If you only want style then no need to spend 60 k. Just buy a second hand bike of your choice and then mod it like the way you want. Man are you kidding.. Looks are subjective but performance or mileage can't be compromised.

Welcome, Than you did your research. Good for you.

Keep in mind its a 9 horse motor and a good for urban young commuting at sedate 65-70 Km/H.

Over rave and you trampling over your expectation like the others experienced poster above..

With proper maintenance it would serve it purpose well.

Hello folks... Seems like the forum is dead since past couple of days... Now for my own surprsie my father had decided to buy a new bike for me but on a compliment only that the bike not cost more than a price of 60k... Seems good enough to me coz I have read almost every page of this forum and thinking to get my butt on the TWISTER...
The main reasons being that-
1) fuel efficient
2) style is the best in the class
3) would not cost as much on the pocket coz the showroom's manager is my relative...
Though I still don't trust him and wanted to confirm that if this bike is worth a buy...

Now finally I would like some of u guyz to tell me about which things should I be keeping in mind before booking and on the delivery... And ya, any useful knowledge about the commuter are always welcomed...

Actually i got checked by known mechanic

There was some problem with security system...

I got it removed ... had no remote...... was of no use.......

Now checking battery for 2 days and see what happens.......

Hi, does the bike starts with 1-2 kick starter? If it starts with kick starter then problem ii either with battery or starter motor. Check the battery voltage....check if it is getting charged to 12volts during normal running. If it does not charge then then probably the battery is faulty....you may need to get a new one. if battery is OK then check the starter motor and electrical cconnectios from the battery,starter switch.....to the starter motor.

Just went through the thread of sprocket and Dan's Motorcycle "The Rear Chain and Sprocket" http://www.dansmc.com/rearchain.HTM.
Found out my drive chain at its last working tenure after shading two links 3k earlier(which is not recommended and risky i came to know). Chain is noisy nonetheless after the shortening but the Sprocket looks still can hold few thousands km.

This is the state of thing after 23K km (Year old) with typical chain maintenance carried out (with SAW 140 for lubing and Kerosine for cleaning every 30 to 45 days) occasional OKS lube when out of town.
Its a Rollon make 118 link with pitch 12.7mm. You can see the inner plate wearing out too much. ( in the second picture)

I tried the method provided at Dan's guide by pushing up on the chain in the middle (between the sprockets) with one hand, while pulling on the chain at the rear sprocket. and it has considerable vertical play.

Now this thing is drivven very sedately except the noise from drivetrain its pull and FE is still close to original.

So here is the question how safe is to ride this till the sprocket reach EOL ? with already a EOL chain the chain breaking scenario looming in my mind.

I would go for a replacement with the rear wheel rubber at 30K service which would seems a major expenditure after the purchase if you guys say otherwise..

Aapart from that guide please bear in mind fuel quality, timely inspection of spark plug, filter and valve clearance as well as Engine oil for maintaining that fuel economy over time.

Nope tyre profile is well suited for the weight and usage of this bike. Zapper YM 80/100 17 is the recommended rear tyre and its has good wet grip. TVS tyres also comes with some region (reported has poorer traction but lasts longer). Breaking in wet surface is the challenging task that goes with every wheel.

Not so much.. with raised and narrow pillion seat its hassle for ladies and with open chain its a hazard.

Maintenance is in line with any two wheeler in same segment (100-125cc). Open chain needs slack and cleaning and lubing each 1000-1500 km if you run mostly asphalt.(more frequent if runs on dirt/country/ road). (life span 20-25K) that too depends on style of driving.

Hello guys, I am new to this site. As I was doing a bit of research on bikes , I got to know about this site. Guys I am planning to buy red cb twister (after getting to know that it gives great mileage 70+). Does it really gives 70+ in the city(obviously, well maintained) I saw someone saying that its rear tyre is thin therefore, can be a problem while turning and on wet roads... Is it true??? Is it comfortable for lady pillion?? What is the maintainance cost for this bike?? What about open chain?? Is it a problem?? I think there are many people in this site who have clocked 15000+ kms with this bike..so please suggest me on this.

Yep i would recommend to the informed users to get the valve clearance check at least every 15 to 20 K if driven sanely. I can vouch it would result in smooth grunt and better fuel average, from my case.

Yeah buddy, there was some tingling in handlebar at 48kmph is gone now, feeling little smoother.
