  • so kerosene is a good alternative, or WD-40 if you dont get any... But chain lube being expensive, is also the best solution.

        • @itzli - i get the chain washed with kerosene or petrol every 1000 kms or so, and then spray wash it with water. Then compressed air to remove excess water/petrol.

Then chain clean, and then chain lube.

Meanwhile every 300 kms, i do chain clean and chain lube spray only. ( both on R15 and ninja ) Motul.

          • I simply get the chain treatment done every 1000 kms in one of the Castrol Bike zones. They clean the chain with diesel and then dip it in molten grease and wait till it cools down and hardens up. Costs me Rs.60 each time.

This method is not possible for O-ring chains. But mine is not an O-ring chain anyway. And I don't own a Ninja either.

            • For all the gearheads with a Ninja, changing the sprocket and chain setup.

Gearing Commander: Motorcycle Gear Ratio Calculator for Sprockets RPM Speed Chain

              Top speed if we have a 16/42 setup on a ninja ..... 211.9 Km/h
(two ton mark on a 250 can we? can we?)

Can someone shed some light on the this?

              • ^^ with nos and an extensive weight reduction, maybe... i think the fastest a stock ninja has done with a tuned exhaust and some minor work to the intake is about 185.

                            • My Ninja is here

                              Bhai Loga,

Finally...finally...I received my stunning Lime Green Kawasaki Ninja 250R from Bagga Links @ Karol Bagh. This memorable day was February 17, 2010.

Out in the sun...the bike looked far more awesome than while standing inside the Baja Probiking showroom @ Basantlok, PVR Priya complex.

And then the first ride...all of 51 kms...was unbelievable!!! The amount of attention I was receiving was astonishing and then when I stopped by my office @ DLF Cyber Greens to share my joy with my team mates - the reactions were plain heart stopping !!!

So...yes...it has happened. The first bike ever that I have purchased myself is the Ninja 250R. Thank you good Lord for your kindness. I haven't seen a more beautiful bike ever
