I have done 1400 kms and yes my Accent and Swift are rusting

I think tenhunt and bluevolt will be the leaders
Mine is close to 3000 in 19 days ...Should be 6000 by May2. Going on a trip to Kerala..My bullet is getting rusted too..But i take her out on special occasions nowadays

Well Just came back froma 850 kms round trip to Malwan/Tarkarli. his trip included many a remote place too but i guess unless u bump the bike somwhere the bike should hold its own. THe route was Pune>Satara>Kolhapur>Gaganbawda>Kankavali>Malvan. On the way forward(between Pune and Kolhapur only) was riding her at 100-120s and occasional breaches of 140. Should say the bike is steady on that speeds and a slight touch of ur front brake brings the speed down drastically. The confidence on the brakes is really inspiring though am still getting used to the adequate pressure on the rear bcos it "slided" on a couple of occasions. The roads from Kolhapur to Gaganbawda is patchy and bumpy at the initial stretch but made it up with some awesome ghats

Riding on the bumpy roads is a little bit of a pain on the bike as am used to the comfort of the enfield. But the bike holds its fort, must say.
On the return trip (again only on the same stretch) was cruising at speeds of 120-140 with occasional breaches of 150.

And moreover it was a completely incident free trip!!

      • Hi Guys: Any advice on the slip on for the 250r?

        Yoshimura?
        Two brothers?
        Akrapovic?
        Area P?
        Hot Bodies Growler?

Pls advice on the best one considering power, sound, looks & price. Thanks

Will the bikes warranty be affected with the aftermarket slip on, also will the engine get fcuked after slip on...(experienced guys...tenhut...bluevolt pls help with this)

        • @Chiragh: Posting your query on the relevant thread (the R15 ownership thread, in this case) would yield you better results.

hey even i am interested getting one but its better to get a full exhaust then slip on as you gain an 1.5 bhp and as a full exhaust u could get upto 4bhp.

i found yoshimura has full exhaust, it sounds good and looks good too.
but i like is a akrapovic exhaust but it comes only as slip on and pricing for akrapovic is 33k !! its a bit expensive of all. then i thought putting up a yoshimura titanium exhaust pipe end with a akrapovic for max gain of bhp and plus a filter

still working out the budget for this whole upgrade!

              dude akrapovic is $455 = Rs. 20,000..shipping should be $50 = Rs. 2,200
& duty should be maximum Rs. 3000..so total cost should not exceed Rs. 25,000/=

being jus a slip on, thinking of adding exhaust pipe from yoshimura or full exhaust from yoshimura($599) minus akrapovic

                  • [QUOTE=n_aditya;411208]If i remember correctly, it was mentioned in a few posts that bajaj was sellin the bullet cover for around 900 bucks. Now if this is a genuine Kawasaki product, it makes sense to buy one. Why dont you see both and decide before buying? QUOTE]

I have bought cover for my ninja from PBK. This cover does not snug fit the Ninja, however it just covers it. This cover is more for camouflaging the Ninja from general public. My Ninja is parked in the open parking in my society. At ~11 pm some few guys, abruptly opened the cover from the front end, so that they could see the ninja. As, the cover is locked at the bottom, it has given way and there is a big gaping hole in the cover at the bottom. I do not have any grudges against these few brave men who did this. I was in the impression that the amm janta will get used to see the ninja and I do not have to think more on securing it. But now, I have decided to get a Xena alarm and if that does not help maybe get a surveillance camera from Godrej Security solution setup in the parking lot. If these people had some courtesy they would have put the cover back. They just left it half open. I have to check my Ninja in the morning if they have scratched / vandalized it. Sorry, for the long comment.. I feel sorry for the people who did this .. still long way for general public to get there .. what things they should do / not do.

                    • i got the bullet cover from jc road at 200 bucks, it covers the body except leaving small area of bottom of the fairing exposed. ( so you can see some green color )

i'm just using for dust protection, on the very first day of usage the cover was left half open by someone in the aptmt, but i feel that's part and parcel of buying green; ( nothing against black owners but just that the black camouflages itself very well, and green just brings in all these troubles ).

one query to all those who have finished 1600 @ ODO -
during break-in, Is it advised to run the bike for some time in each gear i.e. i don't just throttle and up shift till i reach 6th keeping under 4k/gear, but i tend to drive for sometime in each gear except 1st & 2nd and then upshift.

i read somewhere you shouldn't be driving in single gear for long ( but it doesn't tell how long ) ... and secondly once you have an empty stretch do you just keep changing between 5th & 6th or should you give each gear some massage or did you guys just drove it in 6th.

+1 to that. I love that Brighton exhaust and tried contacting Sean over FB but no response. Left a msg for him at you-tube too.

I'm gonna give it a year or two for any exhaust mod's however tempting it may be.

P.S. Also check out juice boxes / power commanders. They are available for the ninja and go well with a full system. Comparitively they are cheaper than the full systems.

Cool... went to the same spots in 2008 trip on my pulsar. The gaganbavda route sucks.. so now I prefer going via Nippani - Sawantwadi and then Malvan. Same route I take for Goa as well.
