about the rd, the air-cooling was about adequate for the indian tunes, about 30hp max on paper, i guess they would be putting out less than 25hp in real life, what with all the jugaad and delhi parts used in them. i used to ride my rd in peak bombay summer in rush hour traffic (of course not as hot as up north or elsewhere) and while it would get really hot, i never felt it overheated. other rds may not be so lucky since many people have them tuned really lean for max fuel economy.

I dunno man, it's still confusing to me. if what you're saying is correct, all you need to do is get the engine really hot and then even on short runs, it should run smooth. and there isn't much of a difference in airflow and cooling whether it's a short run or long. so it should be more or less the same. and i've never noticed a difference with my fi whether i ride it slow or fast. i usually ride fast. and i did say i noticed a slight drop in power when the engine is really hot. not the other way around. so in my case, for the first 10-15km the bike puts out much more power than later when its really hot. maybe riding style has something to do with it too.Originally posted by nox2505 View Post

renny, you do realise that the rtr has peak torque around 6k and peak hp around 8.5k rpms. revving it beyond that to redline is not going to do you much good and will greatly reduce engine life. especially in the first few gears. this is important if you plan to keep the bike for more than 2-3 years. otherwise, enjoy your revving! any idea how this has solved the missing/jerking/vibrating tacho needle issues ?Originally posted by rennycornelius View Post

ya revving the hell out specially in first two gears wasnt my idea too,and i did it after a long time.......Originally posted by julianpaul View Postrenny, you do realise that the rtr has peak torque around 6k and peak hp around 8.5k rpms. revving it beyond that to redline is not going to do you much good and will greatly reduce engine life. especially in the first few gears. this is important if you plan to keep the bike for more than 2-3 years. otherwise, enjoy your revving! any idea how this has solved the missing/jerking/vibrating tacho needle issues ?
but looking at the tacho goin right upto whr it ends gives me super kick....much more than the rarest of drugs......
but still the engine has a pull upto 10500RPM after which power trail's off....which is a good 2000RPM 'over' the peak run....
tht's mystry to me to....cuz during my run it tht is of 1000kms i never took it beyond 4000-4500 so i never new bout the violent shakin issues and the first day i revved it the tacho needle scared me........
but after 8-10kms of this hammering hard ride of mine the tacho became smooth.....
may be it's in love with it's 9000-12000RPM zones!!!!!!!!!!Last edited by rennycornelius; 05-11-2009, 09:21 PM.The Magician"

Hey Guys,
This is my experience of my apache
3500 Km done
Awesome package, worth 65 k (RTR RDs in Delhi are On road for 65,500 )
Well, first 1000 Km (990 in my case) were very hard times, it was really tough to maintain below 60, when u got something that can Hit 3 digit figures easily
Though i Ripped it earlier than my 2nd service, at around 990 Km (You know, its hard to resist when you are always going on a 23 Km Highway)
Earlier i was opting for a FZ, but since dad didnt allowed to go for more than 65, i opted for it after searching through motorcycle experiences in forums, am really happy tht i chose this bike
So, now coming back to my experience, it was superb always as far as power is concerned (for a 160 cc bike), i did faced a few probs,
Rear tyre isnt as good as it should be, i skidded many times at turns, bad roads and all..
my digi speedo console got replaced once (false readings, and Tacho's needle once did a complete 360, after that the needle would idle at like between 12000 mark and 0 mark, for a good point, at 3k RPM i would be at 70 Kmph), i had same prob again after replacement, but it corrected automatically when i restarted engine (maybe after a while, it may error and will be replaced)... as for fuel gauge, never trust it, i just use it for an idea
For a good thing, i clocked 134 on my bike, and 0-60 at 4.2 sec (considering my weight : 47 kgs, and no, im nt a kid, am 20 yrs) though at 134, my bike started kind of fishtailing at tht speed
Thats all probs i faced till 35xx Km, considering this apart, superb bike, awesome performance, I really like ridin this machine, Exhaust note is really diff. from other bikes and i really love it..
SLOWPOKE!!

Thats what my Speedo showed..
Well, i already mentioned, am 47 Kgs (Seriously Underweight), tht means not much load on bike (as far as my thinking goes) maybe that helped me to clock tht much.. my friend (68 Kgs) clocked 128 on my bike, i dont know abt how accurate speedometers are, but thts wht speedo showedSLOWPOKE!!

take out the old oil filter all you'll be loosing is about 100-150ml of oil...Originally posted by psycho28 View Postok, need a suggestion here........now i changed my engine oil, but forgot to change the oil filter, now i need to change it, how will i do so ?

"dont" drain the whole oil and refill it...
put the new one in and run the engine for 5 mins...thn check the level of oil...
top it up with prefrebly same brand with same rating (here 20w40) and check the level again....The Magician"

Hey I am like you though a lil more heavier (50-51Originally posted by Freakout4321 View PostHey Guys,

) and the 1st time I touched 100 on my bike, the front end started swerving around, wobbling kinna, but not so severe as to loose control.I barely noticed it as I had to keep my eyes on the road and was excited bout doing my 1st ton on my new bike but as soon as I noticed it I slowed down. Its kinna wierd because it never happened to me on other bikes at speed (cbz,p200). Though there was a some breeze blowing. Is the RTR lighter in front ? I have to hold the clip ons hard and straight and focus on it while doing ton up speeds.
