    Need some help here!
    My Apache rtr 180's rear brake is not giving much feedback at speeds.
    I tried to put the bike on main stand and rotate the rear wheel, it is not free and is stopping rotation at almost similar spots.
    The break oil is also upto level.
    The local mechanic says the MC kit has to be changed.
    Please tell me what to do, and if the MC kit has to be replaced then how much will it cost?

    Basically engine braking works when the engine rpm is high and speed is low. And yes, it is harmful for the engine, when you downshift at high speeds. So always start braking, in the same gear (don't hold the clutch lever),and when the rpm reaches around 4k-4.5k, rev match and downshift. It is very important to rev match, because the rear wheel may lock up if the speed is too low, and engine rpm is high in the said gear.

    Hi guys. Need some clarification on the engine braking..

    Riding under extreme rain become a nightmare. Emergency braking, poth holes etc. make it more complex. I couldn't depend only on the brakes as they were not reacting as they meant to be. So i started depending on the engine braking as well. Usually i apply the brakes first and downshift the gears when am ready to accelerate again. Is it bad for the engine to downshift at high speeds? Please advice.

    Got the bike last Friday.. handling is exceptional and sharp.. costs me 6k including replacement of swing arm bush, rear disc plate and front corn set.. Braking has improved a lot..

    Bad luck can sometimes happen in the form of chase bend... I met with an accident around 9 months back.. Since then noticed something wrong with the handle.. But couldn't identify it.. Last week the swing arm bush has been broken.. i handover the bike to my friend who is an awesome mechanic for sevice and replacement of swing arm bush.. He noticed some alignment difference and he was right the chase is a little bend.[emoji17].. So have to remove the entire things and the bike looks like this now..

    Upgraded to masseters, 120/80 Rear & 100/80 Front. Lets see how they work out.

    How about puncture resistance of masseter's? and also if possible how long did they last for you?
    Oh man.. i ask for so many tyre people that 100 will fit on the front. They all disappointed me.. If i knew that earlier i would have tried it.[emoji17] .. Hows 100 on the front??

    I changed rear tyres at 22k kms as i had a 1400 kms ride on coming days.. it should have lasts for 23k kms easily.. got 3 times punctured.. all punctures are due to nails and hard stuffs like that.

    Unless you plan to ride on track everyday, the factory suspension setup is totally fine. I find front too soft and it dives under normal braking. This isnt which bothers me for commuting or touring.

    Checkout new RTR 200 Race Verison too.

    Guys, I am going to buy a bike soon, was thinking of RTR 180 ABS- everything seems positive but reviews say that at higher speeds, cornering is affected due to soft rear suspension, is it so & is it is, have you been able to correct it by setting rear suspension to stiffer settings?

    Hello guys, have anyone thought about swaping the engine head with the new 4valve engine head from the apache 1604v or 2004v? Is it possible to do that? Like it's pretty much the same engine. I'm guessing it is possible to swap it with 1604v's head. Maybe it'll increase the performance and mileage too. The 1604v seems to be returning a very good mileage of 56kmpl on highways according to zigwheels test.

    Find a good mechanical to get it done.....you gotta remove tank for easy accessibility...

    If masseter is not available go for revz. Its also good. Many people suggested the same front size to me. But couldn't find tyre 90/80-17.. so went with 90/90-17.. 90/80-17 will fit perfectly..

    Regarding the bite.. i think you are right.. it worn off completely..

    Thanks, The Maseteers are not available in stock sizes for Apache 180. Rear is a size up 120/80-17 and front is a size down 90/80-17. Are you sure the front is direct fit?

    Have you changed your discs yet? If the discs are grooved/worn enough then the brake pads wont be able to provide proper bite as the area of contact reduces. Please change the discs and check.

    After 55000 kms and 2.8 years my battery gave up.. bike is still awesome.. mid range is mad.. replaced the chain with o ring chain and sporkset.. Engine become more smoother as am using motul now.. However have some pulling issues while riding with pillion.. hope its due to heavy rain riding for the last 1 month.. Never spent any penny other than oil change, filter change, tyres, pads and chain. Am daily commuting 80 kms at least at 70 to 80 kmph. Still giving me 40,41 sometimes even 42 kmpl.
