You are right. HH SVC in free or paid service just oils chain.

We asked it to be done this way and paid up for all the labor. these are additional expenses.This is pain staking process. Actually if possible, one should remove front sprocket cover as well. see the filth there. and do the same process.

What is WD 40?? Is it oil to lubricate or spray to clean the chain??

WD-40 fulfills five basic functions:

2. PENETRATES: WD-40 loosens rust-to-metal bonds and frees stuck, frozen or rusted metal parts.

3. PROTECTS: WD-40 protects metal surfaces with corrosion-resistant ingredients to shield against moisture and other corrosive elements.

Will ride to "KOLHAPUR - The City of Goddess Mahalaxmi" on my rejuvenated Red Hottie ZMR today i.e. on 16th Dec 2010.

Things need to keep ready before ride :

1). My ZMR in perfect condition : As on monday i changed its engine oil, cleaned its chain perfectly yesterday, installed Osram Night Breaker on monday, Clutch Setting done yesterday, Nitrogen checked in tyres before leaving.

2) Most Important :- Bike Documents : License, RC Card, PUC certificate, Insurance Papers.

3). For Safe Riding and get rid of Cold :- As the temp is consistently falling down and for safe riding well equipped with Riding Jacket, Gloves, Helmet.

4). First Aid Kit and some medicine to fight against cold.

Travelling Plan :- Route : Mumbai - Pune - Satara - Kolhapur

Total Distance :- Approx. 470 km one way.



Now Fully equipped with necessary things and information, ready to ride ZMR. GET SET GOOOOOOOOO.

Idle Process for Chain Cleaning

Got My ZMR Chain properly cleaned yesterday at Road X Service Centre, Andheri East.

Chain cleaning is not a part of free servicing, as i stood there till whole process is done, examine whole process and got work done properly from the Service Guy, You need to instruct and asked the service guy to do the things.Just need to apply some pressure on service guy to do proper work.
Rs. 35 for this hectic process is not at all a big deal as it definitely improve the performance of the bike.

Idle Process for Chain Cleaning :

a). Remove Chain cover and front sprockets as well.
b). Clean the chain with Diesel or petrol whichever available.
c). Clean the Chain cover and Front Sprockets with Diesel too to
remove the dust and soil stucked in them.
c). Wash the Chain, chain cover and front sprockets with pressure water cleanly.
d). Spray WD 40 on whole chain perfectly. You need to carry WD
40 on your own.
e). Oil the chain properly, usually Service guy take shortcut here, ask him to oil it properly and leave it as is for 5 min till excess oil get out of chain.
f). Put the Front sprockets and Chain cover back, ask the service guy to adjust the chain and you are done with chain cleaning and ready to experience the smooth and free flow ride.
