear. It would be great. I’m feeling a difference with a normal bike only for these 2 gears. From 3rd onwards I don’t hear that heavy shifting sound and it’s very soft.

    Thank you guys.
Check if your clutch is set properly, the cables are not too loose. Also, as neutral is between 1st and 2nd , the gear play is more than that between other gears. 1st gear is more tourqy and hence you won't have to rev it upto 5k always. At that RPM, it will make noise from 1st to 2nd as 2nd gear catches up with the torque. Instead of pushing to 5k on 1st gear, try shifting around 3.5 to 4k on 1st gear and that too by a gentle push on the lever, not too hard, but good enough to avoid false neutral.
If you still face the same noise, take it to SVC as there can be issues with clutch or gear box.

Wow that is indeed a irresistible offer. Can you share what is the original on road price in Gurugram. Because as per your message it is -1.51+0.43=1.94L. If that so it is very low compared to here (Andhra Pradesh) @ 2.07 L on road

              Re: Suzuki Gixxer SF250

Only cons of gixxer sf 250:
              1. Low wind protection after speeds above
              90kmph.
              Needs visor modification.
              2. Bike feels very calm even while cruising at 120
kmph( because of very silent exhaust).
Rider doesn't feel that he is travelling at a
              speed of 120kmph.

              Overview:
Planning to install rr310 stock visor for wind
              protection.
Also planning to install two brothers slip on
              exhaust.

Any thoughts about this guys?any advice?

May be that calmness is what makes the long distance tours less tiring. Windscreen update is must if we have to cruise above 80 kmph. I've seen in youtube, people fixing RR310 amd Ninja 300 visors.
Regarding exhaust, if it won't damage engine, it should be okay, but be sure to install DB killers to keep it below 80DB. Anything more than that can be quite disturbing to the people and ourselves and also is illegal. Please make sure it won't be something like the red roosters and other open exhausts that make the sound unbearable. Consider Akrapovic also. This has some good reputation.
Please do share the tips once you install them.
                Cheers

The issue is not local. Even I am facing the same trouble in my 250 Gixxie. SVC people are Clueless, adjusted clutch play but still the same issue. Gears 1, N, 2 are all too clunky.
                      No matter how you shift.
The only work around I do is that I shift to 1st gear and then start the bike. It is really annoying.

I also have one more question, not related to this one. Can anyone confirm of SF and naked have same size rear sprocket?

                      Thanks

                          Hello SF250 Forum,

I'm actually planning to have the Dominar 400 but yet I'm just worried about the pricing which is expensive over 35K. And hence, I'm also looking for Gixxer SF250.

Can someone please clarify my doubts?

                          1) How the refinement is?

                          2) What the mileage could be?

                          3) Service costs?

                          4) City usability?

I'm more often going to use the bike in city and highway runs are going to be pretty less and I'm planning something big in the next 3 or 4 years. Is it going to be better if I have the Gixxer or should I buy the Dominar?

PS: Gixxer SF 250 Owners please have some experiences shared on the forum.

                            Hi,

Do the Gixxer 250 /SF250 come with a 5 year standard warranty?
Some of the websites suggest its a 5 year standard warranty. The official online brochure however says 5 years, but mentions "including 3 years optional" , which suggests 2 years is standard warranty.

                            What is to be believed?
In case of the optional 3 years warranty , what is the price?

                            Thanks.

                              1. The refinement is very good just as you expect from a japanese make
                              2. Average it gives 35 kmpl, Rash riding-32 kmpl, cruising @90-100kmph- 38 kmpl, cruising at 75 kmph- 42kmpl
                              3. First service cost around 1000 Rs (If you use ecstar engine oil), so we can assume paid service will cost 1500-2000Rs
                              4. Absolutely nimble, no heating issues, slightly leaned posture. Pillion wont feel comfortable.

If it is more of city use go for SF 250 other wise Dominar makes sense. Considering your requirement of more city use, I would recommend Giixer 250 than SF 250 as it makes more sense.

From my last 2100 km use of Gixxer SF 250, I would say this fits your purpose. Only things tou might miss on gixxer from dominar is a few BHPs. For Highways and Rural roads, Gixxer SF just does the job better. In cities, I believe Gixxer SF 250 or Gixxer 250 will be better because of it's lower weight than Dominar. Also, it's just a matter of getting used to the riding posture and being aware of the rear view mirrors position while driving througj traffic.

From mileage perspective, it should be somewhere between 30 to 40 kmpl, depending on your riding style, roads and traffic.

Couple of weeks ago, I rode the bike to come back home from Hyderabad to Kerala, for about 1200 kms in around 30 hours. Never felt any tiredness till 800kms. Post 800kms, all three of us were having our butts numb, and tiredness due to wind blast, irrespective of the bikes we rode. Even after reaching home, only thing that tired was the lack of sleep and never had any body pain or back pain. Gixxer seats can take you thousands of kms with proper sleep.
