TVS is quick in settling warranty issues as compared to other manufacturers. There are many who are as lucky as Satish's as they know how to deal with the situation and actually know which parts should be taken into consideration for warranty.I know many owners who have changed shock absorbers, electric starter unit and what not!!
hehehe.....i was amazed to see the amount of warrenty goods they send back to the company every month......one of the supervisor is a good friend of mine now.......most of the he spends only for the warrenties...!

Ur rear shock was changed under goodwil warrenty. It was from Arun's tab

Every supervisor is entitled 3-5 goodwill warrenty items per month. and he can give it any customer he wants! But obviously he will give to the customer only he likes.

Then you may be able to get all kinds of stuff changed...

And I'v found TVS good in that respect. I had gotten LOTS of parts changed in my Shogun... In fact they were ready to change whatever I wanted changed. But that was years ago... don't know if they are still that customer centric now.
I've been real busy lately with my pending trip and stuff and haven't been able to do anything about the bike. I did speak to the dealer though and he asked the svc guy to get a replacement wire, and they later called me and said come and get it. Didn't really wanna escalate based on this issue, it seems trivial to do so over a little bit of wire. But i will write to tvs about amending their warranty to include electrical wiring in the warranted items.

and it is true that it depends on the person seeing to the warranty claims, problem is there is only one svc in the whole of new bombay, and the svc manager is a total idiot, which is a major pain in the backside.

hmm, come to think of it, when i had first taken the bike to chk out the tappet noise, the dumbass mech tightened them so much that the bike was running like a dead splendor. and there was still no reduction in the noise. so i don't think any amount of setting in the normal range is gonna make much of a diff wrt noise.

update: warranty. i did a brief survey and found that other manufacturers (bajaj, suzuki) do cover things like the tailight and other parts which tvs doesn't in warranty. i'm talking about officially, not goodwill or anything.

          .
my mech was too insisting to keep it tht way as he was not in favour of tightning them a bit.......but mine has stopped knocking so i think i'll extend my 'khujli' then.........

          • Hey buddies chk it out:
I removed inner air filter element of my RTR, retuned the carb, replaced engine oil added by dealer with castrol power1 and got 0-60 in 4.4 sec. previously, whatever i do, i was not getting figure below 5.5sec.
            Chk the pic:
There's lot to it other than saddle....

the shortest time indicator not shows accurate results so dont rely on tht....

my FI showed 3.8 when i shifted evry gear at 10000RPM and it was further reduced to 3.2 whn i shifted em at 10500.....

which i think is not possible.....

                • ...then again the speedo-error comes into picture which in result alters the timing!!

It's just to compare with other RTRs not other bikes.3.8 secs in a Fi is hard to believe, in reality it might be 4.5-4.7 seconds!!

                    • there isn't really so much error in the speedo reading at 60 KMPH mark. Even for the higher side 10% error you should not get such great timing. There's something else acting up!
