The shock setting will depend on the load at the rear..If you have more than 60 Kgs of load at rear, apart from rider, then set it one notch higher from lowest setting..otherwise the present setting will give you the best cushioned ride. Regarding the back pain , check your swing arm Lubrication..if it becomes sticky the up and down movement of the rear wheel will be affected.Get the swing arm opened and inspected for rusting and lubrication..at close to 37 K Kms I am sure the lubrication had dried, and needs to be greased liberally.
    Good luck
    Hi psr!

Thank you for your valuable inputs as always.

For the rear shocks issue I had, I replaced the old ones with ZMR's gas filled ones (Thank you Lohit Kotapati for all the details!).
As usual the ASC didn't have them in stock. TheSparesCompany.in provided an excellent service and since I stay in the same city, they delivered it the same day.
While replacing, I kept the old and new side by side and observed that the old one had some deformation (bend).

I am going keep a check for a month and then will arrive at a conclusion on the comfort of these gas-filled ones.
I am going certainly bump up the stiffness during touring with the saddle bag.

On swing arm lubrication, had got it done at 30k km. The bushes had broken inside and the ASC had a tough time removing the old ones.

Also, I would take this opportunity to know more about you. Many of us have seen your valuable replies in Karizma as well as CBR group.
If you can let us know what bikes you currently own (and had own before) and what is your profession!

    Thank you once again!

Any suggestions on the tune ratio after fitting in the free flow's? I'd be happy to accept suggestions on airfilters too!

My Karizma R has done close to 37,000 km out which approx 18,000 km has come via long-distance touring with ViaTerra saddle bag and saddle stay at the rear.

From last few weeks, I am experiencing severe lower back pain during my 20 km one side office commute. I feel each and every pothole on the road.
I checked the shock settings (see images below) and I believe that it is at the softest setting (They have been on this setting since day 1). Not sure what my options are besides replacing them.

Also, I believe going forward I will have to make the shocks firmer when I travel with saddle bag during long tours. Is my understanding correct?

Please Copy this link into your browser and listen the sound of my karizma engine
It is creating a thud thud sound on idle
Some say it is crank bearing and requires engine overhaul.
Some say crank is very strong of karizma it does not get damaged,it would be timing chain tensioner.
Bike has done around 30-35 thousand kms
One time half engine work, usha piston installed.
Average 40+ and pickup everything is proper.
    No white smoke from exhaust.
    Please give your valuable inputs.
    Any suggestions
Can it be timing chain tensioner?

Then it can be the cam chain tensioner.

My engine sound was exactly the same as yours. Mine was rectified by changing the cam chain tensioner. Does the sound lessen when the engine heats up?

Psr sir bike is very smooth, minimal vibes
Is it possible for a bike to work in such a way, with the crank damaged?
Do you think it can be timing chain tensioner.

    What could be culprit
Some say timing chain tensioner, please tell how to check it.

Some say it is crank bearing cost 10k complete overhaul.
