Hi Guys,
My third service is coming up. Got my first two services at Bharath TVS. I felt the service could have been better. Need suggestions on a different service centre. Also the svc should supply Castrol Power1, as im pissed off the f*ed up tru4. Am from blore. I have a Fi, so cant take it to a local mech.
So, a svc who do good work + power1 and if you know anyone there to contact would be amazing
Thanks.Lets put a smile on your face

Check if u can put in Apache/Fiero's crank assembly, FFE, HID,Iridium-IX spark plug, BS-29 Carb. Ask Joel for details u can go for
.
There's lot to it other than saddle....

ask svc not to change the oil during the service and then get it changed to your choice at your local mech. changing the oil in FI is the same as on any other bike. so dont worry.. your local mech will do fine.Originally posted by terrordrone View PostHi Guys,

Had my first spill on the RTR Fi today.
Kinda my spill since 4 years!!!
Was doing a 40 or so near my home when a van came across in an intersection.
Jammed the front. The bike stopped, but just hit the van head-on. Did not fall down. Balanced the bike on my thighs. The front fairing has broken exactly where the number plate is mounted. No other scratches on me or the bike. The neck lock is a bit tight, but THANK GOD, thats it! Do u guys know if the fibre alone is available separately or the headlamp assembly has to be bought as a whole?
Partially my mistake as I should have been slower as its a blind junction and partly his mistake as he did not repsond to my horn and was also fast!!!Last edited by Aparajith; 05-27-2009, 12:15 PM.Democracy is when 2 wolves and a sheep meet to decide who is for dinner. No need to buy entire assembly i have seen only fibre in a couple of auto spare shops. And if u cant find one, approach second hand market. U can get everything thrOriginally posted by Aparajith View PostDo u guys know if the fibre alone is available separately or the headlamp assembly has to be bought as a whole?

RTR Fi? I thought it was on R-15. u can get it anywhere. if orange part is not broken, the fibre is same for all Apache, RTR, RTR-Fi.
And if its broken, knock doors of TVS spares shop.Last edited by nox2505; 05-27-2009, 12:15 PM.There's lot to it other than saddle....

@renny lucky you !
@trigger : hey these guys insist on changing the oil at service and tru4 specifically else they almost threaten me 'saying you will lose your warranty and do not come to us in case of problems'. Else i will have to get it filled with tru4.. come out and replace it with power1 at a local mech, which would cost me double the price as tru4 is also around 240/- . There is one near ragigudda, 9th block. Its called laxmi venkateshwara tvs. Its nowhere near as big as ashwa/bharath/meghdooth etc. Do not know if i can trust those guys. They do offer to change the oil to power1 as its in thier spare parts store.
@aparjith happy to hear ure in one piece
I remember reading in one of the messages that Joel had suggested Zen TVS for servicing etc. Do these guys supply power1 ?
Also my tachometer has conked up, so bharath tvs said he will replace it but all the readings will be lost.
1. Can the new one be set to the old values ?
2. If not, what do i do during the services ? How do i convince them that the bike has actually run for ( X + y ) kms and not 'y' kms as in the new console.
ThanksLast edited by terrordrone; 05-27-2009, 12:32 PM.Lets put a smile on your face

Note the old meter reading in your service booklet. The next time SVC guys will take out the service leaf, they'll put remarks "N/M (New meter)" alongwith new meter's reading. No issue of convincing them.Originally posted by terrordrone View Post@renny lucky you !

Do ask for some FOC bill or some SVC paper in which old meter's reading would be mentioned.
BTW, what exactly happened to tachometer???
@Aparajith
The front fairing would cost you around Rs 600. It cost me 582 (including taxes) in Delhi...Yes....
I'm still Alive...

Thanx!! that helps!! And would it have bent the neck lock assembly etc by any chance, cos I was finding it tough to do it today after the hit!Originally posted by indianz_alive View Post@Aparajith

@indianz_alive : What is a FOC ? The needle in the tachometer(rpm meter) has been displaced. It doesnt rest at 0rpm when switched off. Instead it is sometimes at -500 (hehe yea) or +500/1000 rpm. So the svc guys said they cannot set the needle in place and the whole unit has to be replaced which i found really funny and dumb.Lets put a smile on your face
