No comments on this bro.......it will only lead to an arguement! Even i want my bike to be treated well. But the senario at any SVC is quiet diff and we always cannot expect THE best/perfect service for our bikes and have to compromise no matter wat!

Why do u compare R1 to RTR?

Do R1's come in hordes to the SVC for service?

Take your bike to any service centre(good major ones) when the relativly have less or rather no bikes to service.....i bet ur bike will have it best service of its life.

Problem is they get lots of bikes a day and with their limited infrastructure and man power are supposed to deliver th bike on the same very day. If not customers cry foul!
Well, my TVS ASC also gets hordes of bikes too. Previously they used to just turn customers away... only the 1st few dozen bikes used to be accepted. It of course led to lot of flak from customers. Later they shifted to a bigger place. As of now, it seems they don't refuse to take vehicles, but if they are really full, they will say you will get delivery after 2 - 3 days. I even heard the supervisor telling someone not to refuse to take any vehicle... just tell the customer he will get the bike after x days.

Having too many vehicles to attend to is no excuse. In fact there is no excuse for mediocrity. If anybody wants mediocrity he will find all kinds of excuses.

Got my Shogun back in the evening. They said they replaced the gear shaft seal again. Bike nicely washed again. Bill was Rs. 13/-

Intrestingly these guys seem to use Motul 20W40 from barrels... instead of TVS Tru 4t. Saw several barrels there. Though they sell TVS Tru 4t individual cans too.

The barrels cost them much less than filling from cans. Which is why some lame ass svc insist that you hav to get oil replaced during the service and some refuse if you bring your own oil. the 1-litre oil they fill in your bike is probably their biggest source of income especially for the 'free' services.

      • Yes, obviously. But this ASC seems to have both - barrels and sealed bottles... which is a win-win situation as I guess customer can choose.

I'm assuming this as I saw dozens of Motul barrels and also Tru 4t bottles. Never filled oil from them though... I prefer to do it myself, about once a year.

As for the free services... they get reimbursement from the company. So I don't think it matters to them whether free or paid.

        • Hi people!

One of my friends is supposed to buy the RTR-Fi (orange colour) this week. The showroom guys have told him that all Fi models come in with the odometer clocked at around 120-150km. Is this true? However the non Fi versions are clocked at around 20km only. Upon asking, they're simply saying that this is the way it is. What should my friend do? Go for it? Have you guys faced the same problem?
          Hoping for a reply,
          Cheers!

          • Strange... why don't you check with other showrooms (& which showroom are you talking about)? Also consider calling up TVS regional office... I have always found them to be v responsive.

Strange thing is, if the dealers want to use the bike they can just disconnect the cable... so maybe these are really delivered with 150 km done from the company?

None of the bikes come with so much of ODO reading they must be giving test rides on that bike without noticing the ODO to be removed if you hace another showroom in your city buy from there dont buy from the particular dealership. My friend bought a RTR DD on 21st the ODO reading was 0.2 kms.
Never upgrade without getting your basics RIGHT.

Not true. I purchased mine exactly a month ago, and it had 4km on the odo at the time of purchase.

They have to keep the bottles in case a customer decides to buy a litre to take with him. they can't resell the stuff from the barrells.

but with oil in the free service, the reimbursement from the company is a fixed amount for the service itself. on the oil they get a huge profit direct from the customer.

just gave my bike a few hours ago to ashwini thane for the 4th service. i told him not to change the oil coz i wanted to change it myself for a synth. they refused saying the have to change the oil. and i dont have enough faith in them to give the bottle and trust they'll actually use it in my bike. guess i'll just have to bear the double cost of the company oil and the synth after i get the bike back.

Good. The company oil would function as the flushing oil for you, before u pour in the Synthetic
When everything comes ur way, u r in the wrong way ;)

hmmnn...when i had changed to synth about like 1500 km ago, this was just before my servicing. I told the SS not to change the oil and they didnt ...i guess u gotta push some or go to a different SS.
