hi haxor, the 160 efi's have got 17" alloys in the front & 18" @ the rear..!!
where as the 180 has got all round 17" alloys..!!

u can definitely upgrade to a 110, which'l give u a bettr grip & confidence..!! but the performance may b affected slightly..!!
if u seriously wanna change your tyres then jus have a look @ the new tyres from TVS..! they're jus brilliant..!! they're even launchin radial tyres for much bettr performance.!!
TVS have developed something called the dual compound tyres, which has a soft compound rubber on the side tread for road grip and a harder compound layer on the middle tread, which improves fuel efficiency and life of the tyre.
check out the given url for more info..!!

    hope this helps..!!

The tank of my FI got super rusted from inside, so much that the filter was full of iron particles.
Went to the SC, met the SE and the owner of the showroom, but they pulled their hands off sayin the bike is outta warranty

I think the pump will blow after 2000 kms , cuz after seein the condition of the tank from inside, and after checking the fuel filter by breaking it (wanted to see the size of the iron particles it sucked) my mech had a bet with me that the pump will surely blow !

Thank you TVS for super quality, you really rock in this department !
Only 2 years with my bike, already faced paint peeling, coming off from swingarm, fins, gearbox (front sproaket) cover, never faced this in my 8 year old FIERO, but ohhhh, that thing had SUZUKI itched on its tank !

One things for sure, as long as you have any JAP name on your bike, you'll be in peace !

Will give the tank for cleaning and painting (insides) on saturday.

        • Some pics of Pilot Sporty 100/90-18 TL tyre on my RTR. Got it abt 2 weeks back. have done close to 800kms on it. Its better than my previous 110/80-18 TL Veerubber in every aspect execpt for dry grip. Vee Rubber lasted only for 18k kms. Have'nt tried serious cornoring on Sporty though.

M45 4.00 No way that am gonna put this on my RTR. May be 3.50 in future

perfect. Where you got that tappet adjustment tool?
I couldnt find it. so i made one out of a bolt.
You need to take some one's help to hold that feeler gauge. These would have helped in that case.

Suggestion: buy one 17mm socket also. this will help for oil drain bolt, crank position sensing and tappet inspection cap.

Thanks Buddy, already have the 17'' socket with me. I am planing to work on my RTR head on coming Wednessday, will take a leave from office and do the job at home. Already talked to the lathewala and he confirm, that he will grind the valve seat as well as the valaves for Rs.60.00. He request me to not to purchase the valves now, if requier he will tell me to buy them in the time of grinding.

Do you have any idea about polishing the manifolds for better breathing of engine?

BTW Got your SMS, will send you that soon.

If you want to keep it stock, i would advice just cleaning of exhaust port, intake would be clean. But if you intend performance mod, better consult some practically experienced person like Joel.

Renny sorry to note the sad state of offairs with your TVS RTR......Even Suzuki GS 150 thread owners are complaining about rust formation near Petrol Tank mouth and all over the chasis...I wonder what had happened to these companies Quality Assurance & Quality Control Dept....I really appreciate Bajaj in this.Their early KBs had rusting problem and they replaced free of charge(I have one,so I know)and improved by TIN PLATING the inside of the tank...Even after 23 yrs the inside of tank is like new..Try to get it tin plated or Galvanize it.But I am against re-use of rusted tanks because it will fail at the most inopportune moment.Best to go for new tank with internal TIN coating
                        BEST OF LUCK

Also, get the injectors cleaned too.

That may be due to the rainy condition prevalent in Bangalore these days. I guess if you don't keep your bike dry then any bike be it TVS or YAM will catch rust.
