The AFR setting will vary depending on engine vacuum and compression, as also the Air Filter porosity and cleanliness. The stock setting to begin the tune is 3.5 turn like you did, and adjust it for the level of FE and acceleration required. The Rust deposits seen in the float bowl is not a good sign...it means there is rust inside the Petrol tank.. If it is so then over a period of time it will start to leak through holes in tank and will also plug the Petrol tap filters and very low to no petrol flow will be there...So check for Rusting inside tank.
The stock Karizma came with 20w40 and using a grade above w50 will make the engine sluggish and a slight drop in FE. The oil deposit inside Air Filter box is directly proportional to the amount of Blowby in Crankcase..It there is a pool of oil in 5~6 k Kms then suspect blowby due to Piston Compression ring leak...in other words your engine may be getting worn out OR your Piston rings are not free, and stuck in the grooves.

Unless you open the clutch side case and inspect the condition of clutch bell and bearing you will not be able to judge it's condition..You can get it done at ASC or with a Mechanic with good knowledge and Good TOOLS.

That is absolutely personal choice, thumb rule is to not go below the operational grade(the value after W).

My CT100B is suggested to run on 10W30, but I go with 20W50 and worst case scenario I get some vapor leaks near the PCV valve, and this is after riding at WOT around the country, my reason for opting for 20W50 was due to its longer drain intervals cause even 20W50's would crap out around the 2k km's mark given the conditions.

So I'd say go with what puts you at ease.

For whatever reason be it overfilling or high viscosity if the oil pressure exceeds a threshold you'll notice excess oil residue in the air filter box, which is nothing to to fret about. The same can be observed after longer intervals as well. Just make sure to open the drain once a year to let go of the gunk and you're good to go.

Did it a couple of times and felt that something's not right, my bike started showing cold start issues, unstable rpm reading, so I thought I'd stick to stock tune which is somewhere in between (3.5-4) rotation anti clockwise from full tight! As of now my ZMA runns on an A/F ratio of 3.5! But I started facing mileage drop issues with this as well, cold start seems to be solved but when today I tried to kick start my bike after a couple of days, and it rained heavily for the past two days here! It didn't even bother to start up, after turning on the choke and and after some kicks I got ignition ! I am just wondering what is a thumb rule to realize that the suspension setup has gone bad and needs replacement. This time it clicked only after I paid a visit to the orthopedist.

Next thing that is bothering me is metal clinging noise observed after have ridden the bike for 20+ km and when the engine is hot.
I am suspecting the Tappet settings. I had asked the ASC guys to check it, but they ridiculed it out mentioning that it is better to not fidget with the settings.
I am nevertheless going to take a DIY for tappet settings as written by ashwinprakas.
Any more inputs would be highly appreciated.

Also, looking forward to answers for Lone7raveller card issue. Carb cleaning is also on my list.
My issue seems to be solved now! I retuned it yesterday to somewhere in between (3.15-3.20) rotation anti clockwise from full tight! My bike was drenched in rain today and I started it after almost 8 hours! I left to college early morning and it rained heavily till evening here, after getting back from college and gave it a kick start, it started like charm with a single kick, plus the acceleration seems to be more refined and responsive now! Cleaned my carb as well as the fuel holes with petrol as suggested by ashwinprakas. Thankfully the issue seems to be solved now! I have issues with valve clearance, as my ZMA is giving a tik tik noise when I start it, but later on it's gone! Most probably it must be an issue with valve clearence itself as the engine heats up the metal expands and Gap is filled, although I'll give a check on the tension of the timing chain as well! Will keep you guys updated.
Thank you.

Any suggestions on the tune ratio after fitting in the free flow's? I'd be happy to accept suggestions on airfilters too!

Hi there,
I have got K&N on my Karizma R (directly fotted on the carb). The initial thrust has increased alot which is really pleasing to experience and I am quite happy with this alteration. But, as far as damage to carb is concerned, I feel that dust particles may be going inside. Planning to get UNI Pod filter for it might give less pain to the carb !

Thank you for your valuable inputs as always.

For the rear shocks issue I had, I replaced the old ones with ZMR's gas filled ones (Thank you Lohit Kotapati for all the details!).
As usual the ASC didn't have them in stock. TheSparesCompany.in provided an excellent service and since I stay in the same city, they delivered it the same day.
While replacing, I kept the old and new side by side and observed that the old one had some deformation (bend).

I am going keep a check for a month and then will arrive at a conclusion on the comfort of these gas-filled ones.
I am going certainly bump up the stiffness during touring with the saddle bag.

On swing arm lubrication, had got it done at 30k km. The bushes had broken inside and the ASC had a tough time removing the old ones.

Also, I would take this opportunity to know more about you. Many of us have seen your valuable replies in Karizma as well as CBR group.
If you can let us know what bikes you currently own (and had own before) and what is your profession!

Thank you once again!

Will it require complete overhual to fix?
Well I think the sound is associated with valve clearance of both the valves! ( Exhaust and intake) there must be gap in between these two valves and when the engine heats up the metal expands thus reducing the sound, although do give a check on the tension of the timing chain as well!
