re: Bajaj Discover Ownership Thread
Check for the performance of the bike, I mean the pickup. This should be at par with a new bike. Check for the mileage, This is a key indicator of the health of the engine. Keep a dab on the engine oil consumption. This should suffice to check the health of the engine.Originally posted by benryu View PostSrinivas

Which Oil are you talking about? Engine oil or PetrolOriginally posted by benryu View PostOk will keep a note. I think i get the same 60kmpl. Oil alone let me keep track. What is the ideal oil consumption amount.
For petrol: Mine delivers 70+ in hyderabad traffic and has a lot to don with the traffic in your city, your driving habits and also the pressure in your tyres.
As for the engine oil, there should be no or very little oil consumption.

Tyres worn out at 35k? By the way are they the stock tyres that came with the vehicle? Mine has run for 43K and the tyres are in good condition and may run for 15k more. By the way I also check the air weekly. When are you planning to change the tyres? How was your experience with the stock tyres that came with the bike (CEAT in my case). Please keep us posted about the new developments about your bike.Originally posted by benryu View PostI'm talking about the engine oil.
My tyres are worn out and i check the pressure every week. Set at 25 and 35. It reduces to around 21-22 and 31-32 for about 250km run during the weekSrinivas

I exactly don't know how to determine if a tyre is worn out but it depends on the tread and watch for symptoms like breaking distance. If you find that the vehicle is slipping or break distance increasing then it is time for a tyre change.Originally posted by benryu View PostYes using stock tyres but i dont know what brand. Dont think its CEAT. How exactly can you determine if the tyre has become weak?Srinivas

re: Bajaj Discover Ownership Thread
From what I can see a decrease of 3 to 4 psi in a week is OK. Mine also decreases by 30 to 4 psi every week.Originally posted by benryu View PostNo slipping and breaking distance seems ok. Only issue is that tyre pressure reduces very quickly.Srinivas
