The day before I talked to him then he said I have sold the stickers before but now he is denying it.Damn TVS!!!
What you need to do is demand to see the parts manual. locate the part number of the sticker or plate and tell them to order it. dont let them go just like that. btw, talking on the phone will have varied results depending on whom you're talking to and how that person's mood is. go there and claim your rights as a customer.

that's probably because at that rpm the rest of the bike is vibrating so much there's not much left for the needle !

he's talking about the emblem sticker on the handlebar, not tank/side panel stickers. please check if the emblem sticker is available with these dudes if you can. there's a better chance of getting an aftermarket one down south than anywhere else.

the vibrating thing has happened on my bike too, maybe 2-3 times. it's was more like a fluttering needle rather than vibrating at around 7 or 8k. don't remember the exact rpm for sure. but it went on it's own. sometimes now though, at moderate rpms (5-7k), the needle suddenly quivers for a sec and then is normal again.

what i'm wondering is if the needle shakes are mechanical, i.e. the servos or other compos in the console acting up, or if it's electrical, due to the signal itself. if it's the latter, then there's nothing wrong with the tacho itself, it's just doing what it's told.

                    • ^^^The same thing happened on my P150 due to loose connection. Apache vibrates more, so this prob is more frequent!

                      • On my way to work today, i suffered a jolt when there was a sudden depression in road which I couldnt spot on time.

As soon as I got this jerk the left black panel came out. I pushed it in & observed that the screw holding is missing.

Has the screw fallen becasue of vibrations that RTR has or some one stole it?

                        • A fully tightened screw letting itself loose due to vibes does not sound like a possibility Techno!!! Most probably someone stole it, or was not fixed properly during last service and it loosened itself up due to the vibes.

I guess the last time it was opened the service guy has failed to put it back, it has happened with me too. If it had become loose, it would have made some rattling noise.

                            • Yesterday given the bike for head decarb as there was a rattling sound from the left side of the engine when hot. The mechanic suspects a bend valve due to bad fuel, and carbon deposit. Open the head and found the exhaust valve is bend, not visible but a caliper test shows the result. Valve came into warranty, but has to pay for some copper washer, and valve steam spring and the whole grinding process. They clean the head with Carbon tetrachloride & petrol, and fixed the new valves, and send it to lathe for final grinding and setting job. Piston head also got some crystallize carbon junk, clean the thing same way. After getting the head from lather they take one hour to assemble the engine. He suggest me some a good pump and told me to fill the petrol in the preferably morning.

There was another four RTR, with the same kind of problem, most of them are Fi and with lots of carbon over the head. One thing is sure whether it is bad fuel or not, tappet settings are needed to check every 5000 km to avoid valve bending.

Lastly they advise me to easy on the throttle for at least 200km, as the new valve will take time to get set, and the old punch of my RTR is restored.

Thanks TVS for the good service.

Total cost including a fresh mobile change is Rs.532.00
