yes, this has DC electricals. I have this bike, infact in green color. This bike is good for day to day travel. Highly efficient, but lacks power.

Prior to Discover 100, I had gen-1 P180DTSi. So I am sure you guys would know what it would be to drive a sub-100cc after driving a P180cc bike.

@Mods: Can you merge this thread with Bajaj Discover(all version) in this same ownership thread experience ? why i posted this coz discover 100cc is also falls under the thread i mentioned.

@Thunder: can you tell me what tire make this steed has ?

The bike Gives a Shear 75-85kmpl on normal Riding conditions with Ride Control "ON"......
It returns some 70mpl on normal riding conditions with Ride COntrol "OFF"

In Highways it gives nearby 60KMPL with Ride Control OFF and ripping it fully.......

Just give that bike to me, I can extract much more than that from it. Dude, the ride control switch does not have any effect on mileage. It doesn't matter whether the switch is on or off. The switch when on, is only used to indicate that a rider is opening more throttle than normal. This is indicated with a small click sound and a bit of resistance in the throttle.

                              Bajaj Discover 100cc ownership review

                              Hi all,
I bought a Disocver 100cc in November 2009 and have clocked 22K till date on the odometer, Prior to that I have used the Boxer AT & Victor GX.

Things I like in this bike
                              1. The Big bike feel (longest wheelbase)
                              2. Lengthy Seats (scores well in Comfort)
                              3. Best suited 100cc bike for the highway
                              4. Amazing ability to stick on to high speeds (above 90kmph) for hours together (I guess this is the fastest 100cc in market as of now)
                              5. Soft & Lengthy Suspension
                              6. Best in class electricals (especially headlight brightness and design)

                              Things I hate
                              1. Weldings in the chassis and the saree guard are too poor in quality and will rust faster than any bicycle welds/rims
                              2. Mileage fully dependant on the rider+riding style+road condition
                              3. This bike can give a mileage of just 35kmpl (at top speeds) and for soft users it can give a maximum of 75kmpl
                              4. Brakes are poor (especially the rear brake shoes last for a very short while)
                              5. Power to weight ratio is less compared to passion pro/ splendour (dry weight is 115Kgs!)
                              6. Poor Pick up (0 - 60 timing is so bad, dont feel like comparing it with any of its competitors)
                              7. Due to its weight, the chain loosens much faster than any other 100cc & also not to mention the chain locks needs to be replaced almost every 10000 kms
                              8. During long drives, if u have a pillion (approx 80kgs) the bike will take a decade to reach 80kmph! I am serious about this, once the engine is heated, do not expect any pick up in doubles
                              9. Horrible fuel indicator, when you are forced to use the reserve switch, do not assume that it has 2ltrs of fuel left in it. This bike can run in the Fuel On position even with just 1.3ltrs of petrol in tank.

I have ridden this bike on highway (at full throttle 90kmph+ speeds) for hours together. I have done long drives every now and then 603kms (Blr - Harihar), 426kms (Blr - Chitradurga), 300kms (Blr - Mysore atleast five times), Nandi Hills - 140kms, Vellore (540kms) and so on.

This is a bike that can take this kind of abuse (non stop riding at 90kmph+ for hours together on Indian highways)

For a single rider I am sure this is enough, but this bike badly needs the following

                              1. Disc brake for front wheels
                              2. Better quality weldings (in chassis)
                              3. Bigger rear drum brakes
                              4. Slightly Lower foot rests for the rider
                              5. Improved Accuracy of the Fuel meter

Do share your experiences here of this bike....
